We are staying at the Marriott and figured we would have a fine dining experience at Simply Fish and we were incredibly wrong. We ordered a bottle of wine and it wasn't even the right year, when we tried to communicate this to our waitress it was incredibly difficult because she did not speak any English. When we decided to just take the bottle of red wine with the wrong year, we then realized the bottle was ice cold. Next came our meals which we both ordered the tuna. The tuna was definitely not fresh and tasted super fishy and the side was basically a mound of instant white rice. While the dining experience on the beach was pretty unique, there was a boat parked about 20 feet away blasting music so definitely lost its romantic touch. This restaurant is super expensive with prices around 35 dollars a dish and I'm sure you can find a better FRESH fish restaurant for that price. Bottom line; service was awful, food was awful, and ambience would have been good except for the party boats blaring music. In my opinion, the Marriott would be better off if the ocean opened up its mouth and swallowed simply fish whole. They say simply fish is aruba's best kept secret, and its been kept a secret for a reason. Worst restaurant I have ever been to on vacation.

Romantic oceanfront dining. Service was focused and excellent. Good food. The coconut cake was amazing! Only regret is that we didn't get early enough reservations to watch the sunset.

I made a reservation via the Marriot website and when we arrived at the restaurant they could not find it. The hostess made a big deal with a lot of sighing despite many tables being open. After 10 minutes she finally seated us. The food was okay but the service was lacking. The best part was the location but there are other restaurants on the water with better food and service.

During our trip in the end of May, beginning of June, we enjoyed a wonderful meal at Simply FIsh. We decided to go based on reviews we had read here. The food was truly delicious, from start to finish. Of course the atmoaphere was great, you can't beat ocean front dining! We also enjoyed a great meal at Passions and we both agreed that the food at both places was phenomenal, a bit pricey but it was vacation and those were two splurges. The only thing I have to say is that the service was slow at Simply Fish. The waiter was not very attentive. We had the opposite at Passions and really had nothing bad to say about it. Our waiter at Simply Fish was okay during most of the meal, but once dessert came, he was no where to be found. We gave up waiting and went to look for him, almost giving up and getting a free meal! As we started to walk away after a long wait and search, he miraculously appeared and we settled up. Beyond that, we had no complaints and really enjoyed ourselves.

For our last night inn Aruba, we thought we would enjoy a nice dinner on the water. We had reservations but when we arrived, we had a 15 minute wait even though the table they eventually sat us at was empty the entire time. We then proceeded to sit there for approximate 30 minutes. We saw our waiter once when he brought us water. We had to flag him down to request drinks. We eventually ended up leaving without receiving anything. The atmosphere was wonderful - I wouldn't recommend the rest ...
