Very historic building, still in use today. A 5 minute walk through gives you enough time to look at all of the local leaders from the past 400 years and check out the architecture.

The Town Hall square is itself pretty and interesting, The Town Hall has the history of the building and area. It is free to go in. Worth a visit. Outside there are the original stocks used and further along the "ducking stool" over the water.

Stopped by when we were touring the town of St. George's. They have a few displays which show the history of St. George's as well as pictures and photos of the town leadership over the years.

The free tour was certainly worth our time. The guide was informative and well spoken. He did not sound recorded and answers questions along the way. The town crier is truly a step back in time to listen to.

I have always been interested in this type of things despite not studyig polical science at all at the college or university level. Certainly alot of history to this building starting back to 1612 and there are political meetings still beening held in this building to this date.

I even signed the guest book and noticed numerous signature from around the world. One doesn't have to be a member of the Commonwealth to try to understan how politcal affairs will impact on this still British island. There are various displays to read and a display case to see. The varrious objects relate to this ongoing politcal process conducted at the local level by nine elected officials in office. One gets a sense and insight on how things are done in a orderly way and been conducted in this way for hundresd of years!

From a personal note, my citizenship award in Grade 6 plus being elected to Student Council in Grade 7 has given me a critical tthinking point of view on such things. In my personal opinion, this historic is a must see if yyou wwant to learn about this most important part of Bermuda life.
