With so many islands in the Caribbean, years ago we made a pact never to return to the same island twice so that we wouldn't compare a favorable visit to one less favorable. Until we visited Coco Point Lodge we adhered to that plan. We have returned to Coco Point Lodge for 4 years in a row and look forward to many more. Everything that makes for a wonderful vacation is found at this location. We had the pleasure of taking our children and grandchildren with us for an anniversary celebration. Now the whole family is smitten. Water sports abound, fishing seldom results in 0 catch, the beach is indescribably beautiful, the cuisine and wine selection is superb, and the management, under Martin and Caroline Price, is flawless. We are most pleased to return to Coco Point Lodge and find guests we have met before. It is a very compatible group that assembles each evening for the cocktail hour. Patrick Kelly, the owner, continues his father's vision of this idyllic spot. We couldn't be more pleased.

Need I say more. Coco Point Lodge is for the serious traveler who knows when he's found "Gold". Returning to the "Lodge" ever year is like returning to your own home. The staff and guests are like family members, waiting to greet you when you arrive. Everybody has their routines, ours is swimming, beach walking, fishing, sailing, snorkeling, skeet shooting, tennis and just settleling down with a good book. We have made many friends during our five years of visiting Coco Point and look forward to meeting our future friends.

My wife Debbie's and my vote for the world's best resort of its type and size is Coco Point Lodge, Barbuda, West Indies. (Barbuda is only about 30 miles from Antigua.)

Coco Point has been most ably managed purely for the enjoyment and comfort of its clientele by Pat Kelly and formerly his father, Bill Kelly, who built Coco Point Lodge in 1960.

Just last week we had dinner with two couples who have made Coco Point the major focus of their winter experience for the last 19 and 27 years. Repeat visits are the rule, not the exception, at Coco Point.

There is no lovier beach anywhere, and Manager Martin Price and his wife, Caroline, and the Barbudian staff make guests feel at home as soon as their plane from Antigua lands them on Coco Point's private grass landing field.

Warning: You will be disappointed if you go to Coco Point expecting organized activities, loudspeakers and slot machines.

I hope the attached picture will give at least a hint of Coco Point's ambience. It is second only to Paradise itself.

My wife and I first discovered Barbuda's Coco Point Lodge on our honeymoon 31 years ago. At that time, we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the spot and the understated ambiance of this intimate five-star lodge.

Over the years as we have traveled all over the world and returned several times, Coco Point has retained its five-start rating in our minds. The site is the best in the Caribbean. You can walk out of your room or villa and a few yards later slip into the azure blue waters for any water sport you wish. Or you can walk along the point. At sunset, the views are breathtakingly memorable.

The management has done a wonderful job of preserving the understated atmosphere. The Lodge is still the intimate retreat we first discovered. You can be completely alone or you can mingle with the other guests, who are all there to relax and to enjoy themselves. Coco Point continues to welcome guests who are sure of who they are and have no need to impress anyone. It is a favorite of many families as well as couples who want to recharge their batteries.

The rooms and villas are generously sized and have been subtly updated recently. All overlook the gorgeous beach and have private patios where breakfast is erved.

The cuisine has always been fine. There is lots of very good Caribbean fare along with more traditional offerings. Wines are selected to go with each meal. All are served by the warm staff who do everything they can to make you feel at home.

Coco Point remains a choice secret - a little piece of heaven right here on earth!

Coco Point in January is the perfect getaway from New York's winter. The atmosphere is relaxed, and while there is so much offered as far as activities (all inclusive), there is also the luxury of doing nothing. The beach was gorgeous, the snorkeling, swimming and deepsea fishing were all excellent, and the food and drinks were A one. The accomodations were island-very comfortable, very simple, very well done. Room accomodations including bath facilities were more than adequate. Meals were served at fixed times and I was amazed at the variety and quality of the meals. Preparation and service were excellent. I'd go back in a minute!

Being a seasoned hotelier myself and having during the past 30 years managed 5*Deluxe resorts in Switzerland, the Far East and Africa, all with extremely demanding clientele, I have been looking for a place to get away from it all while still enjoying at least some of the comforts I am accustomed to.
Coco Point Lodge exceeded by far our expectations. Not only is the location absolutely stunning - it is situated on a palm-fringed tongue with miles and miles of pristine white and pink beaches on one side and a spectacular and untouched reef on the other side - but the welcome by Martin Price, his wife and all his staff was so warm and friendly as to make us feel immediately at home.
The daily cocktail-hour with the 30 or 40 other guests sharing this paradise adds to the feeling to be part of a family and makes one wonder how the dinner is going to be. No disappointment there either. Throughout our stay every meal was an absolute delight of a standart comparable to the best restaurants in the world - one wonders how this is possible on such a remote island using mostly local products served by native people. As a professional I appreciated the excellent training that all staff must have received during their many years at the lodge, as well as their natural friendliness. Surprising also the choice of high quality wines being offered.
Most rooms are bungalows of differing sizes, all directly at the beach and tastefully decorated in the style of the islands. The bathrooms are very large and friendly. There is no need of air-conditioning as the construction allows the constant breeze to have sufficient cooling effect.
For those who don't just want to relax and lie on the beautiful beach there is a variety of sports being offered, such as sailing, canooing, snorkeling, water-skiing and deep-sea fishing. There are even tennis courts in the park around the hotel.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Coco Point Lodge to everybody seeking true relaxation and peacefulness while still wishing to enjoy gourmet food and professional service.

Our first trip to Coco Point was Feb 2004; scheduling difficulties prevented a second visit in 2005, a real downer. We found Coco Point absolute heaven - especially as an escape from an ugly New York winter. The accommodations are comfortable, great amenities, and fabulous food. Getting to and from is easy (at least out of Newark, NJ), via Continental Airlines to Antigua and a hop over to Barbuda - you land right next to Coco Point. Hospitality was excellent - staff was very helpful, but not overly familiar. Beach is spectacular; fishing, sailing, swimming right out of the Chamber of Commerce's wish list. We'd go back in a heartbeat and are looking forward to early 2006.
