A festival with a live band, free admission and lots of tents with various arts and crafts for sale, mostly made by those who sell them. Bermudians are very friendly and helpful and take their time while you are selection something to take home to friends/relatives or for yourself.

We went on Wednesday July 4th which was a complete mistake. You could not even walk down the strreet it was so crowded. Think of the most crowded concert or event you have ever been to and you get the idea. The ferries were also packed and a miserable experience.

.....this time Harbour Nights got a little rain and almost all the vendors were a no-show. Considering a lot were art, we expected a low turn out. The band was still performing and the gombey daners were out. We'll be heading back in later this week....hopefully without the rain.

We went to the Harbour Nights while in Bermuda recently (June 2012) and it was fun, but not quite the "must do" we thought. There was some music and dancing and the Gombey's paraded down the street...that was neat. We skipped over the food booths (nothing special, seemed to be the same type of street fare as in the States) and went up a street to the Hog Penny. The tables had the usual jewelry and local artisan items. We took a bus from our resort in Hamilton Parish. I wouldn't suggest traveling far just for this, unless you wanted to check out Hamilton anyway.

Harbour nights are held on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. Front St is closed off to traffic-a couple blocks of vendors. A wonderful night out, local artists of ALL kinds! Music, entertainment, food & rides for the kids.
