My wife and I travelled to Aruba in August to celebrate our birthdays. We are frequent travellers to the Caribbean but this was our first trip to Aruba. When it comes to service, I've never seen anything like Bucuti. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were immediately greeted and sat down and offered champagne. It made for one of the most relaxing check-ins I've had. We were taken to our room by the same person who checked us in (Jason). Initially, we were less than happy that we were on the ground floor as we prefer to be on higher levels to maintain a certain amount of privacy. Jason said he'd look in to getting us moved. By the next morning at breakfast, we were told that they were able to accommodate our request and we moved to a suite on the 2nd (really 3rd) floor. The view was exactly like what you see in the photos. Also, despite the fact that the hotel is booked to 100% capacity year round, it's so well designed that it feels less full. We never heard a peep through the walls or from the hallway (try that in a US or Canadian hotel), nor did we ever hear our neighbours in the adjoining suites when we were on the balcony. The beach is one of the best I've seen with unbelievably white sand and turquoise waters - the kind you see in those brochures.
Throughout the stay, the staff were always very quick to respond to inquiries and requests (even getting me a doctor within an hour when my ear got plugged up). They also always followed up to make sure everything got done right.
What is also different about this resort compared to any other resort I've stayed in is the overall happiness of the staff. The staff at Bucuti from the cleaning staff to the management actually seemed to truly enjoy working there (or maybe I caught them on a good week).
The only negative thing is that they are pretty strict about the check-out time. This is a problem for Canadians because Air Canada picks you up at 2:30 (the plane doesn't leave until 5:45) leaving you without a room for 2 1/2 hours. Normally that in itself is not a problem, but between 12 and 2 is the most punishing sun of the day and I was already badly sun-burned by this point. On the plus side, you are offered a hospitality suite for 1/2 an hour at any point after check out so you can shower up before going to the airport, but I'd say that the ability to do a later check-out would be the only thing that was wanting.

Room Tip: Get a room in the Tara Suites situated off the ground floor. You'll have a great view of the bea...

This was our third visit to the Bucuti, staying in Tara Aug. 11-18, 2013. The suite was well designed, with the guests' comfort clearly a priority. From the moment of checking in to the (sad!) time of departure, the staff was friendly, professional, and very helpful. The just completed renovations have suceeded im making a very good place even better. Change is not always an improvement, but in the case of the Bucuti/Tara, it certainly is. The new air-conditioned Fitness Center is an example of a clear improvement. At both the Tara Lounge and the Beachfront Restaurant, the breakfast buffets offered a good variety and the quality of the food was high. The wait staff in both places were friendly and efficient. Our main goal for the vacation was to "chill out," relax, and enjoy being together. The environment of the resort, which includes the staff and the other guests, and the magnificent beach enabled our goal to be reached and exceeded. It is good to know that the gem that Bucuti/Tara was to us remains, and is a beacon calling us to return.

We just spent 6 nights at Bucuti and Tara. The hotel is very well maintained. The staff were all pleasant and willing to help at all times. The new Elements restaurant serves a very good complimentary breakfast and a varied fare of lunch items which we had delivered to our beach location each day by placing a red flag in the sand to notify the beach staff that it was food and drink time.
We stayed in a standard room in the Bucuti section which met our needs nicely with the exception of the anemic air conditioning system the likes of which we have been subjected to on many of our European trips. My only other complaint with the room was the hard and a bit lumpy bed.
Dinner outside on the Elements deck was enjoyable despite the fact that my Mahi was a bit overcooked. I definitely recommend getting a reservation at Carte Blanche which is located on the hotel property. You will not be disappointed.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There is no comparison with the Manchebo next door where we stayed in August last year. If you are considering both, spend the money at B & T. You will not regret your decision.

My husband and I returned to the Bucuti to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary in Aug 2013. It was absolutely wonderful! We actually made reservations with the hotel for the same time next year before we left. There are so many reasons we returned to the Bucuti - here are a few of them: it's mostly a couples resort, it's a beautiful clean, well maintained resort on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, the weather is almost perfect year-round, the Bucuti is very quiet and laid back (no loud groups of partiers), the Tara Suites are beautiful ocean front rooms, most of the staff are very kind and helpful, and they include a breakfast buffet. We would like to mention a few of the staff which we felt were exceptionally kind and helpful and went out of there way to make our stay wonderful. Mario, who took us to our room, was the first person we met who had the biggest smile and best attitude - we loved him! Madaline was very helpful in helping us with our beautiful room (#337 Tara suite), Sali, at the Tara Lounge restaurant went out of her way each morning to make sure I had almond milk with my breakfast - Thank you!!!, Kay was very friendly and always smiling, Nancy, who cooked wonderful eggs for my husband was a quiet lovely lady, who remembered us from our last trip - wow!!! Nancy, you can tell is a very hard worker - I loved talking to her in Spanish. Unfortunately, there was one employee at the bar named Juan Carlos who had a very bad attitude, didn't smile much and wasn't friendly the three times we went up to the bar. We finally stopped going to the bar and went to the store and bought our own beer; that should have never happened! Besides our negative and bad experience at the bar, our overall experience with the hotel staff was wonderful and we can't wait to go back next year!! We are especially looking forward to eating at the new Elements restaurant that opened a few days after we left.

Room Tip: Tara Suites room #337 had an awesome view of the ocean!!

We stayed in Tara 308 from Aug 23-28, and had a very nice time. When we checked in we mentioned that we had celebrated our anniversary a couple of days prior, and when we returned to our room later in the day we found a card, bottle of champagne, small wheel of gouda, and a box of Carr's crackers waiting for us; a very thoughtful gesture. On the 27th we celebrated my wife's birthday. During breakfast I happened to mention to one of the women in the restaurant that it was my wife's birthday, and a few minutes after we went back to our room, there was a knock at the door, and a couple of the women from the restaurant had a slice of cake with a candle, sang happy birthday to Karen and gave her hugs; very sweet! And if that wasn't enough, when we got back to the room later that day, there was another card and a bottle of wine and package of Ferrero Rocher chocolates for us to celebrate the birthday with. All really really nice additional touches to terrific service all the way around. Considering that it's not a small resort, the entire staff goes out of their way to make everybody feel that they're getting individual attention. It's definitely worth returning to :-)

Room Tip: We had asked for an upgrade to the top floor at Tara, and were told that we could do that a couple o...

We stayed at the Bucuti for our honeymoon for 7 nights and 8 days and they were the most wonderful days imaginable! We opted for the Tara Suite because it was our honeymoon and why not!?

The suite was gorgeous with a balcony facing the ocean (not to mention the sunsets were out of control beautiful), kind size bed, two flat screen tvs, sink with dishes/silverware, mini fridge & large bathroom.

The staff at the Bucuti are so accomodating and friendly - they really go out of their way to provide the best service and make you feel special as a guest.

Breakfast was included in our package and we were lucky enough to sit out on the new Elements deck every morning to enjoy the full American breakfast with omlet station, hot station, cold station, breads, cereals, fruit, etc and not to mention the view from the Elements deck is amazing.

We never had to fight for a lounger / chair as we were always close to the water and it appeared that everyone on the resort had a beach chair allocated to them. It was great!!

Happy hour is from 4 - 6 which includes 1/2 price drinks so you cannot beat that!

Also, did I mention this is an adult only resort?! Love kids but also love not having them running around the resort!

We loved staying on the low rise part of the island because it was in the middle between the high rise and downtown. If you wanted to go to either high rise or downtown - it was a quick cab or bus ride to either side.

I will 100% be returning to the Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort!!

Room Tip: Tara suites ocean view had the best views of the sunset and ocean. I would definitely recommend the...

We stayed in the Tara Suites for the first time Aug 1-6, 2013. This was our 7th time to Aruba and what the Tara Suites offered is unmatched. We had previously stayed at the Bucuti but always wanted to try Tara. The view from the room was breathtaking as we entered. Our room was sparkling clean with TV’s in each room including the bathroom. The temp was always cool and the dehumidifier was a nice addition.
The beach is beautiful, quiet and relaxing with new lounge chairs that are very comfortable. Get up by 7am to get a chair closest to the ocean because people save them with their towels. The new umbrellas do not block all the sun like the old palm leave palapas, so be warned. You feel like you’re on a private beach even though it is public. Only Bucuti/Tara guest get to use the umbrellas making for a more relaxing time on the beach. We never felt crowded like the beach at the high rise area.
Breakfast has such a wide variety of options it's hard to get bored. We are island travelers and this resort is our favorite place along with having the best beach in the Caribbean. The level of service is unmatched because the employees seem to enjoy working there. You feel like everyone really cares that you have a great vacation.

We will definitely be coming back next year and for years to come. After meeting Mr. Bieman and seeing how much he cares about each of his guest, I can see why so many people choose to come back year after year.

Room Tip: 3rd floor room had a spectacular view. Will be trying the ground floor room next time to be able to...
