Very good stay at the Ocean Club. Facilities are nice and very Marriott-like, which is comforting for those that like a sense of familiarity. Yes, the food at the Pavilion beach bar and grill is expensive (as in a $10 hot dog), but convenience outweighs price in this case. Plus, it's pretty good food, and the drinks are even better.
Love the huts on the beach. Some (like #510) are close enough to get free wifi. We have a timeshare at the Ocean Club and it had a full kitchen, patio, etc. A little more than you would expect for a prime location by/on the beach.
I arrived late (around 11 p.m.), so there are food options like a sushi bar, sandwich places, etc. but I think it is on the Surf Club side of the resort. From what I can tell, the Surf Club is larger and more for families with children, the Ocean Club a little less crowded and for the older set. All in all, a good stay at the Ocean Club.
I recommend renting a vehicle (Jeep if you can get it) from the Hertz in the main lobby. Our compact car was only $88 a day, and that included all the insurance packages. Tour the island--you can get to Baby Beach at the southeastern tip in less than 40 minutes. The natural park is literally minutes away and the bat caves are stunning.More
