“Great stay”
Reviewed May 6, 2014

We spent one week at the Aruba Beach Club from April 26-May 3rd in beachfront unit 163. We had a very nice stay at the resort. We especially liked the location of the room and the overall laid back feel of the place.
The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The convenience of having a mini market and two nice gift shops on the property was a plus. We were in walking distance of several nice restaurants with Ricardo's and Pizza Bob's being our favorites. We also liked having the Alhambra Mall close by.
The days were extremely windy which could be a hinderance when walking the beach. The blowing sand actually stung when it hit our legs. Thankfully the wind would calm down most days.
We took a snorkeling/ sunset cruise on the Black Pearl Blue Emerald from 4-7pm one day and had a wonderful time. This is a really relaxing and fun excursion.
ABC was the perfect place for our family as we were traveling with my husband's parents who are 89 and 90 years old. They were able to easily walk to the stores, restaurants, and bars.
For the Catholics in the crowd they have a Mass on Sunday evening at 5pm on the Cayenna Terrace that was very well attended.
I will honestly say that we loved our room and the resort but feel that a younger crowd may not be as happy with it. Most folks were between 60-70's (my guess) and very nice but if you want night life and a younger crowd then I would look elsewhere. Also, we were only there for one week so it may be different at other times. There were a few families there with young children but not very many. The children that were there very well behaved and we enjoyed seeing them enjoying the beach and the grounds.
The highlight of our trip was participating in the 54th Annual Kings Day 10 K on 4/26. This was our first 10k and proud to say that we actually finished the race and enjoyed the experience.
Aruba remains one of our favorite island to visit and will hopefully return again in the not too distance future.

We have been coming to Aruba for over 25 years, staying at ABC, first as guests of owners then buying 2 weeks for ourselves in 1989. The Aruba Beach Club is perfectly situated right on the beach. There are two pools, a kiddie pool and a large rectangular pool. There is a restaurant on site open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Across the street is a new mall with the Alhambra Casino and more restaurants and stores to chose from. Very relaxing and quiet with a beautiful, clean beach. Great for couples as well as for families with children. The grounds are beautifully maintained. The front desk staff will try to help you with any questions you might have. Housekeeping keeps all the rooms clean and fully supplied with towels. Wonderful place for some great R&R.

The ABC is located only 15 minutes from the airport on one of the best beaches on the island. The hotel is within walking distance of shops, great restaurants and a casino. There are $2 bus rides into the city. There is wifi throughout the pool area, although it does not reach most of the rooms. The rooms are nothing special but they are very clean and a decent size with a small kitchenette. This is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a quiet vacation on a beautiful beach.

This was our first time staying at this resort. We've been to Aruba before. I found this place to be of average quality. The rooms were small, basically a regular size hotel room with a small kitchen area. If you plan on cooking breakfast or any other meal, the sink doesn't even hold a large frying pan and the stove top is next to the sink with no counter space to dry dishes or cook. Housekeeping was the best. Our room was cleaned great every day, plenty of fresh towels and our housekeeper noticed our refrig making noise as well as the exhaust fan in the bathroom not working after we were there two days.. Upon returning to the room at the end of the day, she took care of telling maintenance while we were gone and they came upon our return to the room and put in a new motor in the refrig and installed a new exhaust fan. Great job housekeeping!! They charge $35 for the week for wi-fi. I've never stayed at a resort that wi-fi wasn't included for free so I was some what taken back on that one. Also, they make a big deal about the beach towels. Upon arrival you get a receipt to take to the hut for towels and you can change your towels only once a day. They keep a record on when you exchange your towels. Upon leaving, you need to give them back your receipt to get stamped before checking out, or they charge you for towels. Luckily, we found our receipt because no one told us about that. Also, upon arrival in your room there is an inventory list of what they give you with the room (how many glasses, dishes, etc.) so you need to check it because once again, if you are missing any items, they charge you for them. I found the towels and inventory somewhat tacky since I've never experienced that before along with the charge for wi-fi. The location is nice if you don't rent a car. There are plenty of restaurants nearby to walk to as well as a casino and shopping. The resort is right on the beach which is beautiful - the beach and water is perfect. Huts can be difficult to come by since people tend to leave towels, etc. at a hut all day, since early morning, so it doesn't leave much for those who get there after 8am or just want to go down to the beach in the afternoon for a few hours, Same with the pool. We also went to the spa for a massage and facial. Average prices for an average massage and facial - I've had much better at home for the same prices. The resort is kept very clean and some nights they have entertainment. I also found the front desk and bartending staff to be average. Not all that friendly or helpful.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor have to ocean view but it's nice to just walk out of your room to the p...

We stayed here with our 2 and 4 year old the first week in March. Its right on the beach and only about a 5 min drive to the Hi Rise area and about 3 mins to the Super Food grocery store. The resort is nicely landscaped and very clean. The Beach is big and beautiful with white sand and turquoise water. The waves were very rough the week we were there, not sure if it is always like that. The beach huts are plentiful, but they are all reserved early (before 9am) and very close together. There is a resort policy that you cant reserve for more than 2 hours with out showing up, but like every other resort with this type of policy its not enforced at all, some huts that were reserved never had anyone show up before we would leave for the kids naps at 1pm. Chairs in the sun werent hard to find though.

The pool area is nice. Like the beach the huts are all reserved early. The kiddie pool is good and the kids loved playing in it. Chairs in the sun are available. The Pool bar has Happy Hours (2 for 1) at 12-1, 4-6 and 9-10. They dont have a drink menu.... ?!?!?! Why????? I pretty much ordered the few amount of drinks that I know off the top of my head. The drinks were around $8-9. They were usually pretty good. We ate lunch there once and the quesadilla was very good. Never ate at Riccardos for dinner.

The rooms are very clean, the cleaning people here do a great job. The beds were very comfortable and the dual AC control (1 in bedroom and 1 in living area) was nice and kept the place cool. The balconies were spacious, with nice chairs and table. It seems every room has a great view of the ocean and pool.

The service here isnt great. Its a timeshare place and it felt like they were there to check you in and out and that is it. They werent there to make us feel relaxed and make our vacation better. They never told us any information about what the resort had to offer and outside of the cleaning ladies, no one smiled and greeted us. So you know, they have some planned activities for kids and a playground by the beach. One thing that I cant stand is when a hotels lists how much they are going to charge you for everything that isnt bolted down and recommends that you go through and count every little thing when you get there. Really??? I have to count every clothes hanger, plate, cup, bowl, every piece of silverware, pots, pans, towels, face cloths, dish rags, etc; for the first couple of hours I am there? Have faith that your guests and members are going to be honest.

The only other thing is the parking lot. The one in front of the ABC is only about 15 spots. I questioned the front desk about it and all they said was "Its first come first served." So I am on my own to find other parking. I dont know if it was allowed but I was able to find a spot or 2 open in the lot in front of the Casa Del Mar next door when the ABC lot was full.

So overall the Aruba Beach Club was a nice and clean resort with a great location, nice beach and pool area, great cleaning people and adequate customer service.

We ended up here for one night after our flight was canceled. The staff were extremely accommodating in all of our needs. Our room was spacious and we had a balcony overlooking the pool area. We didn't utilize it but our room was equipped with a lovely kitchenette with dining area which would definitely come in handy on a more extended stay. Overall great place to stay.
