We went up to Tobacco Bay this weekend which was the first properly warm on of 2013 so far in Bermuda. The water was still chilly and the beach had some seaweed coverage. Unfortunately, the Buzz outlet isn't open until early April but I've heard that they have a fully licensed bar this year which I can't wait for. When this bar opens it will be a fairly unique place on the island as there are maybe 2 proper beach bars total here.

This beach is fantastic for families as the water is shallow and the natural shape of the bay means there are no currents or undertows. Can't wait for the next sunny weekend!

This beautiful protected cove was deserted when we visited recently. Granted, it was the off season but this beach is lovely and an easy walk from "downtown" St. George. It's amazing that it hasn't been spoiled by a resort building on it. There is a cafe there that is probably open during the high season.

I have to say this is a very nice beach as far as beaches go...but there are better ones in Bermuda. This is a good beach if you have kids since the water is sheltered. However, it's usually pretty crowded and there really isn't a lot of space to just spread out and relax. Snorkeling can be ok here depending on the season--check out some of the rocks that are further out from the shore.

Great for kids and paddling, but way too shallow from real swimming. water very warm in summer and about 20 (68) or sao in the spring and fall. No-one, even Canadian, would want to swim in Jan and Feb.

Went to this beach during off season and had the beach all to myself. Not a single soul came by for hours. It is a quick walk from the downtown area of St. George's. The beach has clear water that was warm enough to go swimming in in December. Some trash and other debris was washed up on shore, but nothing too bad as described by other reviewers. The rock formations are pretty cool and make for some fun climbing for the brave. Found some pretty colored tiles that I took home as souvenirs. Really loved the serenity and nice walk down to this beach. If you walk past this beach, there are some nice views to the East. I imagine this beach gets pretty busy in the summer. So glad I went during off season.
