It's hard to call MVC a hotel - it's better described as a really nice motel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are very clean. Good water pressure. Very no-frills, but it was fine for us. The bed was firm and comfortable (it said "double" on orbitz but was in fact a king). The walls are thin, we were next to old people but your experience could be different. No rug, kind of gross walking around when you get out of the shower. Minor complaint: On the weekends, some locals park at the beach at night and blast music, and the bass is fairly audible.

'Tulip" - the restaurant that is in front is farily reasonable and good - did not have dinner there but lunch was above average. The breakfast buffet is a simple continental breakfast, I ate the raisin bread, croissants, kellog cereal selection, hard boiled eggs, and OJ. Fine for me, and free.

The hotel is ideal if you are just looking for a place to crash after a long day. I preferred Eagle beach to Palm, as Eagle had a few dozen people and was fairly quiet. There is a watersports hut that is cheaper than comparable ones on Palm ($60 for waverunner vs. $100 on palm). Renting a car is pretty cheap ($200 for the week) and you will probably end up spending more on cabs than that - it's about $13 to downtown and $8 to the palm beach area. $22 to the airport. I would also suggest renting as some of the best beaches are a 10 min drive, and completely empty. Aside from the beach there is nothing really within walking distance. The Alhambra is about two miles away and the only casino nearby, tho the casino is rather small.

There is free Wi-Fi in the restaurant, and the signal sometimes reached the room. The pool is a kiddie pool that is 3 feet deep and about 8 feet long. Rooms have a TV (with aux inputs) and a safe. The front desk is open probably 8-6 or so, but the restaurant people can help if you are in a bind.

They are doing light construction next door, but we were on the opposite side and heard none of it.

Go with low expectations and you will be pleasantly surprised. For $70 a night, in March, I thought it was a great deal.

Just returned from a 4-night stay at the MVC Eagle Beach in Aruba. We were exceptionally pleased with the hotel's prime location: right across the street from the beautiful Eagle Beach. The beach was never crowded, which we loved, and there are no souvenir hawkers or merchants. Just perfect sand and clear blue water, and we were able to get a palapa (large umbrella made of wood and palm fronds) each day, even if we didn't get outside very early. You can borrow lounge chairs from the hotel and carry them across the road -- just ask at the front desk for a key. We also enjoyed the hotel's computer and its relatively fast internet connection, the food at Tulip restaurant (especially the soup!) and the friendliness of the staff. The rooms are very simple, but they have all the furniture you need (table, small fridge, armoire, safe, nightstand), plus TV and A/C, and they're kept very clean. And you cannot beat the view from your hotel room -- you look right out onto the beach and the glorious setting sun. I recommend staying in rooms 110, 111, or 112 on the second level for unbeatable views of the water and sunsets.

There was construction going on right next to the hotel, but the noise wasn't overwhelming. The rooms are very simple -- don't forget to bring shampoo, conditioner, lotions, etc, and a hairdryer if you need one. I would also suggest bringing a beach towel.

i was surprised at how perfect this quaint little hotel turned out to be for me!
the stretch of eagle beach right across the street is just fabulous... for swimming it is MUCH better than palm beach which is overcrowded and polluted from the high traffic of boats launching all day...
the rooms were basic and really clean, good TV to watch as well! my bed was enormous and super comfortable...
breakfast was good and healthy :)
i loved the staff, everyone was so friendly and happy, good vibes all around...
the atmosphere of MVC is really laid back, a quiet and cozy place to stay. if you're looking for crowds and loads of activities right in your face, you may not appreciate the MVC. even after seeing all the other accommodations offered in aruba, i would most definitely return to the MVC eagle beach!

First, we want to thank the staff for their great service and wonderful attitude. At the front desk, Christy is a great concierge. At the Tulip Restaurant, Teo is a wonderful restaurant manager, Donald is an awesome bartender (but, he serves and is flexible to help in any other way as well), Madiera and Ana are wonderful each evening as servers. Mena was a joy each morning in the restaurant. And the cleaning staff kept the rooms clean. They showed us the spirit of "One Happy Island"!
The rooms are clean and simple. The "queen" beds are bigger and more like a king. And, they are more firm than a typical US bed. Most of the vacationers in the hotel are Dutch with a few US tourists. The continental breakfast includes ham, cheese and bread, coffee, cereal, yogurt, orange juice, tropical fruit, pumpkin and raisin bread and hard boiled eggs. Nice.
Eagle Beach is very nice. Right across from the hotel is where many of the locals come to the beach. On Sunday nights, the locals cruise the outer road in their cars and play music kind of loud, but the beach is quiet the rest of the time. Eagle Beach is long and is great for walking. We would recommend this hotel to others who are interested in a clean budget hotel that has a nice location.
There are a lot of other reviews with valuable information about this hotel. They are worth reading. We just wanted to add our review. We recommend this hotel and would definitely stay at the MVC Eagle Beach again.
