“Nice if you like history”
Reviewed July 19, 2014

It took an uphill walk of about 25 minutes and a few tries to find the Fort but I'm glad I did. There are two nice beach options right next to it-Tobacco Bay which is shallow and has a restaurant and St. Catherine Beach, which was mostly deserted but beautiful. I liked the fort because I like history, it wasn't crowded and the exhibits made it easy for me to understand what life was like there. It wasn't crowded the day I was there so it was serene and relaxing. You probably won't be impressed with it if you are used to larger forts like El Morro in San Juan but if you enjoy military history this is the place for you.

“best beach no one seems to visit”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

My wife and I love going here and being the only ones there on the beach. Awesome seeing the cruise ships come from around the fort when they leave.

“A Beautiful Fort on the Northern Tip of Bermuda”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

A bit hard to find, but this fort on the northern tip of Bermuda offers some spectacular views. The fort is well preserved, with exhibits from the 18th century and earlier. A 1950s Charlton Heston movie was filmed here, and it is easy to see why.

Not crowded and off the beaten path. There is a small public beach right nearby as well.

“Go to Fort St. Catherine if you like history”
Reviewed June 26, 2014

If you are in St. Georges, you are only a short ride away from Fort St. Catherine; you can take the free shuttle they run from downtown to the fort. Our driver was nice enough to take a route past the unfinished church on the way up.

The fort has a lot to offer. It gives a great deal of history of that fort and other forts on the island. You can walk down the hallways of the fort and they have various functions of the fort marked. You can see where they had their ammo elevators, where they would eat, etc... When you get to the top of the fort, you can look at some of the various canons and anti-aircraft weaponry that used to be in service. There is also a beautiful view and a nice breeze and two beaches on either side (which are good for snorkeling).

I would recommend taking the free ride up to St. Catherine's, walk around a bit, then go for a quick snorkel on the nearby beautiful, and secluded, beaches.
