At noon sharp each day, actors gather in full dress, in the town hall square to put on a reenactment of punishment back in the 1700's given to a man and woman. I won't go into detail because that would most likely ruin the play for you, but it is about a 30 min reenactment that is entertaining and historical in content. Actually includes the punishment being carried out on actors as doled out by the town crier following an alleged trial of the defendants. After the play, you can catch some local Bermudian cuisine at a neat restaurant on Waters Street, one block from the square, at a placed called Wahoo Pub and Grill. Good food, friendly atmosphere and staff, and on the water.

Quaint, historical, live re-enactments of dunkings for punishment. We took the mini train tour of St. George that was interesting to learn the architectural ways they gather water from the houses, plus all the other historical events that occurred that shaped Bermuda.

There wasn't a whole lot to do in the square here. The stocks were probably the most popular because of the photo opp it presented. There were a smattering of shops and restaurants, but mostly it was the starting/ending place for touring the rest of St. George's. Quaint architecture though.

This is a great way to get even, put them in the stocks and pelt with rotten fruit, the ducking stool was even more fun as the nagging wife was ducked into the water, wonder why it was only used on woman.

I can't say this is exactly a top destination for me...I usually just end up walking through the square on the way to somewhere else. During the peak tourist season you'll see reenactors and they'll have dunk ladies into the water. Kind of hokey, but hey...it's cool to watch for a few minutes.
