Description: Giannis Ristorante Italiano starts it's story in 1984 when Giovanni and Filomena Ferrara opened their first family owned restaurant in down town Oranjestad, Aruba. As one of the first Italian restaurants in Aruba success was very quick to follow, through the years up to now the family has slowly moved from downtown to the new nightlife area in Palm Beach better known as the strip. Gianni's was the beginning of a family of restaurants across the island, always specializing in extraordinary culinary experiences. Today you can still meet some of the family in Gianni's, the Italian side of the Ferrara family originates from Castellamare di Stabia, a small city on the Napoli Coast in Italy. You can find the menu at Gianni's is geared more around Napoli food but as the years have passed and our customer base has grown, we have extended into other regions of Italy to create a more complete Italian experience for our customers. Gianni's is well known for constantly changing towards modern times and better ingredients, always looking to import the freshest and finest quality ingredients to enhance our customer experience. Our motto has always been; try to find the best, enjoy the best, and share it with our guests.

We dined at this restaurant in 2012 during our vacation to Aruba and were eager to return again this year. We arrived at the restaurant at approximately 6: 45 and gave our name to the hostess. We were told there would be about a 30 min. wait which was not bad, despite the fact there were many empty tables. I do understand they may have been reserved for people with reservations. After waiting about 1 hr. we approached the hostess to ask how many names were still ahead of our's. We were told there were 6. So we waited patiently watching about 10 groups of people continue to be ushered in and seated. So after waiting 90 min. I again approached the hostess but had to wait while another gentleman was speaking to her. In listening to his conversation he asked how much longer he'd have to wait because he had an 8:30 reservation. The time was 8:20 and there were plenty of empty tables. The hostess reminded him that his reservation was for 8:30 and he questioned why he had to wait when there were tables obviously empty. He asked if despite the empty tables he was going to have to wait till exactly 8:30 and she responded "yes". She said it didn't matter if it was 8:29, she wouldn't seat him till 8:30. I found that to be utterly rediculous and I honestly felt that the hostess was not managing her list very well, especially when we were told there were 6 people ahead of us and almost 10 had gone in before I asked again about our seating. At that time she looked at her list and almost acted like she couldn't find the name, when another hostess approached and heard the conversation and offered to seat us in the inside dining area (we requested the outside dining area). We readily accepted it. Once seated we were quickly approached by a waitress who was very courteous and friendly. She offered the specials and provided us with the wine list. For an appetizer we selected a small antipasto which was very good and made with fresh Italian lunch meats and fresh bufalo mozzarello cheese. The cheese was absolutely delicious. Since we had dined there last year we wanted to have the same dish we had last year. The meal was made with parmigiano cheese, whiskey, tomatoes and pasta. It was prepared tableside and was very good. We enjoyed the dinner very much. We did not have desert. Despite the long wait, we enjoyed our meal, but I would reconsider returning there without first making reservations. The entrees were also quite pricey.

We ate here toward the end of our stay and would definitely go again, more than once probably. The food and prices were good compared to other establishments in the area.

The food was very good, the sauces tasty. There was an outstanding violinist and the establishment was very clean and beautifully decorated. We had 'outdoor' seating (covered) and would probably do the same next time.

This was one of the better meals we had while in Aruba.

By far, one of our favorites in Aruba.
Location and restaurant is fabulous. The staff is great and the food is better than the staff!
Outside and inside dining available, but we prefer outside. There is usually a violinist performing during the evening - very talented and electric violin music floats through the entire area, adding an element of romance to the dining experience.
