I have visited here before and loved that the complimentary drinks while gambling were of good quality and served quickly but this time we were there for over an hour playing slots and roulette and no one asked us if we would like a cocktail. We lost our money and moved on to another casino.

I tend not to review casino's unless there is something really, unusually, good or bad about them.

Seriously folks - how many times can you write "the dealers seem annoyed to be there, and even more annoyed that you are there, and doubly annoyed if you are there and happen to be winning" or "the place is showing its age with worn felt and more tobacco smell than the Philip Morris plant"

So why I am writing?

How about this - the Hyatt Regency Casino has live entertainment - but best of all they make the live entertainment set up and play in this tiny little cubby above the bar that looks like a cuckoo clock. Seriously - one minute you are buying a drink or a hand-rolled cigar at the bar - the next minute these little wooden doors open up and there sits an (embarrassed) band that strikes up a song on cue - just like those hideous birds do when the clock strikes the hour on one of those old German clocks.

It's really a bit uncomfortable - you can feel the pain of these once proud musicians and imagine how belittling this venue is, and you feel like you should look away, but you just can't. Frankly I felt worse about laughing at the band during their cover of "Over the Rainbow" than I did over losing a couple hundred shooting Craps.

All in all - it is a fine casino - and probably a "Must Visit" just to experience this unusual (and unfortunate) feature!
