Uncle Roddy has a wonderful place to hang out and offers fantastic food, simply prepared.

We had the lobster, snapper, and chicken on 3 different nights. Every time, we were SURE it just couldn't get better...but it did. Each portion was generous and precisely prepared, with sides of sald, rice and grilled plantains - it was more than enough.

24-hour dinner reservations required since Roddy gets his supplies local and fresh every day. Cocktails and Wadadli beers - Anytime!

We were fortunate to stay next door at the amazing Barbuda Cottage that is owned by Uncle Roddy's daughter. Besides the beautiful beach and accomodation, having Uncle Roddy next door made us very happy. He is a pleasant owner and eating there on the front porch is like eating in someone's backyard. As other travellers have mentioned, reservations are essential and there are three choices - grilled lobster, fish and chicken. We had all three and also had cold white wine. Barbuda's two top exports are sand and lobsters, so you can imagine that Uncle Roddy's is THE place to eat lobster in Barbuda.

We stayed at the Barbuda Cottage in December 2011. Uncle Roddy's is right next door.
The view is breathtaking, only 20 steps from the beach! We reserved the day before. Choices are lobster, chicken or fish. You must reserve as early as possible, as Uncle Roddy prepares everything fresh on the grill while you wait.
The lobster was the best we have had. Uncle Roddy is very friendly and makes you feel very welcome. He has many stories to share, and allows his guests to feel right at home.

We would definitely return!

We ate here twice during our stay on Barbuda. Uncle Roddy's is located on the south coast of Barbuda, a stones throw (literally) from a white sand beach. We cycled from Codrington (with a swim on route to build up our appetites!).
You need to phone Roddy the day before, so he can obtain supplies. Choice is essentially, lobster, fish (unfortunately none available this time) or chicken. All are freshly prepared in front of you on the barbeque by Roddy, who is a very amiable host. Cold beers and a selection of other drinks are available from the bar.
Very rustic setting (but you wouldn't want it any other way) with humming birds flitting amongst the flowers and chickens routing around the undergrowth. A delight!

We stayed in the beach cottage next door so we had sunset drinks there a few nights, and on our last night we dined on the lobster. Fantastic! We'd seen others dining at Uncle Roddy's and knew it'd be good, but it was even better than it looked. The bar/restaurant is rustic and small. You need to reserve your meal either in the morning or the day before you arrive (guaranteed freshness), and it's totally worth it! and Uncle Roddy is so nice, I really wish he was my uncle!
