Owner description: Perfect for children, inexperienced swimmers and snorkelers, this pretty beach is appropriately named since the water is as calm as a wading pool and only five feet deep.

Nothing would be better than laying on Baby beach and enjoy the grouper fish lunch prepared by Big Mama's Grill. We went to Aruba twice and baby beach is the must-go place. Snorkeling experience is so amazing. The beach is perfect for family with yourger kids (new born to 6) as the bay has no wave.

Clear, blue, calm waters, great for swimming and snorkeling. Lots of colorful fish. Beautiful white sand beach. Loved it!

“Definitely off the beaten path”

This beach is worth seeing for the amazing color of the water alone. However, when you notice that part of its shore is bordered by the ugliest oil refining production facility it makes you wonder WHY the color of the water is so electric! It was neat to see this beach, but I can't state enough that your view in one direction is just so plain ugly. There were some people snorkeling and you could definitely walk out pretty far making snorkeling by the rocky ledge pretty easy especially for beginners. There really aren't great facilities for changing/restrooms and if I remember right, you might even have to pay to use them. Big Mama's Grill is the only place to eat at this beach, and the food was tasty and reasonably priced (we thought). All in all we were glad to see this beach, but we much preferred the facilities around Eagle and Palm beaches. Also, like another reviewer shared, it's a little difficult to find because there aren't many streets that are marked in Aruba.

“Big Mama's Grill and Baby Beach Aruba”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

We have just returned from our first trip to Aruba, and have to say that we had a wonderful time. A huge highlight of our trip was our 'discovery' of Baby Beach. My wife, my mom, our son and I had just finished visiting the national park there ( the caves and the cliffs are breathtaking, well worth the time to see) and we wanted to explore more of the south side of the island so we took a back exit from the park.

We drove through the the town of San Nicolas and found signs pointing us to Baby Beach. We followed them through the neighborhoods and found it. You are driving through these neighborhoods and when you find the 'Protestant' Church , all you can see is blue, blue, blue.

Follow the road to the entrance sign and you are there. Very basic , very beautiful, very simple. If you are looking for a spot after all of the tourist spots on Aruba, this is it.

The whole beach area is managed by the family that owns and runs Big Mama's Grill. A great little bar and grill. They use the Flintstones 'motif' (right down to the family car) and have the best hamburgers we have had in a long time , and great island concoctions to go with the burgers.

We found this place late in the afternoon , but made plans to bring the whole family back the next day for a full day. Ms. Loutiza Raven runs the bar and grill and can set up whatever you want for your visit.

For our day visit we rented one of the tents for shade , but if we weren't in the bar , we were in the water. They have created a cove there where the waves are relaxed and there isn't a spot deeper than 5' and crystal clear.

Highly highly recommend for couples, families , anyone who visits Aruba.

We stayed on the norther end of the island , but we were able to get to Baby Beach in less than 30 minutes.

Oh and the young lady that sits in the main Tiki stand right in front of the bar? That's Big Mama stop and say hey to her.
