“Hands down the best fish sandwich ever!”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

I did some research before heading to Bermuda and saw the reviews for Art Mels. We were staying at the Southapton Fairmont so the closest one was in Hamilton, but we were warned off it by hotel staff as the neighbourhood could be a bit tricky at times for tourists. We decided to scooter our way to St. George and found Art Mels in the tiny quaint townsite. If I could somehow replicate this sandwich I would as my commute to Bermuda is a tad long. The atmosphere was basic and they seem to be doing a much larger take-out business than eat-in (6 tables or so in the back). We had one sandwich between 2. Get the raisin bread with tartar and a bit of hot sauce...cloeslaw on teh side...heaven.

“Superb "fast food" fish in St. George”
Reviewed February 23, 2014

Stop here for a terrific fish sandwich, freshly made of a light and crispy and flavourful batter on homemade bread. Our sandwich was made of red snapper and was so big that 2 of us shared it for lunch - for a reasonable $11. Get it with the tartar sauce and the coleslaw, both homemade. You can eat in, or go by the harbour if is good weather. The sign doesn't tell you it is a fish shop and there were other items on the menu, but we only asked for the sandwich as it came highly recommended. We met the very charming and helpful children of the owner, who shared stories of their school and friends. It was a memorable lunch and experience.
