“Excellent family vacation to Aruba.”
Reviewed July 10, 2011

We arrived at the Marriott Aruba Ocean Club late in the afternoon of July 2, 2011. There was no wait for check in and we were in our villa within 15 minutes. The desk clerk explained that our room was ocean view, but that there was pool construction occurring below our room that would not disturb us. There was construction, but it was not a noise factor or a distraction from the view we had. The villa was very clean and well appointed. My wife, two children and I were very comfortable and satisfied with our accommodations and stay. We have stayed next door at the Marriott Aruba Surf Club, which is a very nice resort, but prefer the quieter less congested atmosphere of the Ocean Club. When we return to Aruba, the Ocean Club will be our first choice.

Room Tip: Ocean view and ocean front are great.

Rented through RedWeek.com and was pleasantly surprised at the accomodations and the property. Very clean, comfortable and pleasant. Only complaint is the suite was not oceanfront, which the owner promised. The Aruban people were WONDERFUL and it was the Americans and Latinos who were ugly. Smacking gum everywhere, leaving trash everywhere on the beach and generally rude and nasty.

Ben, at the front desk, was very pleasant and helpful on check in, and remembered our names all week. The food was good, and the drinks were great, but a bit expensive. We had no problems all week. We sailed on the Palm Pleasure and snorkled (recommend this trip) and even rented a Jeep that was delivered and picked up right in front of the property! Best dinner was our anniversary dinner at Passions....followed by dinner at La Trattoria at the Califormia Lighthouse. Recommend both highly. Ling's supermarket was a great find, and we managed to get stuff for breakfast in everyday. Couples massage in the spa was heaven.

Would stay here again in a heartbeat, but not in high season. Can't imagine the crowds or dealing with such unpleasant tourists again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room above the 2nd floor.....

We had a great time. But, this is Aruba, and everyone has a great time in Aruba. Marriott simply made it better.

There are three Marriotts adjacent to each other: the hotel and two time shares (Ocean and Sea). The Ocean is between the two others. Marriott bought it and the hotel from another company and renovated both to their standards. Sea Watch (the other timeshare) was built from the ground up as a Marriott.

Ocean is a couples place. It is designed and it's atmosphere is for couples, honeymooners, people on anniversary, or perhaps introverts. It has both pools and chair areas designed for quiet and intimacy. Sea Watch is designed for families or groups. It is more tightly packed with people relative to open space, it has a lazy river pool, and several game rooms. Both have the same beach front settings.

Ocean's rooms are classic Marriott time share quality. Their service staff is great. The exercise room (shared with the hotel) is very good.

The Ocean Club is a wonderful place. Clean, friendly staff, very wide and established beach. The Ocean Club is adjacent to the much larger Surf Club and the Marriott Resort which Ocean Club members have access. So there are lots of options for snacks and meals and entertainment. Like most places in Aruba, the food and drinks are exorbitantly expensive. Our one complaint is that the Ocean Club looks like every other Marriott resort. The menus are identical to other resorts and if you close your eyes, you could picture yourself in Hilton Head or Orlando. If you want an experience in Aruba that feels very close to home, the Marriott properties are for you. You will enjoy this resort. If you are looking for an all-inclusive resort that has a unique island feel to it, this isn't the place

The hotel was good and very accomodating, We had some problems with the air conditioning but it was fixed quickly. Rooms were a little small for the price, but nicely decorated. We would return next time we go to Aruba

This hotel is great! It is small, fun and a great price. The location is perfect, as well. For the kids the pool is always a fun option-with HUGE waterfalls and a waterslide. The people in aruba are always nice, but at the OC it seems that they are 10x nicer! You have a watersport cabana right on the beach-for those who like to snorkel, scuba, tube or just take a boat ride. If you walk down the hall in the lobby, you will see a couple of cute stores and an ice cream shop, which are all perfect.
They have great food there, as well. The breakfast buffet is DELICOUS, as is the Pavillion, a small little grill right on the beach. You may also walk to Moomba Beach or Pelican Pier, which both offer great food-day and night.
The rooms are the usual, with a jacuzzi. Expect that from a Marriot. As always, the decks are nice and the beds are super comfortable.
If you and your family are ever looking for a great get away, look no farther than the Ocean Club, Aruba

Very nice place. The two bedroom villas are excellent. Quieter than neighboring Surf Club. Top notch security, all the amenities as well. Highly recommended!
