What a wonderful hotel!
My husband and I stayed November 7-10 and enjoyed every aspect of this hotel. Front desk staff were friendly and welcoming and full of all the information we needed for ferries, buses and sites. Rooms were beautifully outfitted, large spacious and clean. We had a one bedroom suite and it was huge! Beautiful furnishings, large spacious living room/dining room, well equipped kitchen with glasses, dishware, cookware and utensils. Ultra comfortable bed and bedding and a bathroom to die for! The views of Hamilton and the harbour were stunning and it was such a joy to sit and watch the ferries and sailboats in the harbour from our large terrace. The free ferry to Hamilton was perfect...just wish it was more frequent for the winter months but this is by no means a negative as a cab into town was only $10 or so. My husband golfed at Belmont and the course was well groomed and challenging. The golf pro, Darron Swan was super nice and really went out of his way to ensure my husband had everything he needed for his time on the course. The free, on demand shuttle service for hotel guests to the golf course and the beach (Coco Reef allows Newstead Guest to use their facilities) is a great plus and allowed us to spend a beautiful day on Elbow beach.

We had a quick meal at the Beau Rivage and the food was excellent as was the service.

I had a massage in the Spa which was one of the best I have ever had..and I am a bit of a spa enthusiast so I can say that with confidence. This is a must if you are staying at the Newstead. The spa is so beautiful and peaceful. Even if you do not have a treatment you must stop in and visit.

Love, love, love this hotel and there were no negatives to staying there. The management should be proud of their staff and hotel....Bermudiful!

Customer service was excellent - everyone in Bermuda is very friendly. We had a 1 bedroom suite, with a large balcony overlooking the water and Hamilton which was very nice. Only downside was the cost...everything in Bermuda was expensive, so it was understandable. The pool was very nice. There is a ferry that takes you across to Hamilton which was very useful (included with your room). Overall a very nice stay; would come back again if the price is right.

My husband and I just returned from a long weekend in Bermuda for a belated 10th anniversary celebration. We stayed at the Newstead and it was fantastic. The views as you walk into the lobby are simply breathtaking. We stayed in one of the studio cottages down by the water - it also had beautiful views and was very private. Very modern, tastefully decorated, comfortable bed, very upscale kitchenette. We had a few small issues with our room the first night but did not want to move as we loved the cottage so much, so Andrew promptly had them taken care of (wifi wasn't working and hot water had an issue). The hotel is perfectly situated across from Hamilton and they have regular ferry service during the week and more limited service on Saturday. The trip is very quick and saves you a ton of money on cabs. There is also a public ferry stop a block away and bus stop down the street and if you know where to walk you can get to it on a side street without having to walk on the terrifyingly narrow main streets (although you do have to wait there for the bus). Cabs into Hamilton are around $12, except on Sunday when they are double that. I would just recommend not being in Bermuda on a Sunday (or make this your departure day) as transportation options are really limited and almost everything is closed.

The pool area and pool bar were also beautiful, although we spent most of our time in the hot tub as the infinity pool is quite cool this time of year. One other small critique as has been mentioned here before - for some reason they play loud club like music at the pool bar (but this seemed standard for almost everywhere we went in Bermuda! and if you move around the corner to the hot tub area you really can't hear it). The spa also looked nice but they were booked up while we were there so we ended up going to the Rosewood spa, which was excellent if a bit pricey (and a long trip to get there).

We took advantage of the free shuttle over to Elbow beach, which was nice and convenient (although the shuttle van really needs a new back seat - not sure if this might be the one they use in off season as it was very small, not sure how it would work if there were many people wanting to go). We also shuttled up to the restaurant at the affiliated Belmont golf club but were really underwhelmed by it, I wouldn't bother.

We ate breakfast every morning at the hotel restaurant on site (name is escaping me, it is a good french restaurant) and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Delicious, reasonably priced ($10 omelet that was to die for) and with a view over the water to Hamilton. All in all I would go back to Bermuda in a heartbeat and would definitely stay at Newstead again!

Room Tip: Ask for the cottages down by the water - although I think all the rooms have fabulous views so it wo...

This hotel was in a wonderful location with great access to Hamilton and various beaches. We had a reservation at another hotel and it was not what we expected so we quickly had to make alternative plans. Newstead was very accommodating and the rooms and view was terrific. Very friendly and well trained staff. We will be back.

My wife & I went to this resort to celebrate her 40th birthday. We've never been here before, but we promise we'll be back!!! From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff (Andrew & co.) was friendly & welcoming (not to mention the impressive views of Hamilton Harbor from the lobby), we had a slight issue with our room, which was promptly taken care of. Eric, the bellman does indeed "make things happen" & was a pleasure & helpful the entire stay. The rooms are modern & clean offering wonderful views of Hamilton Harbor. They have spacious balconies which were great for morning coffee or late night relaxing. The beautiful "infinity" pool was clean & appealing, never to crowded & had a nice pool bar staffed by Betty Ann (makes a great Mojito) who also could not have been more of a pleasure.
There is also the very convenient resort shuttle, we were promptly picked up at the airport, as well as returned to the airport with plenty of time to spare. Not to mention, the resort took us to & returned us from almost every restaurant we had reservations at, which defiantly saved us a few dollars, as the taxis on the island are a little pricey. They also take you to the scenic beaches on the other side of the island. The water ferry was a great service also, although the schedule could offer more nightly & Sunday service. Overall, a wonderful resort, good spa & an extremely helpful, polite, & friendly staff. There is a 100% chance we will revisit this resort as it was an great experience, making lasting memories.

This was my 13th, yes, 13th trip to Bermuda, and my husband's 2nd. I love this island - he's "eh" on this island. This hotel changed that for him as he thought it was terrific. I've tried several of the hotels on the island - from the highest end resorts, to little condos I've rented with no amenities, and this was my favorite stay. We escaped for a last minute long weekend, had never even heard of this hotel, but decided we wanted to focus on golfing this trip, so took a chance. What a delight! Such a gem.

Patricia at the front desk was incredibly helpful, arranging our transport from the airport both ways and helping with dinner reservations. Betty Anne at the pool bar was absolutely delightful, coming around with water every so often as a courtesy and always asking what she could do for us with a lovely smile. Eric, Darren (?) and Tristan with the shuttle/bellhop were very courteous and helpful, and always made for pleasant conversation. Even the taxi drivers that work the airport shuttle for the hotel could not have been more courteous or friendly.

We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite and this room was HUGE! One of the best hotel rooms I've stayed in - lovely modern furnishings, comfy bed. Large flat screen TVS in both living room and bedroom. Great bathroom with a soaking tub. We went to the grocery store and bought food for breakfast and cocktail hour on our deck (awesome deck overlooking the harbor). We cooked eggs and toast with coffee every morning in the kitchen and enjoyed on the deck which had a full table and chairs as well as lounge chairs. Evenings we enjoyed drinks and cheese and crackers on same. Just lovely.

The shuttle service can't be beat - they'll take you to the beach, the golf course, some nearby restaurants - on demand. Getting into a cab in Bermuda is pretty much a $30 minimum, so this is a game changer. So convenient! All of the staff knew our name and always went out of their way to assist us. They even called around to find us a place to order a pizza at 10pm on a Sunday when our cocktails on the deck went a little too late and we missed dinner! Beware - everything shuts down pretty early in Bermuda, especially on Sundays. Last seating for dinner is generally 9:30.

The infinity pool was gorgeous! The deck and chaises were always clean and available, and the pool bar and towel service convenient.

The included golf was a nice amenity - we played twice. There are definitely "better" courses on the island, but they're very expensive, and a long way away. Having the course around the corner was very convenient and the course, while short, played well and had some interesting holes.

We loved this location. While staying at the beach is nice, this was a great location for a short weekend stay. Even though Bermuda is small, it does take some time to get places, and this was a terrific home base.

We stayed at a larger resort last trip and all of the staff was imported - all of the staff at the Newstead were Bermudian, and it makes a big difference - they were just lovely.

A few areas that could be improved upon to be fair: Kitchen, while very convenient and beautifully appointed, was a bit under stocked with basic cooking utensils. The AC in the rooms is awfully loud - not a big deal. The water taxi hours are very limited - no service Saturday afternoons nor all day Sunday, and during the week only runs until noon, then again from 4pm to 8pm. A bit frustrating, though a cab is only $10 to Hamilton. We got there at 3pm on Saturday and left Tuesday morning - so never had the opportunity to use it. Though it's hard to complain about an amenity that is so convenient should the hours work for you.

We did try the restaurant, Beau Rivage, for dinner one night and it didn't blow us away. It was pretty average, but has lovely harbor views and the ability to eat outside. Staff, again, was pleasant.

All in all, we would love to come back to this hotel were it another couples getaway. Probably not the best hotel for families with young children as the beach resorts are probably more convenient with more for children to do. Most of the clientele here were either couples or business travelers. The wonderful staff really made our short getaway delightful.

Room Tip: We had room 732 which had a terrific deck the full length of the suite. Some of the "bump out&q...
