“beautiful, welcome stay”
Reviewed February 7, 2014

We are two professional couples from large US cities who come to Aruba or similar annually. This is our second stay at the Oceania. It is located between Oranjestad and the high rise hotels, across the street from the beach, no other hotels or similar in front of it/direct beach view from our balcony on two sides. Oceania is a gated, guarded complex all owner-rented with ample parking. There are stairs/elevators for easy access to our condo. They have ice machines in the main building, two exercise rooms, several pools with beach edge and umbrellas for shade, this is not adult-only, so there are children in/around the pool at times, but plenty of room and lounge chairs to spread out. This trip, ours (P211) was 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath with a full kitchen, full laundry room, patio/balcony with tasteful lounge chairs (2), table and 4 chairs and a gas grill. Great water pressure. Our property managers were very helpful and accommodating, as this was a last minute reservation. We were fairly close to the guard shack, and they could be loud in the middle of the night until reminded of our proximity.

We were looking for a comfortable place with a view of the ocean, a kitchen, and some peace and quiet. We found all of those things at the Oceania. We rented a 2 bedroom, 3 bath condo in the Boca Catalina building (356), through Prestige Reality. The condo is a unit in the main U-shapped area around the 3 pools; it is near the farther end of the building from the beach, overlooking the 3 pools, with an angled (but good) view of the beach. The condo was absolutely lovely and it's location on Eagle Beach (one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen) was perfect. You simply had to cross the street and, voila, you were there. The beach was not crowded (there is no comparison to the packed beaches in the high rise area…OY), and provided you got to the beach at a reasonable time before noon, you typically had no problem getting a spot with some shade. And the lovely ocean breezes made sitting in the sun or shade a joy. Make sure you show up at the beach for the glorious sunsets!

The condo was charming, with very nice furniture and decor. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. The showers were excellent. The place was so well-appointed that we could have thrown a dinner party for 10 people with no problem… nice dining room table and chairs… great selection of glassware, table settings, pots and pans. In addition, there was a (very necessary) blender, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, etc. Washer and dryer, too. We had two terraces, a smallish one off of the master bedroom and a good sized one with tables and chairs off of the living room. It was great to sit out for morning coffee or evening cocktails, watching the palm trees sway gently in the breeze… with a view of the pools and the turquoise ocean beyond. Delightful! We had a few dinners out there, as well. The Prestige website gives you a very nice description of all that is included with the condo, including beach chairs, and in our case, pool toys for kiddies if you have them. The pools were beautiful and rarely were there more than 5 or 6 folks using them at any one time during our stay. Amazing. The grounds were immaculate and there were at least 3 people working to keep them beautiful every morning. Although Aruba is considered a very safe island to visit, it was very nice to know that there is a security guard posted at the entrance, and that the gate to the street/beach was locked at all times (residents get a code that they can use to get in and out).

Most of the week (we were there from Jan. 10-18), the place was super quiet. Near the end of the week (around Wed/Thursday) it got a little more busy as there was an influx of what seemed to be retirees there for a couple of weeks, a couple of families with young children, and a few more couples. While we were there, most of the folks seemed to be either Canadians or US citizens, with some folks from Venezuela and some French speakers. A nice mix, but I heard mostly English spoken. People were very friendly everywhere we went. And Prestige Realty was very helpful and professional.

As this is a condo, not a hotel, you should be aware that you'll be responsible for taking care of certain things yourself. Like providing your own shampoo and soap. There is no daily maid service (though we had a surprise mid-week visit by some cleaning folks, which was nice). Towels (bathroom and beach), bed linens, blankets, hair dryer, toilet paper, and a starter soap are provided. Also provided were dish detergent, some plastic wrap, and basic spices, which was very nice.

We enjoyed an occasional lunch at the charming Tulip restaurant (right next door)… easy to saunter to, right off the beach. The Screaming Eagle further down the street in the other direction was a fine dining experience (tres moderne… perhaps a tad pretentious but fun). We would recommend the lower key (but very busy) Madame Janette's for a nice(er) meal… make sure to book ahead of time.

All in all, if you want to be in the thick of things… a large selection of restaurants, bright lights, casinos, lots of shops/bars and water sports right nearby, this set of condos may not be the place for you. This place is more private, for relaxing in modern comfort and enjoying the beauty of the beach. However, if you stay at the condos, a short ride down the road will get you to all of those things, and you'll be able to return back to a more private place. We sure hope to come back again and again.

Room Tip: You'll get a better view of the ocean if your apartment is above the 2nd floor. Some trees may...

Thank you so much for your charming description of your experience on our ‘One Happy Island’ Aruba and all the Oceania Deluxe Beachfront Resort has to offer! We are delighted you have found THE comfortable place with a view of the ocean, a kitchen, and some peace and quiet you were looking for at the Oceania Deluxe Beachfront Resort. We take great care in providing all of our guests the information needed on our website, upon arrival and during the stay. The “surprise” visit of our cleaning team was perhaps not well communicated upon check-in; all guests who book a stay with us for more than 7 nights receive besides the free departure cleaning a free weekly full cleaning service for each full week booked. Maintaining our properties clean for optimal guest experience is our goal. We look forward to your next visit! Till then, we send you some sunny regards,
Prestige Team

We have been impressed by the owner's care and attention to the property and the Prestige rental agent. We were able to drop off out luggage and check in early and we're left a bottle of champaign to celebrate our first night in paradise! Everyone here has been friendly and helpful and the property is clean, comfortable and well cared for. The studio is large and more than ample for two people. I can definitely recommend Oceania!

We recently rented the 3bd 3ba BC352 "royal penthouse" in the Boca Catalina building through prestige vacations. Overall we were very happy with the property and prestige rental agency. Reservations, check in and check out were a breeze. We had one major bummer which was the roof top hot tub was broken and we were not able to use it at all. Prestige did send someone to fix it but they were not successful. The grill on the roof was a bit rusty so we did not use that either. With that said, everything INSIDE the unit was in good working order with no problems. The unit was spacious, comfortably furnished and nicely decorated with an island vibe and homey feel. I would have given the unit 5 star excellent rating if the hot tub and grill were usable.

Oceania condos are a beautiful property, with lush grounds, multiple pools, and 24hr security both at the gate and on foot. The unit and property have every amenity you could need. The location is great...it is across the street from the beach. We had three balconies and a roof top terrace all with excellent ocean views. I must say Unit BC352 has a prime spot in the front of complex closest to the beach. It is a quick walk across to the beach but it is important to note this property is not beachfront as in directly on the beach. You do hear some noise from the road while you are on the beach but not enough to disrupt your enjoyment on the beach. Both the beach and the Oceania property are quiet and uncrowded making for a very relaxing setting. The location is very convenient to all major points of interest on the island...10 min to palm beach high rise area 15 min to downtown Oranjestad and 5 min or less to casinos and restaurants in eagle beach. You can walk in about 5-10 min to several other hotels, La Cabana, Amsterdam manor, Bucuti, Manchebo etc...

I would love to return and stay here again!

Thank you for your review! We are very pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay on our sunny island of Aruba and at the Oceania Deluxe Beachfront Resort. Unfortunately, despite several efforts the technicians were unable to fix the roof top hot tub during your stay and therefore we apologize and we compensated you monetarily. In the meantime the hot tub has been fixed and is working fine. The grills of the BBQ have been replaced as well.
Oceania is indeed separated from the beautiful Eagle Beach by a narrow beach access road; privately owned condos ON the beach do not exist in Aruba.
We look forward to welcoming you and your family back in the future.
Sunny regards,

We recently spent a week in unit 532. A nice one bedroom unit on the fifth floor with a rooftop terrace and a hot tub. The views were great, the multiple pools were almost always empty (even during Christmas week), and the location was very convenient to everything. After seeing the crowds in the high rise area, we could not have been happier that we were not crammed into a crowded room and fighting for a beach chair.

Three of us rented Arashi 344 for a week in November. The unit was in excellent condition and had an amazing view. Rachel from Prestige and Ivan, the taxi driver Rachel sent to meet us at the airport, went out of their way to make our stay a pleasure. From the welcoming bottle of champagne we found in the fridge from Rachel to the care Ivan took to make sure we always had good transportation, the vacation was wonderful. Highly recommended.

We went to Aruba on suggestions from my wifes co-workers, and I am glad we did. We rented a condo for 5 nights from Prestige Realty at Oceania. Rachel and Derek were great to work with. Upon arrival there was a problem with the AC, and Derek got a hold of repairman and had it fixed very soon after.Coffee pot was leaking and they had a replacement very quickly also.Rachel had a cab waiting at the airport for us and also for drop-off at the airport, both drivers are great. All other times we either walked or took the bus. Every Arubian we talked to was so nice and helpful with directions and suggestions on places to see and eat, this was awesome. The weather was 85-90 degrees everyday with a light breeze that it did not feel hot at all. We rented a truck from ABC tours for a four hour private tour with a driver name Elias( the prophet),and he was great also, we even drove part of the way way while he sat in the back with the rest of our group telling us all about life in Aruba and himself. We went also on a Depalm Tours sailboat tour with snorkeling and snuba. Pay the extra and do the snuba I am so glad that I did. Open bar for 4 hours and lunch on the boat was excellent. The condo has a bus stop right out front that also was very handy. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo on the second floor with a ocean view, but with the trees you might want to be a little higher up. Security was also very friendly. they are at the main gate and also walking around with other access gates that they lock at 10:00 P.M.. The security was reassuring although Aruba is a very safe place and that is the main reason we chose to go there.Renting a condo is great way to see Aruba without the expense of an all inclusive. We are already planning a return trip with a bigger group for fun and sun.
