5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2014 via mobile

I love this place. Hotel had everything u could want while on vacation. Staff was very accommodating and the rooms were clean and current. We had a full ocean view with a balcony so waking up to the amazing view every morning was worth every penny we paid. Would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking to visit this perfect island of Aruba

Erna is the best. The hotel should give her a raise she is sooooooo helpful. They are lucky to have her.

The Tradewinds is the only way to go!!!!! The food is great and the service is excellent. They help you in any way possible and it makes your trip be carefree. The accomodations are good as well.

I recently visited the Marriott Aruba Resort and Stellaris Casino, on the Island of Aruba, and could not have had a better time. Traveling with my father and brother, we arrived at the resort and were immediately welcomed by friendly warm faces. We checked in with Erna, who could not have been more hospitable and informative. She made sure to know each of our names and checked in with us throughout our trip to make sure everything was going well. Through Erna, we upgraded our last night to the Tradewinds Club, which was a great experience that we highly recommend. Overall I would say our vacation experience was a 10 out of 10 and we will definitely be back!

Three days before we even got to this hotel we were contacted by phone and email to welcome us. When we walked into the beautiful lobby we were delighted to find a wonderfully friendly staff and very welcoming hosts in every employee we encountered. Some manager is doing a very good job. This team understands hospitatlity and their true desire to please you comes through in every encounter. I'm a pretty demanding former NY'er so I expect the best, well you get it here. The food at the hotel is very good and if folks want to complain about prices they must not have traveled much in the islands. Do you think it is cheap to get good food on an island that is close to Venezuela (5 hour lines for bread recently) and hours by plane from the USA. Well it's not but the hotel does a great job of offering all different price food options. The Ruth's Chris steakhouse in the hotel is perhaps the nicest staffed and best tasting Ruth's Chris I've ever been to including New Orleans, Georgetown, Washington, DC, Hong Kong, Taipei and many more. Right in the hotel and it was wonderful. Our waiter from the Phillipines was a pure joy to talk to and the entire staff was like the rest of the hotel, super friendly. The rooms were clean and although the carpet is a little dated, the rest of the room, the flat screen tv's, furnuitre, lighting etc are all up to date and nice. The pool area is wonderful and during spring break was not that crowded. The reviews I read before we got here made it seem like you can't get a chair at the pool. Well, if you sleep late you lose. That's the same anywhere unless you get a private bungalow in Anguilla. But back to the real world, get up early, take your pick. Kid friendly and classy, this hotel has become my family's favorite and we have been to a ton of beautiful hotels in the islands. Being a Marriott just makes it even better. The beds were not firm and that was the only bad thing I could say, otherwise it's just a great place to visit.

Room Tip: all the rooms are great, no need to pick a room. I just took an average room and we have a pool to...

Second time staying at Marriott properties, and not disappointed. Gracious hospitality -- all staff more than accommodating -- even those serving you drinks on the beach are happy and content and welcoming -- especially Juan. What a sweetheart! As well as Erna, who, upon arrival, asked if we were celebrating anything special during our trip -- and surprised us by having a complimentary bottle of wine and 2 yummy slices of cheesecake as a way of saying Happy Birthday -- kudos Erna! You're a peach, and I'm sorry we didn't thank you personally while there!

All in all, a wonderful stay, and enjoy the amenities provided by Marriott properties. Only "issue" I had was that we learned that no access to the Lazy River is allowed if not staying at the Surf Club. BIG disappointment -- was looking SO forward to using it a couple of times especially to get out of the wind during a very windy week there. But it was explained to us that since MOST of that property is now OWNED by time share residents that access is no longer allowed unless you are STAYING on that property or a fellow owner. But I feel that as long as it REMAINS a property of the Marriott, that anyone staying in ANY of the Marriott buildings should be allowed access regardless of ownership. We are still paying customers for the week we are there, and didn't like the feeling of being segregated due to our lack of ownership. Feel there should be some way in which to address this issue, but it won't deter me from staying there for future visits.

Thank you for your kind review of our resort, it is very much appreciated. I am happy to hear that Erna made it special for you, I will be sure to pass along your lovely comments to her, she will be thrilled. You also commented on not being able to access other hotels pools, and I can totally understand your disappointment with this. On the other side of the coin, we did recently add our exclusive adult pool which has been a great addition to our property and has created a wonderful oasis for our resort guests. Again thank you for your review and I look forward to welcoming you back to our resort soon.

Always like going back to this resort. Don't discount the pool bar and outdoor restaurant, they have very good sandwiches and pizza is surprisingly good.
We rented a car from Dollar (rent-a-wreck) at the airport. Pitiful service and snooty rental agents. Our car had practically no brakes, was dirty and the alarm key device tricky to use. Also, the wind is so strong at the hotel that the alarm kept going off.

Anyone considering going to Aruba for vacation, do yourself a favor and go to the Marriott. Any of the properties are great to stay in - I've stayed at the Ocean/Surf vacation clubs as well as the hotel. I had a great time in all three locations. The food is pretty good, but since everything is imported, it's reasonably pricey. If you stay at the Ocean/Surf clubs, you have the option of having a refrigerator right in your room. You can be cost efficient by going to the store and getting some things to cook right in your room. There are grills outside so you have the "grilling" option as well!

If you have an event that you would like to plan there - work with Ilaina Franco! She's the BESTEST person ever :)....She's incredibly patient and will work with you to make sure you get exactly what you want!

I do recommend this hotel for families with children, and for couples. I definitely recommend one day to rent jeeps and go visit the island. The Surf club has a lazy river, which I've noticed kids truly do enjoy. There are daily activities/entertainmy by the pool which tend to be a croud pleaser since it entices you to do something other than swim/drink/lay down and tan.
