The view from this hotel is magnificent and the Blu restaurant at the golf course is very good. A number of maintenance (door handle falling off, front door having to be slammed) and house-keeping (better dusting) shortcomings let down the Newstead, as did a lack of information about restaurant opening times. No sign of any management.

The bar in the restaurant is not an ideal set-up but you can enjoy views from your room instead. The ferry driver was great - as was Andrew on reception and Gladwin.

Room Tip: go for upper floor

We had the loveliest time and felt well taken care of from the second we arrived. Eric, the porter greeted us and took excellent care of our needs throughout our stay, The same goes for the desk and maintenace staff. While there were a couple of small glitches with equipment (ice maker in the fridge not working, cable out in the living room for a day) the rest of our experience was as relaxing and comfortable as could be expected. The food at Beau Rivage was supperb, albeit expensive, but no more so than most resort restaurants. The included car service to and from the airport and to the beaches was a great perk. The free ferry to Hamilton was great as well. We wish the driving range at the gold course was accessible, but becuase there was renovation going on, we missed that opportunity. Paget is the best location and a great launching point for any activity on the island. All in all, we were very pleased.

Room Tip: Our one bedroom suite was spacious and family friendly.

What a beautiful hotel - the room was huge and had more than enough room for 2 preteens! Highly recommend the suite! I loved the expansive balcony overlooking the pool area and harbour.

The staff went out of their way to be helpful, the restaurants both onsite and at the golf course were super. Both kids liked the pool - it was on the chilly side! The shuttle to the beach was very convenient.

Only issues we experienced - which the hotel staff tried their best to help with.... was with the water. 2 mornings we were without water.....if we were on business - this would have been a HUGE issue..... since we were on vacation - it was inconvenient... no water - no coffee - no toilets!!!! We survived!

My daughters and I enjoyed our stay. Incredible room and maintained beautifully. The only drawback was the pool which was not heated and cooler than the ocean water. We looked forward to swimming in the pool because the hotel is not on the beach and it was disappointing for all of us.

Room Tip: The suites are quite luxurious.

We spent a week there and loved every moment. Our one bedroom suite was luxurious and everything we needed was at our fingertips. The service was incredible as the people involved with the hotel want to make sure you are happy and go the extra mile every time. The restaurant on site had excellent food and the view from our oversized balcony was extraordinary: from the sparkling night lights of the harbour and city across the way, to the starry starry nights and the beautiful turquoise water. Eating breakfast out there every morning was a wonderful way to start the day. The king bed was very comfortable, towels thick and numerous. Had an Indian Head massage in The Spa which was truly relaxing. Very soothing atmosphere.
The ferry shuttle across the bay is quick and efficient (a couple of PM hours of service would be great). The shuttle bus to Cocoa Beach, runs at any time, day and evening.
All the reviews I read before we went were all accurate and then some! We were delighted with our stay there.

Room Tip: Get one facing the harbour!

The room was great, with a good view. The service was good...Andrew and Eric were awesome, but so were some of the rest of the staff. One person even put us in a cab one night and paid for it when the free shuttle would be too long.

The cons... Ferry service needs to run at least 1 time per hour throughout the day. Pool was a disappointment... so pretty but not heated in the shoulder season. Would like a more affordable onsite restaurant...the one was very overpriced even on Bermuda standards.

Really appreciated airport shuttle.

We will stay again.

We just arrived back from 4 nights at the Newstead. I won't bother to write a long review here, but will just say that everything positive written about this resort was 100% correct. We had a 1 bedroom suite on a lower floor for the first night there since we'd asked to be out of the way as we were traveling with our child (a request they fully accommodated) and asked to move after that to a top floor suite (again, a request they happily accommodated). The top floor suite was definitely the best. The pool is lovely, the service was among the best and friendliest we have ever had on any of travels, especially from Andrew (concierge) and Eric (Bellman). During the winter they take guests on demand to the Coco Reef hotel (a heated pool that is far inferior to their own but a nice offer) and the beach. Their own pool is beautiful and though chilly we swam in it everyday since after a refreshing dip we could jump into the hot tub. The kitchen was fully equipped and we cooked everyday (Andrew arranged for a grocery order to be placed in our room before we arrived) and also had food and drinks easily ordered poolside even though the pool bar was closed since it was off season. Anyway, really it was one of the nicest resorts we've stayed at and there is no question we'll be heading back to Bermuda and the Newstead again.

Room Tip: Top floor for best views. The rooms are exactly what we saw online from the hotel and other's ph...

Thank you for taking the time out to share the experience you had with us at Newstead. It was a pleasure having you and your family stay with us. I am happy to hear that we were able to meet your entire accommodation request. Having a one bedroom suite when travelling with a family is very convenient due to the size of the suites, and amenities offer such as the fully equipped kitchen and living room area. Our infinity pool is great, as it has such an amazing view of Hamilton Harbor from all angles. It is also a great place to relax through out the day. I will be sure to let Andrew and Eric know that you enjoyed their warm Bermuda hospitality, they are stars. Looking forward to welcoming the family back in the near future!

Kind regards,
Kamila Bean
