When we purchased our timeshare way back when little did we know how much we would fall in love with this place as our home away from home. The improvements with the new tower have been well planned and worth it.The entire staff are warm and friendly. The check in process is very very slow but once you check in you know you are in paradise. The beach was uncrowded and the pool wonderful.Cant think of anyplace we would rather stay.

My husband and I just returned from spending a week at this property. We were on a promotion package and just had a studio room in the newer towers. It was more than adequate for 2 people. It was fully equipped and the A/C worked well. We were on the second floor which has the bigger balconies but there are palm trees blocking some of the beach views. I've read that the best views are on the 4th floor and up. We did have an issue with someone either dropping or throwing a glass beer bottle on our balcony but she staff was quick to respond and cleaned it right up. The first floor balconies are open and I don't think you can lock the sliding door if you enter/exit from the balcony (just something to keep in mind). The on site restaurant was good and reasonable for a resort. There was entertainment some nights. There is water aerobics in the morning, Bingo, welcome cocktail party and plenty to do. The beach is awesome. You can walk to the other high rise hotels and casinos. The Butterfly farm is right across the street ( see review) and the bus stop is right out in front. If you don't have a car, take the local buses. It's the best deal in town $ 1.50 each way and many of the buses look just like the taxis ( they are mini are mini vans) We felt very safe and everyone was friendly and helpful. The only negative is all the mosquitos and some of the Iguanas are getting aggressive, jumping on your beach chair and beware if you are standing under a Palm Tree as they climb up there and drop their business.

We stayed at the Divi Phoenix the week of October 6 through Oct 13, 2012. The rooms in the tower were absolutely beautiful. We had 4 rooms, 3--1 bedroom units in the tower and one studio in the villa section. The one bedroom units in the tower were very modern and well equipped. The villa room was very dated--but it was close to the beach and the beach bar. We found the wait staff and bartenders at Pure Beach to be severely lacking. We waited a long time for service with the exception of Rosa who was always very attentive. We watched an entire football game at the swim-up bar and were only asked if we wanted a refill 1 time on our drinks.

The resort is within walking distance of many good restaurants. I would not exclude this resort in the future for stays at Palm Beach but I would first check to see if the restaurant was open.

The beach is very nice at the Phoenix and was the best part of our vacation. We have stayed in the low rise section 2 times prior -- once at the Divi Village Golf & Beach and the Tamarijin and found there to be advantages to both areas of Aruba.

Overall we had a very nice stay but were very dissapointed that the restaurant was closed for renovation. We did not find that the Pure Beach was adequate and ate our meals elsewhere with the exception of one evening. We did find the beach bar on the villa side to be very good and friendly and good value.

Room Tip: At least floor 3 on the tower. The corner rooms are the best which overlook the beach and the pool.

We just returned from the most amazing two weeks (September 29th - October 13th) at the Divi Phoenix. The first week we spent alone just my husband and I and the second week our kids and there friends joined us for our 30th anniversary celebration (4 rooms).
Pedro Vargas who is the rooms division manager went out of his way to put our kids and they friends (they are all couples in their 20's) in rooms that were close to us as we had previously requested, We all (except for one couple) stayed in the Beach Villas and the rooms were beautiful with great views, everything in proper working condition and just lovely. We had one bedrooms and we were all very happy.

I will start off with my only complaint is that check in on Saturday can be a process. Where it is a timeshare and everyone checks in on Saturday afternoon there is normally a wait. They do go out of their way to make it pleasant with free rum punch and a nice steel drum musician to get you in the tropical mood.

It is just like returning home each year - the staff is wonderful and always seems to remember you - hugs and kisses as welcomed and they make us feel so special.

The food at Pure Beach was very good and the service was great - we never had to wait for anything and there is always someone there to check if everything is okay and if you need anything else. Also Sunday from 4-6 they have happy hour with the band Joy Ride - the band rocks and it is the best night at Divi Phoenix. It seems like the entire resort comes for this and it is lots of fun with great music, dancing, drinks and food. We make a point of being here every Sunday and also friends of ous who stay at the Marriott, Playa Linda and other Divi resorts come as well.

The beach is beautiful and huts are plentiful. We love the quite secluded feel of this beach and if and when we want more action we simply walk to the other hi rise areas. It is always nice to come "home" to our beach though.

I can't imagine anyone saying that the staff here is not friendly or appear to not enjoy their jobs. That is simply not the truth - everyone has a smile and a hello and they are more than happy to chat about their beautiful island.

We spent two weeks here and we needed another one. Cannot wait until next year - Week 39 here we come.

Just returned from staying a week at this property. This was my 5th time staying at this property and 20th time in Aruba. Awesome Property. Stayed in the Tower Section on the 9th floor. Beautiful view, nice accomadations. I feel that they have the best beach/pool area on Palm Beach. Easy check-in and check-out. Friendly staff. Excellent maid service. I highly recommend this property. Daily Happy Hour at main pool area from 4 - 6 p.m. While this is a time share property, you don't have to be a time share member to stay at the property - assuming there is availability. I booked air/hotel on Travelocity. You can also book directly through the property's website.

Room Tip: I prefer the Tower Section - 8th floor or higher - facing towards the "Hotel Zone", as opposed to the Town/Port Area. This is just my personal preference. You can stay in the newer building, but you will pay more.
