“Great Family Vacation-First time in Bermuda”

Everybody we met at the Hotel was very friendly. Loved the ferry boat captain who would shuttle us back and forth into Hamilton. The Bellman went out of his way to help us and drove us through the rain in the hotel van to get food and waited for us instead of us having to get a cab. Room had a beautiful view and the pool was perfect. I would come back again.

We stayed in Bermuda for our Honeymoon 30 years ago and made the return trip week of July 17. What a fantastic trip. The Newstead was great and very quiet. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They got every request right. The only con would be the ants that seemed to be everywhere but I believe this is common no matter where you stay. I would recommend the Newstead to couples who are looking for quiet and relaxation. If you want the crowds you can try the Fairmount Southhampton. We visited there and would not want to fight the throng.

The room was well appointed. The bar never opened during the week I was there. The restaurant was fantastic, but the service was poor. The service at the front desk also left something to be desired. I could tell they were just waiting fir their shift to end. The views were fantastic. Again, the rooms were very nice. Great kitchen, bathrooms. Comfortable furniture. Very quiet....I never heard a neighbor. I would stay there again....although for the price one would expect more courtesy from the staff. The biggest problem is that side of the harbor is dead at night and the ferry doesn't run. So if you want to go out, which I highly recommend....Front Street was nice on Friday night, you have to call a cab.

My husband and I stayed for the first time at the Newstead Belmont Hill Resort. What a wonderful hotel. We had been to Bermuda many times before and this hotel was by far the best yet, and this includes the SouthHampton Princess. Service wonderful, room exceptionally clean and beautiful grounds. Seeing the city of Hamilton every night from our balcony was beautiful. Hotel ferry into Hamilton for dinner nightly was so easy, as taxi can be expensive. Would return anytime.

The location was perfect, we upgraded to a suite which was fantastic worth the extra money. The staff are all lovely especially the bell boys and Charlie the barman was great not only did he make the best Swizzle he was a good source of information and reccomended places to go and just kept us entertained at the bar.
The complimentary ferry that takes you to Hamilton is really handy and it was only a few dollars to get a taxi back. Hiring a scooter is a must.

The only thing I wouldn't do next time is pay for the breakfast to be included $25pp as the menu was limited the normal breakfast menu had lots of choices and we ended up having that after the second day.

Sue.

It was the best experience ever.
Bermuda is a beautiful island with the nicest people in the world.
The hotel:
gorgeous property, great helpful staff, delicious food and the spa was absolutely amazing. One of the best hotels I have stayed at. I loved everything about my stay at this hotel....everything. There were zero problems during our trip....we will definitely go back.

The island:
Beautiful, but expensive. in order to save money we were in a suite and we cooked breakfast and dinner in our room. Since lunch we were usually running around town.

How to get around:
Ferry, ferry ferry is the cheapest way. it is clean and comfortable and always, I mean always, on time. so don't be late. Taxi was the most convenient way of getting around especially with a 2 year old's schedule, however it can get expensive. A ride from Hamilton to the hotel ranged from $15-18.

Things to do:
I recommend that as soon as you arrive, go to Hamilton and take the taxi tour. This can give you an overview of the island in about 3 hrs for $120 and the history of the island. it will also take you around some spots that you may want to explore a little further.

Beaches:
I recommend Horseshoe Bay (more crowed but gorgeous) and Tobacco Bay and both are excellent for small kids, since it is calmer water. Do not forget your snorkel gear, ever, no matter where you go you can always snorkel, beautiful corals reefs and fishes.

Do not miss:
ST. GEORGE. Plan a whole day for it. It is absolutely amazing, lots of shopping, history and beautiful structures.

Caves:
Don't pay for both, Pick one. Basically what you see in one you will see the other. They were both beautiful but don't waste your money.

Restaurants:
Beau Rivage (french cuisine, very good)
Pickled Onion (good, spent $110 for 3 people)
Flying Fish (amazing, yummy bring $$$)

No surprises... and that's a good thing. The hotel is clean and quite well-maintained. Simply put, this place is newer and more modern than other places on the Island and it shows. It was more quiet than we expected but we also enjoyed that. The highlight is the room (suite), deck and the views over the harbor. We could have sat out and just watched the activity on the harbor and never got tired of it. Our room had well-equiped kitchenette, great bathroom with walk in shower and jet tub and comfortable bed.

Cons: No beach on property but we got over that. Recommend you get to Horseshoe Bay - the most beautiful beach I've ever been on. You will play the shuttle game of trying to time your moves to take of advantage of the hotel's shuttle to Hamilton. The shuttle's are usually on or close to on time.

Pros: Other than, of couse the room, the pool is quite lovely though not overly big. No worries as there was never a crowd there anytime in our week in May. The deck on our room was large with comfortable furniture. Service was friendly and courtious.

Tip - Every bar and restaurant in Bermuda really nails you on the alcohol. Get your favorite adult beverage from the nearby liquor store (easy walk) or from Hamilton and have your own happy hour on your deck. Highly enjoyable.

Great stay overall. Beau Rivage and Blu were also very good with great views at both (though Blu is too far to walk). Can't wait to return. Wouldn't stay anywhere else.
