My husband and I enjoyed our meal last night at Tandoor. The service was quick and friendly, but not overbearing. We sat outside and had a nice view over the nightlife below. We were served (free) papadums with a 3-way bowl of dipping sauces and raw onions with lime. 1 papadum was a bit spicy (not really, but for the inexperienced tongue, it had a kick) with a fish flavor and the other was plain with some sesame seeds.
I started with the cream of chicken soup and had bit of a When Harry Met Sally moment - it was delicious!!! It was served with a hint of lime juice and I took our lime from the onions we got and squeezed the rest in. I am a soup addict and LOVED this soup. Crazy yummy. I was sorry the bowl wasn't bigger.
After reading previous reviews for this restaurant on TripAdvisor, we ordered the Tandoor Mixed Grill and the Mutton Vindaloo. The Mixed Grill was good, but nothing to write home about. The Mutton Vindaloo was typical Indian spiced with a good portion complete with potatoes. Skip the mixed vegetables side. I expected healthy, steamed vegetables, but got mixed vegetables in too much butter/salt/etc. I should have just ordered the rice. Next time...
If you have the Best of Aruba card, you get a free dessert. It was AWESOME, but nowhere near enough.
We will definitely go back to Tandoor, re-order the Cream of Chicken soup, but choose something else for dinner.
