I can recommend Amsterdam Manor to everyone who likes perfect service and the best beach only a few meters away. Not so busy as Palm Beach but you can go there easily by bus. You can rent a mountainbike for only 10 dollars a day. To the whole crew, thanks for the great holliday!

This is a Dutch Colonial small traditional European style hotel. 72 rooms. It is not on the strip. If you want to feel like you are in Florida and eat in US chains go to the high rise area a mile up the road.
We were given a fantastic upgrade from a queen bed studio to a 6 person suite no charge.
Stay here if you want: Great service, pretty surroundings, siting in front of your room having a bottle of wine, chatting to other guests, managers cocktail hour, friendly staff, not pushy, laid back, fastidiously clean. Beach sublime, space between comfy beach chairs fantastic beach, free snacks on beach from time to time, great restaurants and food, near a fantastic supermarket w fresh bread. Nice little kitchen so we could make breakfast and lunches. Near bus stop, free parking, great room service, quiet, no rowdies, mainly Dutch residents. road in front quite quiet easy to cross to beach bare foot. Water safe to drink and delicious. pool small but clean and functional. Loads of chairs and loungers around pool-usually only a few in use.

20 mins to airport in rental car. Allow an extra hour to navigate the crazy immigration process at the airport on way home. Quite nutty and requiring you to recheck your bags and go through security 2x's and US immigration. Astounding that two smart nations could make it so cumbersome.
Remarkable absence of road signs. Navigate by guesswork, hope, and allow fun while you get lost.
No timeshare hawkers, no begging, no drugs being sold unlike Jamaica. Oranjestad interesting for a quick visit, just a mall and cruise town but harbor interesting to walk thro'.
Traffic can be really slow in town when large cruise ships docked.

We had a great stay wth extremely nice and helpfull staff, Juan in particular, beautiful gardenlike surroundings, the best beach ever just across the street with very little traffic, very nice and clean room, excellent food, fantastic beach restaurant and bar, no problems with towels or sun beds. After our visit to Aruba, we also went to Bonaire and Cuaraco, but we will for sure go back to Aruba and Amstedam Manor. Give our thanks to all your staff!

Just returned form a week's stay to celebrate a 'significant' birthday. Can not say enough good things about the staff, all were wonderful. We had a superior studio and the location was great and room immaculate. Beach never felt crowded. Less hustle and bustle than down in the high-rise hotel area but everything just a $2.30 bus ride away. Liked it so much, intend to return next year for another B-Day

Room Tip: Superior studios have excellent location and plenty of room

Very clean and well maintained hotel directly across the street from the beach. The beach is not crowded (mostly just hotel guests) since there isn't really anything close by. Huts, chairs, beach towels and rafts are provided free of charge and you can rent jet skis and parasail. There is also a beach bar where you can eat lunch and charge to your room so no need to carry cash.

Pool is nice but small -only 4 ft deep. Was not crowded at all since it is a small hotel. We had a superior studio which walks directly out to the pool area. Bed was extremely comfortable and every night, they left chocolates on your pillow. The kitchenette is small but they provide everything you need to cook a meal. There are also small appliances, (blender, toaster, coffee pot).

There is a coin laundry on site if you need to wash clothes and ironing board/iron in the room. Didn't take advantage of this but probably would not have packed quite as many clothes if I had known.

The only negative about this hotel is the restaurant, Mangoes (we did not try Passions on the beach). The service and food were terrible. However, there are many great restaurants in Aruba and if you don't rent a car, the bus stops right in front of the hotel and can take you downtown or up to Palm Beach for $2.35 (each way).

Just an FYI, there were very few children at the hotel and not much for kids.

Room Tip: Opt for the rooms on the beach/pool side on the first level.
