Wonderful place to stay! Away from the busy Americanized hotels. It's a casual Caribbean vacation. We stayed the end of January 2011 in an ocean view room. It had a kitchen outside with a full fridge, hot plate and a gas grill that was shared with others. The kitchen was fully stocked and easy to use, which we used daily, only going out to eat once in our nine day stay. The room was comfortable with AC, ceiling fan and full bath. The grounds had a small pool, and lovely sitting areas amongst the palm trees. Our own patio had a suspended porch swing, a dining table set and two comfortable chairs with a cocktail table. The internet we used daily and was fast and easy to access. We found no cockroaches and others we spoke to hadn't either. Everything was clean and well kept with daily maid service, but Sunday. The area has many nice homes surrounding it and the beautiful Caribbean Sea. It's a small quite paradise! What more could you want? Thank-you Irene for everything! We loved the traditional cookies too! I have the tin on our diningroom table filled with candy. Each time I look at it, I remember our lovely time in Aruba. We hope to return! Please take care of "our" kitty.

After seeing the reviews on Trip Advisor we booked a week at the Beach House Aruba. Everyone was very friendly and the room was nice. Very cool outisde living area with full sized fridge, sink, dining table and living room chairs. All the untencils were there from plates to silverware to pots and pans.
It was great to be away from the hotels and yet close enough to enjoy the downtown area. I recommend a car rental as you are really just fa rout enough that the car was helpful.
Ewald ( one of the owners) was just great. When we checked in the cileing fan wasn't working. When I asked about it he explained that they had just installed it but the electrician was unable to find a hot wire to wire it to. I asked if they had a fan that would plug into the wall. He said that he would take care of it. While my SO and I hung out by the pool we heard saws and drills etc. About and hour later Ewald came out and told me that he had taken the ceiling light down and installed the fan there. He REALLY went out of his way to be sure that I had a fan in the room. It was this kind of attention that was apprciated.
This is not a fancy place and very unhotel like. If you know this then you will love it. If you are unclear on this fact than you will be unhappy. It is clean, has everything that we needed. Great people run it. We would go back in a heartbeat. Ironically the 4 couples that we met while we were there all found this place on Trip Advisor and all were very happy.

This is a great and inexpensive place to stay! About a half-mile north of the high-rise hotels, meaning that it was an easy walk for us to go to dinner. About a mile walk to the Kong Fui supermarket. We really enjoyed being away from the big crowds on Palm Beach, under the beach hut. The hotel is just about at the end of the sand (going N from Palm B), and while lounging there we saw a number of people every day walk by, go a little bit farther, and turn back at the rocky spot. Chatting with them, a number were envious of our "private beach".

To go swimming from here you need shoes or flippers -- the bottom is rocky very quickly, and to get to knee deep you have to go 20-30 m offshore. About 300 m North is a partiallly submerged wreck with lots of fish around it -- a pretty good place for snorkeling -- water there is about 1.5-2.0 m deep.

If you like to be a little ways away from the crowd, this is a good place. We didn't have a car, and did fine with walking. Rooms are straightened and swept every day, but if you want fresh towels, you have to ask for them. Everyone there is very nice and helpful, but unobtrusive.

Activity tip: take the bus N to Arashi beach. From there, about a 1.5 km walk to the California lighthouse, and then you can walk around the dunes and wild northeastern coast, back to Arashi beach to catch another bus back. Check www.arubus.com for schedules -- Line 10 to Arashi at the present time goes once per hour, arriving at Arashi about on the hour (so passing Beach House Aruba about 10 min before the hour).

We had an unforgettable time in the BHA. The resort is better than it seemed on the photos.

Everything is very clean and complete. we could not get enough of the beautiful ocean view from our patio. We have very much enjoyed the opportunity to prepare all of our meals in our open-air kitchen and hang loose in the cozy swing- Coutch.

It was definitely one of our best vacations ever and we will be back next year

Few steps from the most exciting beach of aruba there is this little "family hotel-apartments". Expecially suggested for kitesurfing ( very close to the wind beach ); also nice for young and romantic people. Boutique hotel, absolutely suggested!

I normally do not write reviews of hotels but I did not want anyone else to be conned into staying at this hostel (it is not a hotel or anything in between.) The rooms are small, the paint is peeling off the wall, there is no garden (just stones), there are a million cockroaches and mosquitoes, the pool is the size of a small spa, the kitchen areas are old and dirty and the "ocean views" are a joke -- you have to stand on the roof and jump if you are lucky.

I really do not understand the other reviews for this accommodation - I have 2 young children and this hostel is unsafe for them and extremely bad value -- I RECOMMED TO AVOID AT ALL COSTS.......You have been warned!!

Fly and dive was actually the name of the fine dive shop we used for our dives and it was recommended to us by Ewald (the owner). Back to the Beach House, it was really a nice place away from the awful high rise hotels which definitely not belong to an island like Aruba. If You like a quite small place with nice staff, clean rooms and good equipment, then this is the place for You. Of course there are also some not so nice things to be mentioned but they would not keep us away from here if we would come back to Aruba.
-there is a road to cross before You reach the beach (50 m away!)
-the bottom of the beach is rough and water is shallow far out from the shore.
-there are a lot of mosquitos in the evening (if the weather is rainy)
Despite these minor inconveniences I can strongly recommend this place for people
who like to cook their own food and plan their own day. Thank you Ewald, Andrea and Kirk for having us a whole week at your lovely place!
