Description: Reef and Beef is one of Aruba's hidden gems offering a very casual and relaxed Caribbean atmosphere for breakfast, lunch or an early dinner. Our open air terrace affords a peaceful view of the fish pond, waterfall, tropical plants and birds and an occasional iguana. Say "hello" to Spike our talkative Macau while enjoying free WiFi. The property boast two swimming pools and a fully equipped dive shop operated by Aqua Windies for sales, services and rentals of scuba and snorkeling equipment, as well as, daily guided reef tours. So naturally Reef and Beef offers a 10% discount to Certified Divers! Located on the local bus route between the high rise hotel area and Aruba's capital, Oranjestad, R&B is easily accessible and just a "stone's throw" away from the tranquility of Eagle Beach. Our express lunches from 11am to 3pm are the best value on the island...only 15 florins ($8.50) including soft drink! Reef and Beef......just food and good times!

“Eat Lionfish -- help protect the reef”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2013

I was so thrilled to finally find a restaurant with lionfish on the menu. As far as I know, this is the only place in Aruba that regularly serves lionfish. If you are a diver or snorkeler, you probably already know about the enormous damage that the invasive lionfish are doing to reefs throughout the Caribbean. (If not, there are thousands of articles to be found online.) With no natural predators here, all we can do to limit their numbers is catch and eat them. Luckily, they taste delicious! Comparing them to grouper, which you will find on every menu in Aruba, the lionfish flesh is a little firmer and even milder tasting. It is prepared very nicely here with a lovely creole sauce and a relaxing atmosphere. Please eat as many as you can on your trip and mention this place to others. You can walk here easily from anywhere in Eagle Beach, or if you are coming by car, just look for Windies Dive Center on the road behind the hospital (big blue building). There is also a bus that passes between downtown and the hotel area.

It was really great to meet you and we admired your persistence in hunting down the best lion fish on the island. Ecologically aware customers like you make our lion fish mission all worth while. Thank you for your support of Reef and Beef and the preservation of Aruba's coastal waters.

“A divers best friend!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2013

Reef and Beef is right next to a great dive operator (Aqua Windies) in Aruba. The restaurant is also very close to the low rise hotel area on Eagle Beach.

The owner, Ed, was very personable and friendly with the patrons. I had a "toastie" one day for lunch and fresh lion fish the next day (along with several cold beers). Great meals and service. Everyone enjoyed the outdoor dining and action from the dive operation.

Ed made everyone feel like they were family. Great little joint!
