“Best in Aruba”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2012

We just returned from our first trip to Aruba and stayed at the Amsterdam Manor. Every member of the staff there was friendly and courteous. Rooms and the grounds were very clean. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The beach was more wonderful than the pictures can show. We will definaltey be coming back again.

Recently returned from a relaxing week spent at the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort. I was staying there with my husband celebrating my birthday. The staff at check-in were very welcoming and efficient. We were met by Napolean. He had such a big smile on his face to welcome us & give us an ice cold rum punch....ahhhhh. For some unknown reason our room was upgraded to a 2-bedroom, 2-bath suite. It was wonderful & we thought perhaps we hit the lottery....haha. The master bedroom was beautiful with jet water soaking tub. Something my husband really enjoyed. This suite was bigger than our first apartment....I kid you not!

Myra, the concierge, was the best. She booked all of our dinner reservations, giving us helpful hints and advice. I highly recommend Passions on the Beach for dinner one night. Very good food & awesome sunset views.

I want to go back again for my birthday next year & my husband said he had such a wonderful time, too, that we just may make Amsterdam Manor an annual get-a-way. It was a wonderful vacation & you will not be disappointed at this resort.

Room Tip: We were upgraded for no special reason to Room 213. It was awesome!!

My wife and I just got back from staying at beautiful and relaxing Amsterdan manor hotel. The room and property were very well maintained. We ate at your breakfast buffet which was very good and it had much variety of food. Mayra the concierge and Napoleon the bellman were exceptionally good at their jobs. The pool bartenders were also good. They up-graded our room to a two bedroom suite. The beach was not crowded at all. The hotel next to us their beach was packed with people and kids. If you would like a quiet place to stay this is the placed for you.

Room Tip: I can't imagine that any rooms would not be good.

We love, love, love the Amsterdam Manor. After staying in the high rise area our first trip to Aruba, we decided to try the low rise area and chose the AMBR. This was our 4th stay at the Amsterdam Manor. I can't imagine staying anywhere else. The location can not be beat, the most beautiful beach on the island, great beach bar right on the premise. Free Wifi, beach floats that are Oh, So! comfortable, great chairs under palapas that are not crammed in like some of the other beaches. We enjoyed breakfast at Mangoes a few times, delicious and we had our best meal on the island at Passions! on the beach at the AMBR. Our meal was wonderful. I love all the attention to detail at the Amsterdam Manor, from the most comfortable robes to the friendly desk staff. They see to your every need with a smile. I can not say enough wonderful things about the Amsterdam Manor and would recommend it to anyone!

Room Tip: We have stayed in almost every type of room from the studio to the 2 BR suite, they are all great!

This was our first trip to Aruba and the Amsterdam Manor definitely exceeded our expectations. It's very well maintained and their employees are amazingly pleasant. It was five of us and they had the perfect bedrooms for all of us. Spacious and clean.
Stefan at the bar is such a great, friendly person, his personality makes you want to keep going back (not so much the drinks, lol). Mayra and Napoleon were also very helpful, friendly and very easy to talk to (helps that they know more than one language) :-)

Mangos and Passions are top notch.

My husband and I stayed at the Amsterdam Manor for the first part of our Honeymoon. We had a two bedroom suite which had two full bathrooms. We only needed the one bedroom and bath, but having the extra space was nice, and we both had our own bathrooms!
The suite was huge, and had a kitchen, with microwave, stove, full fridge, and all the untencils and glassware you need. Each room had its own thermastate control which was very nice. We kept the room at about 24 degrees celsious at all times, and it kept the room nice and cool with minimal condensation issues, which didn't bother us.
We were greated with friendly faces during check in, but be aware that your room will not be ready early. We left our things at the concierge desk and checked out the beach until our room was ready at the 4pm check in time. The beach is accross the street, but it is so quick and easy to cross the street, that I didn't even realize it wasn't "on the property". There is a beach bar that served drinks and lunch every day which was very convienent. We had no problems getting a "palapa" and beach chairs the full 6 days we were there. We normally got to the beach at about 11am or so, and got our spot for the day. We traveled in Oct, which is their slower time, so the beach was quiet and relaxing. There were some bigger waves and clouds the first couple of days we were there due to hurricane Sandy, but the waves were fun to swim in.
Everyone is super friendly in Aruba and at the Amsterdam, there was not one person at the resort who didn't say "good morning" or "hello" when they saw you.
The only negative I have is their breakfast. We bought the American Breakfast buffet with our stay, and if you got there later, you could tell the food was sitting out awhile. There wasn't any difference from day to day either, always the same choices. The food wasn't bad, but it did get old after a couple of days having the same things. The man who made the omelets was so adorable and very funny...and the omelets were amazing and obviously fresh.
We were on our honeymoon, so when we checked into our room there was a bottle of champange and we received a gift which was very nice.
I'd recommend the Amsterdam to anyone who wants a nice, quiet resort experience..the beach is amazing!

Room Tip: Get a one or two bedroom suite. The two bedroom suite we stayed in was on the second level and had...

This is my first time in Aruba. This is a small charming hotel with European architecture. We shared 2 bedroom suite purchased on Orbitz for $200 a night which was enormous, modern and well-decorated. There was a balcony which faced the ocean. The beach which was right across a narrow street had powdery soft sand, was quiet and had turquoise water with no waves. The staff was kind and professional. We ate most of our meals at the two restaurants which were a little pricey (typical of Aruba) but the food was good. I would definitely recommend this hotel over the circus atmosphere of the all inclusive resorts. Most of the clientele was Dutch. There was a bus stop in front if you wanted to go to the capital or high rise area.
