Contacted the hotel before our arrival on July 25th. Vince Angelo replied quickly. We were ready for our day in paradise. When we arrived at the hotel the staff including Vince greeted us and explained our day passes. The pool and beach are gorgeous. We did the beach first. There were plenty of chairs and we enjoyed the water. Lunch was terrific. My husband and I had the Fisherman's Chowder and the mahi mahi sandwiches. The service was excellent. After lunch we sat by the pool and had a relaxing swim. Stayed until 3:30 and the staff was kind enough to call for a taxi. The beach and pool area were busy but not overcrowded. It was a nice experience to spend the day here and we would love to come for an extended stay in the future. The staff and guests we met made us feel very welcomed. The group that was at the beach and pool were mostly adults and the day was very laid back. It was a day in paradise! Chris and Carl

We were there for our daughter's wedding, which was perfect as it allowed for intimacy and one social gathering area of the central lobby, which also had a nice open floor plan into the bar and eating areas. So our guests were always passing each other and able to easily congregate.
And the colors, tile, artwork, etc. of the building had nice old Bermuda charm to it.
The rooms are small and fabrics a bit older - but cheery, and house-keeping very friendly and conscientious.
Food quality was excellent, and resort & food managers genuinely interested in pleasing.
Nice pool & terracing, and private terraced beach, which was more interesting than the norm, which also had some coral rocks off it for snorkeling and esthetics.
Location was great (as others have mentioned), it's right next to Elbow Beach, and public bus stop and good market (with everything) at the end of its entrance road.

Room Tip: more privacy in upper rooms.

Great location. Easy walk to Mickeys, bus stop, grocery. Beautiful beach.
Service at hotel was personable with the exception of restaurant and bar which was just tolerable.
Very comfortable beds and pillows.housekeeping is tops.
Rooms are pleasant, with beautiful views, and a nice patio however a bit dated.
No problem getting chairs at the pool or on the beach.
This isn't the kind of place that pampers you with service at the pool or beach.
Bermuda is my favorite beachy vacation other than Hawaii. It beats Mexico and the Caribbean islands we visited for friendliness and helpfulness of residents, ease in getting around, excellent and reasonably priced public transportation, superb food (pricier than Mexico but more varied and more gourmet), great shopping (no sales tax)
We definitely want to return.

Second time back to this resort. Everything the same - as others have written - great staff; lovely pool area, lobby, restaurant; very good menus; rooms are small, but right smack on the beach; extremely nice spot, beautiful beach/ocean, great views, nice and quiet; etc.
This year there was one difference - they now offer day passes to people on cruise ships.
And three out of the four days we stayed, large groups of "cruisers" (groups of over 15)
came in and really disrupted this beautiful, serene, quiet resort. So what was once a "hidden gem", as one reviewer wrote, is now a loud, raucus atmosphere of rude cruisers coming in for the day and ruining it for the regular guests. Such a shame!

Vince A, General Manager at Coco Reef Resort Bermuda, responded to this reviewResponded July 31, 2013

Thank you for taking the time to write and for the opportunity to respond. The day pass program is definitely regulated based on the number of rooms sold at the Resort. Coco Reef has done this program the past 4 years and a lot of our day pass guests have actually returned the next year as an overnight guest with us, once they saw how beautiful the Resort is. During your visit we did have a very large demand for day passes and turned away many of them. We did have a family group that booked with us back to back days as you mentioned. We are always ready to address any guest or group that may be disruptive to others and have no problem issuing ultimatums should they not comply. We are happy you still experienced the wonderful benefits of Coco Reef and we apologize that part of your beach experience was detracted. We value your business and hope you will return once again!

This was our first trip to Bermuda and from the minute we arrived at Coco Reef until our departure, we had the most incredible stay.

This hotel is one of the hidden secrets of Bermuda, with the private beach and use of hotels deck chairs and umbrellas. With the hotel being occupied at full capacity of 64 rooms during our stay we still found it to be secluded. At breakfast there were never more than 4 or 5 tables occupied.

The staff were always friendly and helpful, ensuring that whatever you required they'd help to accommodate you.

We did some shore diving and Steve helped us to take the dive gear down to the beach in the golf buggy. Upon exiting the water he was doing a routine drive by to see if we'd come back so he could give us a lift back to the hotel. Susie was great at breakfast, always cheerful and ready with the coffee :)

Doreen and Andrea were the ladies in charge of our rooms whilst we stayed there and were wonderful. Vladimir on the front desk was very helpful. The manager, Vince, helped out when it was busy. He's a great manager and good management means happy staff - which is what you'll find at Coco Reef.

The view from our room 417 was spectacular and the only sad thing about Coco Reef was having to leave - One day we hope to return.

If you are thinking of staying in Bermuda, look no further than this hotel as you will have the best experience of a holiday in Bermuda here.

Thanks to everyone for making our stay so enjoyable and
