Once again I have to disagree with many of the reviews rthat I have read about Pago Pago. I have eaten in many many steakhouses (coming from New York and having to entertain clients) and must admit I was very impressed with the quality of meat and even the way it was perfectly cooked. This is by far better then El Gaucho and Sunset Grill - not even in the same league. Also, I felt the service was great - and even friendly. i dined with two of my children age, 4 months old and 2.and a half years old and while they were making the caesar salad table side, our waiter actually picked up one of our 2.5 year old daughter and showed her how the table side chef was making our salad. Also, being that it was my birthday they even brought out a great piece of cake with a candle free of charge. Also, i was todl that Pago Pago was voted best steakhouse on the island.
Pago pago was fantastic. I truly recommend.

Just had dinner at Pago Pago after a long walk up the beach. The macadamia encrusted grouper was very good but the service dropped immediately after they realized we did not intend to spend $200 for dinner. We won't go back.

We ate at Pago Pago while on our first trip to Aruba. We stayed in the Westin and hadn't planned on eating here but it came highly recommended by several people and we had been out on a day long tour and didn't feel like driving.

The food was good enough, but we thought it was quite pricey. The service was poor at best. We saw two parties get up and leave after sitting down for a while. One was a party of two, the other was a party of at least twelve.

We ordered a ceasar salad prepared table side ($12/person, minimum of two people). The server informed us he was making our salad for us as well as another couple at another table (on a different level). He said it would save him time. While making our salads, he left several times without an explanation, one for quite some time. The salad was OK, but strong on the garlic (and I love garlic).

I had the roasted duck and my husband had the pork sirloin. I think I liked mine better than he liked his. The sauce on my duck was very good. His pork sirloin was huge, but he didn't think it was really that special.

I'm not sure if it was just an off night, they looked like they might have been short-handed. But... our experience was not that good.
