From the outside I did wonder if this was worth the entrance fee, but it definitely was.

The inside is a maze of tunnels through all the ammunition stores, sleeping quarters and kitchen.

The outside is full of HUGE cannons and amazing views out to the stunning turquoise seas.

So glad we went.

Experience life as a English officer at Fort St. Catherine located in St. George. A beautiful setting as the Fort guards Bermuda. Uniforms, guns, large gunnery and armament in and around the fort. A great time and a lot to be learned about the life and times of a English officer . A must see while in Bermuda. A free shuttle will drive you over from St. Georges to the fort

What you see of Fort St. Catherine from below or sitting having a fabulous meal at Blackbeard's is completely different from what you get when inside. From the outside you see a round stone structure but once inside the gates your are treated to an immense structure with a well thought out armory This fort being on the most northern tip of the Bermuda Islands it was well fortified. I will say no more. You must visit yourself. Go in the afternoon and stay for a great meal and sunset at Blackbeards

This fort is very well-preserved, it has models covering many different periods, it has displays on soldiers' life and the various weapons used at different times in the forts evolution. The displays in the magazine area are very informative regarding the safety measures and techniques for handling explosive charges and shells. It's a nice compact arrangement of gun emplacements.
