“Nice extras this year”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

My husband and I extended our Costa Linda timeshare stay for 3 nights at the Manchebo, our 5th time at the resort. Upon check-in, they now give you a mojito which is a nice welcome. And at check-out, we received a bag of snacks for the plane. Nuts, mints and a homemade cookie. We love the staff at this resort- especially since everyone remembers us after 5 stays. The food is very good, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ike's Bistro has excellent food and service. The Pega Pega bar has good lunch and snacks and great bartenders. And our favorite for years, the French Steakhouse, has good food, drinks, a nice ambiance, and a great piano player.
There was one issue that did bother us though-the yoga classes were scheduled during Happy Hour. I know the Manchebo is listed as a Yoga spa but in my opinion it is crazy to have yoga classes during Happy Hour. HH is a time for drinking, singing, socializing with friends and on 2 nights of our stay the bar had to be quiet during 5-7PM. No steel drums(which the hotel hires) or radio or TV. Since Happy Hour brings revenue to the hotel, I would think that the Manchebo would schedule yoga classes for anytime BUT during Happy Hour. Maybe the managers can rethink this routine!

We had a fantastic time at Manchebo. The beach is amazing soft sand and beautiful views. The room was perfect. The spa great. The restaurant in the hotel Ike's was five star the chef personable and friendly. Loved sitting by the pool for dinner grest view of the water and the breezes day and night were priceless.

Constructive criticism would be get cushions for the beach lounges and tell the staff at the spa desk to smile and be more friendly.

Cannot wait to return to Manchebo. Oh and Sandra at the front desk fantastic person all staff friendly.

Room Tip: Staying on the second floor gives you a great view we had deluxe ocean view

We stayed at Manchebo Beach Resort in August, 2013. We were a party of six - ourselves (the parents) and our four kids ranging in age from 19 - 24. We rented three rooms. One was the ocean front and two garden view rooms. Each room was very clean, tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. The grounds are immaculate. The employees take great pride in their resort and it definitely shows. We took advantage of the all inclusive and found this to be the perfect fit for us. The kids could eat and drink all they liked (which they did and so did we!) and not have to worry about breaking the bank. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurants were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the island. We could not have asked for better service. They made us feel like family! The beach and the beach staff were wonderful. This is a wide beach and never did we feel crowded. We walked down the beach and I will say in front of The Bucuti it was like sardines packed into a very condensed area (beautiful facility but jammed packed). The Costa Linda (timeshare I believe) is dated and crowded. It definitely needs some sprucing up. My husband travels extensively and is very picky about where he rests his head - especially on vacation. He is planning our return trip for next year! Treat yourself to a piece of paradise.

We've been to Manchebo for 9 yrs in a row and have always loved it. The new Ike's Bistro for dinner is highly recommended, especially try the Chefs Tasting it's great. We try to plan our vacation to Aruba so we can meet with friends from New Jersey,Fl. and other places. We meet for happy hour at the Pega bar and have fun, but not so much this year. They now have a big push on for yoga, we have no problem with that except when it intrudes on our type of fun. They were having yoga class in the pavilion at 5pm which is happy hour. It would not have bothered us except that we were asked to keep our voices down and there was no music being played until the class was done. Could not believe that other guest were having to cater to the yoga class, not good business in my opinion. Our rejuvenation at the Manchebo is to eat the good food, lay on the beautiful beach and cool off in the clear blue water. It's also to meet with friends for a couple hours talk, laugh and have fun. By having to cater to yoga (which should be AFTER happy hour) it took a little of the enjoyment out of this vacation. I hope that the management can figure out a way to fix this so all types of people can have an enjoyable vacation doing what each person likes.

The staff was great. The beach was large, quiet, and not crowded. The food was good to very good, and the room was very clean and comfortable. We didn't like the all-inclusive wrist bands (cheap plastic and scratchy).

My wife and I are regular to Aruba. We have been to a number of places here before, including Marriott, Bucuti, Tamarijn, Westin. We personally do not appreciate highrises due to presence of kids and overcrowdedness. Last three vacations, we spent at Manchebo; this place literally stole our hearts. Manchebo represents a golden balance of reasonable rates, excellent location, best beach on Aruba (clean and spacious), well-trained, super-friendly and very professional staff... Everything there is just mastered to perfection. Rooms are clean, room service is excellent. We can speak endlessly and highly about this amazing place, but just trust us: try it once, and you will join the club... The club of Manchebo admirers.
