This was our 4th time staying in the Hyatt it has become very comfortable. We love the location on the strip. They finally got the internet issues worked out, having a business to keep an eye on it was nice to finally have wireless access that actually worked in our room at no additional cost. I am never happy about getting up at 6:00 am to stand on line each morning to get a palapa on the beach don't you think opening the hut at 8:00 am would be early enough? Some of the other hotels let you reserve the night before. This is the biggest irritant I faced during my vacation.

Room Tip: If your looking for quiet ask for a room away from the lobby bar as the noise does travel up.

We enjoy every moment of it. everyone is so accomodating. we will definitely go back and spend more time in Aruba. All restaurant around the hotel are really good and best staff ever.. receptionist are very helpful with our tours reservation spa appointment. We never get a chance to use the spa since we enjoy the outside atmosphere..

We stayed four nights at the Hyatt Regency Aruba for a business conference, with time for us before and after...and during, if I am to be honest. In short, they do what they do pretty well!

The facility itself is a bit crowded: chairs packed around the pool and chairs pretty crowded on the beach. If you're looking for isolation, look somewhere else. For us, this wasn't a problem. There was a nutty competition of sorts with people lining up early in the morning to get beach towels to drape over chairs to reserve them. They would then disappear until late morning, leaving dozens of chairs occupied by only green beach towels. Then the people would show up for an hour and leave. Huh?

Our room was quite attractive, with a view to the north of the beach and east over the island. Most rooms have a balcony that is not really a balcony. There's a sliding door and two feet wide platform. You go out, look around, and get back inside. There is no room for anything else. It sounds objectionable, but it wasn't for us. We don't usually spend a lot of time just sitting. If you like to, you'll need to get one of the rooms (or suites?) that has an actual balcony. The room itself (two queen beds) feels a bit close because there's an oddly designed desk--it's attached and perpendicular to the dresser and it's quite intrusive. It juts out into the already limited space between the dresser and the beds, making it necessary to wiggle thru each time you want to get to the tiny fake balcony--or the other side of the bed. Factor in the two chairs that are there and it become quite crowded. After bumping into it a half dozen times I stood back and wondered who thought this up...and who approved it.

Enough of that! Downstairs, the shops are attractive (and expensive), the pool is quite accomodating (despite the million chairs, the pool never was crowded), there's a water slide, there's black swans in a separate decorative pool, a few caged tropical birds to view, and an assortment of very good dining options. The ceviche at Palms was terrific!

If you choose beach over the pool, it's a good and a bad. The water is calm, the pool bar servers will take good care of you (after you hunt one down) and the water is very calm, except when the water isn't so calm due to the screwballs who have the water toy/boat trip concession on the pier that shares the beach. It might bother you. For us, it was endlessly entertaining, watching the boats recklessly zooming to and from the pier. Nobody crashed, so it's their "system", I guess! Chairs and palapas...come early or they're taken.

Finally, there's a very nice casino on the property. Not too big, but enough to keep us entertained. Late night there's a band on a stage above and behind the bar, a pretty neat arrangement. Comp beer and pop (not liquor) while you gamble, but only one not-too-motivated waiter for the entire casino. Go get your own or stay thirsty. During our visit, the band was entertaining in a rather unexpected way : the music was ok in a typical lounge band way. The vocal efforts, on the other hand, were just plain funny. You had to be there...

The staff throughout the hotel was very friendly and reasonably attentive. If you go, be aware that there's a variety of restaurants and bars outside the property within a five minutes walk. You can extend your dining dollars and multiply your entertainment options quite a bit.

We had a great time!

Room Tip: Pool view south, beach and island view north.

Of course couples, and families with children will have a great time; but Romantic Couples will get more bang for their buck, especially at the Hyatt. Executive Assistant Manager Richard Elliott, and his entire staff goes out of their way to make your vacation something that you will never forget. The proper use of an oxymoron, the Hyatt is a modern version of 'old world charm'. When you think of the finest old hotels, the Hyatt is that in a 2014 version. Weather, beach, sunset and all of the rest of whatever is imaginable is right there in front of you. Take advantage.

Room Tip: It's not the No-Tell Motel, make a commitment and go there.

My wife and I got married in Aruba and stayed at the Hyatt Regency in mid-October 2013. Our expectations were far exceeded and our honeymoon was remarkable. The Hyatt staff treated our family and friends with incredible kindness. They offered great advice regarding excursions and restaurants, both on and off the hotel property. Since we had a large group, we worked primarily with Ivonne Cardoso, Hyatt Manager who was extraordinary and made booking the hotel and special events a breeze. We were taken aback by the personalized notes and thoughtful gestures we received from the Hyatt staff in celebration of our marriage. Following our wedding, we enjoyed a private dinner for 25 guests at a restaurant at the Hyatt, Ruinas del Mar that was absolutely wonderful. The food was amazing and the wait staff was attentive, professional and simply put, delightful. The hotel is gorgeous with so many things to do on its immaculate grounds which can be easily described as picturesque. We picked the right time to go when there weren’t a lot of tourists and the weather was a perfect blend of breeze and heat. We will be returning to Aruba and staying at the Hyatt in the near future.
