This was our second stay at the Boardwalk, and all seven of us were very pleased once again. The hotel is great for long or short stays. We booked two one bedroom units and one two bedroom unit. All three units were very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Every unit has a kitchen, family room and private bedroom(s). The staff is very friendly, accomidating and well versed about the island. The hotel is reasonably priced and nicely located directly across the road from the high-rise beach, next to the Marriot Resort. Their web page is http://www.arubaboardwalk.com.

Second time at the Boardwalk for us; without question the best place to be! Located at Palm Beach you can easily walk to the beach and Palm Beach centre, without having to stay at one of the inpersonal highrise hotels. After 23 days in paradise, we could not think of one thing that needed to be improved. Lovely casita's, private terrace and the most friendly staff we have ever met. We will definately see you again next year!

The Boardwalk was just what we needed. By far the best perk was the informational book they authored and provide to their guests. This allowed us to tour the unpopulated parts of the island and see really great things - the best part of our trip by far. The staff was very friendly and full of good tips - they even did something special for our honeymood that was very nice. We liked having our own little hideaway - with our own little patio complete with hammock, grill, and table and chairs. We were able to eat meals at home and avoid paying the astronimcal cost of going out to eat. It was also great being near the hotels, but not at them. We did not have to stay staked together with other people at a high-rise, but we still could walk over and enjoy all the amenities. Likewise, you can enjoy the hotel beach scene, or you can enjoy a more open beach.

My husband and I just returned from our second visit to Aruba and our second stay at the Boardwalk. What a treasure! Not only are the prices extremely reasonable, but also the owners' and staffs' attention to detail and willingness to help went far above and beyond our expectations. We are grateful to the entire Boardwalk "family." Perhaps the greatest feature of the Boardwalk is that it uniquely combines the service atmosphere of a hotel with the operational style and hospitality that is reminiscent of a New England inn or the family-owned cottages on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

The property is located in the high-rise area in the Bakval neighborhood (across from the Marriott) and is within walking distance to the beach and some great snorkeling. We would recommend the property to families and also to those looking for an alternative to the resort scene. We very much look forward to returning on future visits!

Additional notes:

Internet: The hotel is one of the wi-fi spots on the island. We would recommend buying a wireless card from Setar in the airport upon your arrival if you have your laptop. If you don't have your laptop, the main office has a computer for public use, and fax services are, of course, available.

Car Rentals: All spots on the island are conveniently located within driving distance of each other. We would highly recommend renting a car during your stay.

We stayed at the Boardwalk from 9th September to 23rd September and would happliy have stayed a whole lot longer. It is close to the high rise hotels such as the marriott but a world away. The casitas are very Spacious and extremely well equipped when you consider they are just for a holiday. They are kept very clean and to sleep under a duvet with the aircon on was bliss and the bed was so huge!.We stayed in Casita # 21 which is the only one with an Ocean view and it was well worth the little bit extra for the sunsets. We rented a car from Value aruba for the whole 2 weeks for 455 Dollars which we though was not a bad price. Eating out if you eat on the High rise side of the Road can be expensive but cheaper if you eat the other side at Bucanneers or especially at Wacky Wahoo.Everybody was so friendly and helpful at the BoardwalkIf you need anything you only have to ask and if they can they will get it for you in record time and the guest internet access was superb. The guest to Guest notes in theCasita were extremely helpful especially when it cam to where to eat.Our casita was adopted whilst we were there by Bandit and Batman the 2 Black and White cats. I could have brought them home especially Bandit as she has this habit of drooling when she is happy and has the loudest purr I have ever heard in a cat. Batman is the old lady of the Boardwalk at nearly 20 but she is sprightly. The Boardwalk is really a home from Home but also you know you are on holiday. We just totally relaxed sitting reading on the terrace or by the pool. Snorkelled just down the road at Boca Catalina, went quad biking,Went on Mi dishi the sail boat snorkelling to the wreck of the Antilla and on the glass bottomed boat.A nice touch after we left was an email saying thankyou. It is the little things that count and the Boardwalk has them in Spades

After staying 2 nights at Manchebo on Eagle Beach, we moved to The Boardwalk for the remainder of our stay in Aruba (7 nights). We truly enjoyed our stay at the Boardwalk. We appreciated the 24 hour access to the pool and really enjoyed it. Although it is small, it is not as tiny as it looks on the Boardwalk’s website. We were able to take a dip at any time – day or night – and usually had it to ourselves. My daughter and I had alot of fun in the pool and jacuzzi – just horsing around and cooling off. The landscaping around the pool and in the entire Boardwalk complex is beautiful. Lizards scurry around, the house cats roam, and parakeets and other birds fly overhead – paradise!

We stayed in casita #22 on the 2nd floor. It was truly a home away from home for us. We had a complete kitchen, nice sized bathroom, and spacious bedroom. The beds were comfy with heavenly duvet covers instead of weighty comforters. We loved the privacy and beautiful grounds of the Boardwalk. The cats were a plus for us, especially Bandit and Batman – very friendly without being pushy.

Martijn was very personable and helpful with our questions about bus schedules, car rentals, etc. The day that we left Anouska sent me an email that our housekeeper Veronica found a necklace that we had left behind. They are mailing it to us which we greatly appreciate.

After staying on Eagle Beach, we weren’t all that impressed with Palm Beach and the touristy/crowded beach in front of the Marriot, etc. Even though Palm is a short 4-5 minute stroll from the Boardwalk, we took the bus or drove to the little coves with beaches north of Palm (Malmok area). Nice beaches, not crowded, and snorkeling to top it off!

We used a combination of walking, taxis, and the efficient and inexpensive bus system to get around most of our vacation. This worked great for us, but we did rent a car for 3 days which was perfect for exploring the remote areas.

I highly recommend the Boardwalk for anyone looking for a intimate, private, and quiet accommodations in Aruba.
