This is one place you must visit for lunch everyday and taste their cuisine.
The cook is the mother of the hostess.
Complimentary entree - Fried pancake with an onion and pepper dip......delicious
My lunch was mouth watering - Grouper fillet served with rice/beans/fried plantain and veg.

We visited Aruba for the second time in five years in April of 2010. We wanted to try some great local food, so we asked an employee at the car rental agency to recommend a good local restaurant that was moderately priced. She immediately answered "You've got to try The Queen's!" The Queen's Bar and Restaurant is a very new restaurant, located on Weststraat Street, at the end of the block, behind Beverly's Jewelers on LG Smith Boulevard (the main street through downtown Oranjestad). You can see the cruise ships through the cyclone fence next to the restaurant.

The restaurant is small, with a small bar, intimate atmosphere and tasteful decor. We were greeted by a friendly staff and the menu was explained in detail. We chose "An old family recipe of stewed chicken in local herbs in abundant sauce" ($10) and "(Grandma's Stewed Beef): Delight to perfection with carrots, bay leaves and onions" ($11). The portions were generous and literally melted in our mouths. We enjoyed visiting with the very friendly staff and discussing the restaurant, Aruba, and life in general. We knew we'd be back.

On our second visit, my husband chose the stewed beef again. I tried "Grouper filet in Creole sauce" ($16). Again, we weren't disappointed. The food was wonderful. We felt like family on this visit and enjoyed visiting with our favorite waitress, Yocalin. We were able to meet and visit with the owner, who was very friendly and thrilled that we'd come back for a second time.

We would highly recommend The Queen's Bar and Restaurant to anyone looking for great local food at a moderate price!

My husband and I found this restaurant at the beginning our trip. The hostess Varella and her mom (the executive chef) made us feel like family. The food and hospitality were excellent. I had the stewed beef, which melted in my mouth, the beef was so tender. The fried pancake is a nice alternative to bread, very tasty. If you love fish, you must try the grouper. You will not be disappointed!! We enjoyed the food so much that we went to Queen's four times for dinner during our trip. This restaurant is a hidden jem!!

We left our all inclusive resort to try some of the local cuisine in Aruba. The Queen's is near the port for cruise ships and just south of the main "jewerly" strip in downtown Oranjestad. The decorations are simple, but nice.

We could not believe how delicious the appetizers, drinks, and main courses were! We are getting ready to head there again for the second time this trip (to actually pay for food) because it is so good!

The red snapper in garlic cream sauce is to die for, as well as the polenta with gouda cheese appetizer. You do not need to be adventurous to enjoy the food at Queen's, it is all good. However, my husband is adventurous and had the stewed goat! Goat is not the leanest of meats in the world, but it is one of the most delicious!

All in all, the Queen's restaurant helped make our honeymoon one of the most memorable experiences of our trip!
