Overall visit is always awesome. Have been there 2 to 3 times a year when possible since 2004. The 9th floor/Regency club is excellent...From Xiomara @ the front desk to room service & cleaning services...The entire Hyatt Regency staff is always accommodating & I must say if your stay wasn't a pleasant one its most definitely not this hotels fault! Hyatt you're are missed & love from New Jersey! Happy New Year!

Hotel is fantastic. The beach is the least crowded in Palm beach area even during the high season. Lots of fine umbrellas on the beach. Just get up a bit earlier to get one. Excellent professional and helpful people at the service desk, Regency floor, on the grounds. Regency floor (9th) offers fantastic breakfast and happy hour 5-7. Concierge is very helpful to book all kind of activities around the island. Excellent restaurants with great atmosphere and fun casino. Will be definitely back there. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: If you can, get the room on 9th floor - Regency floor. With it, you will get great breakfast and hap...

This was our 3rd trip to Aruba, and the 1st time at the Hyatt - wish we had stayed here before! The grounds are absolutely beautiful!! We booked a partial ocean view room, and if that view was just "partial" then you really don't need to waste your $$ on a full ocean view - our view was stunning! The landscaping is gorgeous, beach is beautiful, service was wonderful, the room very comfortable. Wish there was a real balcony (it's only about a foot wide), but that's the only negative.

The restaurants were good (a bit pricey, but then everything is expensive in Aruba) for breakfast & lunch. Not great for dinner though - there are other better options for less money right across the street.

Unlike some of the other reviewers, we had no issues at all getting a palapa each morning - I'm an early riser, and if I got downstairs by 7, I was able to basically take my pick. Perhaps we were there off-season? Our trip was in early November.

It was our first time back to Aruba in a few years. Previously we had dinner at the Hyatt and said we should try and stay here. We are very glad we did. The hotel and grounds are impeccable! Very clean.
When I booked I wasn't aware that they provide a "Family Discount" for the second room. The person that assisted in the booking brought it to my attention, which was great! The pool area is terrific! Our kids (6-7-9) loved the slide! It kept them busy for hours. One drawback was there was no swimming devices or lifeguards on duty. So if your child is not a great swimmer you could find yourself in the pool for long periods of time (kids don't want to get out of the pool!). Bring swimming devices if needed!
Food on the premises was good. Plenty to select from. We had dinner out several times. Loved the Screaming Eagle (it's pricey but worth it from staff to food) and the Flying Fishbone!!! Both restaurants were amazing!
The Hyatt is located around many walking areas for shopping, eating and just viewing. We liked that for getting the kids out for walks. Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks Coffee is right across the street!
If you want to be on the BEACH then call a week ahead of time to RESERVE an area. This was a problem when we wanted to go to the beach for the day. You need to reserve a hut or you'll be put directly in the sun with no option for shade.
All around great time! Definitely going back. Not much I'd change. The staff at the pool was AWESOME! Bartender Ms. Cordeila is the BEST! They were all great with the kids!
One Happy Island for sure!

Room Tip: Remember to ask for the "Family Discount" rate if traveling with kids and need extra room!

Where to begin? Let's start with the positives: powdery white beach, upscale open air lobby, beautiful landscaping and gardens, iguanas, black swans and turtles in a pond, large pool, friendly staff, rooms are small but comfortable, breakfast buffet (included in our room rate) was good with lots of choices, stores and Starbucks on the premises, location is excellent (directly across from many restaurants, shops, cinema and in the middle of the hotels that line the beach. Now for the negatives which, unfortunately were significant: no adult pool, loud and unruly children screaming, diving, jumping, throwing balls and running wild throughout the pool area (parents no where to be seen). Complaints about this unruly behavior fell on deaf ears at the Hyatt. They have a policy of not speaking directly to any children. We were told that the "upper level" pool was for adults. There were no signs designating the pool as adults only. When we complained we were told that in fact they don't have an adult pool. Poor housekeeping (lipstick stained glass not removed, amenities not replenished, hairs on floor not wiped up...no need to go on. If you are looking for a quiet, classy, tropical retreat I strongly urge you to stay at the Ritz. The Hyatt at Christmas time was packed with large and loud families from New Jersey who are having a great time. Nothing against Jersey... it just feels like you're at a wedding all day long and you've been seated at the kids table. This is not the place for a couples holiday. Now for the worst thing about this place: the beach hut/pool chair fiasco. Only some of the umbrella huts on the beach can be reserved well in advance (one year). The pool chairs and some of the umbrella huts are distributed on a first come first served basis. While this is fair; it's also ludicrous as you need to be standing in the line up on the beach at 6:00 a.m. if you have any hope of getting a chair by the pool or an umbrella spot on the beach. They start distributing the chairs at 6:30 a.m. So much for a relaxing vacation and sleeping in. The only positive is you won't miss the sunrise as it's still dark at 6:00 a.m. and they provide complimentary coffee. Food at the beach bars is lousy. Meat and fries taste a little off and the salads are not high quality. Walk down to the Westin if you want a decent burger, salad or chicken fingers. As you can likely tell, we won't be back. The Hyatt is a busy four star, family style vacation hotel that is way over priced for what you get. I'm happy to spend the bucks for a special high end Hyatt experience- we just didn't get that in Aruba.

Room Tip: The bar just off the lobby has live music and lots of noise in the evening. Ask for a room away fro...

This was our 4 th family trip to the Hyatt, and this property has really changed for the worse!
The attitude of the entire staff, from check in, to the beach was indifferent! acting like everything you requested was a problem!
We had booked our rooms last march for this dec requesting rooms nearby each other, however upon check in 1of the rooms was flooded from the a/c and hotel refused to accomadate us so we were moved to 2 different floors.
Requested a shower cap, which is pretty standard even in a holiday inn, took 2 hours and 4 phone calls to get.
Front desk manager was nasty and dismissive.
Would try marriott or ritz Carlton next time!

This is a nice hotel with a great beach and wide array of shops and food options, all at varying levels of overpriced.

Woke up twice at 530 AM to get a beach palapa, getting a second row palapa each time.

Upon checking in as a Platinum member on a Gold Passport Award, I was relegated to the dreaded "Standard Room". This room type has no walk out balcony and from what I can tell is located only on Floor 3. I can say this with certainty because I stayed in 3 separate rooms on this floor.

Night 1: Room 311 - kids running around all night, people talking right outside door. No soundproofing around any doors or windows here. Also, the bar in the courtyard is directly below, open until 1AM. Dance beats until 1 AM get old fast, so we move rooms, telling them its just too loud.

For Day 2 we're told there are no other rooms available for our two remaining nights and if we want to switch rooms we will need to switch each night. I willingly accept, due to the need for some semblance of sleep.

We move to another room on Day 3, and the front office has moved us right back in front of the bar!

At this point I give up and fight it no longer. The property clearly did not appreciate the fact that I was spending hard earned points on these nights, nor that I was a Platinum member.

I stayed three nights at the Radisson down the street and would highly recommend it.

Dear Guest,

I would like to thank you for posting the review about your recent stay. I sincerely apologize for the less than satisfactory service you experienced at the resort. I noted your comments about the room assignment and subsequent room changes. While I am confident everything was done with the best of intentions, I understand the frustration this caused you. I have shared your comments with the Front Office Management team for their review.

I realize that this does not make up for the less than satisfactory stay. I hope you will give us another opportunity to regain your confidence in our resort. In the meantime, thank you again for your time and comments.

Sincerely,
Management Team
