“Service was dismal at best”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

It's too bad when poor service ruins a meal. We were a table of 4 on the patio which was the best part of the night, the ambiance. I had the special which evidently was seabass WITH many bones. I asked for a side of risotto instead of pasta, they said there would be a slight additional charge, it was $20 extra. (not quite "slight". My husband liked his veal, other guest's steak was good too. My girlfriend ordered the chicken parmesan and we all tried the sauce because it was such a joke we were trying to decide whether it was a can of chefboyardee sauce or just plain ol' can of tomato sauce; whichever...it was very bland and boring. Could had dealt with just boring food if the service would have been HALF way decent but it was not. Our server never returned, finally after sitting and piling up up own plates (to give them a clue we were finished) someone brought our bill. Never were we asked if everything was okay, can we bring you anything else, more water/drinks, dessert or coffee? NOTHING! This was our first time to Aruba and we will be going back but never again to this joint. Our friends have a timeshare and are on the island every January, they will never again frequent this establishment either.

“Great Italian Food”
Reviewed January 28, 2014

Loved the menu and the food. The menu is extensive and has items not on most Italian menus. We found the food to be delicious and the service was equally as good. It is not your typical red sauce Italian restaurant. Although we didn't have the pizzas, they looked delicious. We had a bad experience with an Italian restaurant close by, but were pleasantly surprised with this one. I would highly recommend Hostaria da'Vittorio.

“Nice place, good food, moderate service...”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

The highlight of this place is the nice patio seating. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the patio is very attractive and a nice place for dinner. I remember the food being very good but something strange happened where the dinners for our kids came out and the kids started eating and ended up finishing and then sitting around for another 30 minutes before the adult's dinners arrived. No big deal but a little unusual. I would go back and check it out.

“Not as great as people told us it would be”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

We ate here after a few locals who worked at our resort recommended it. The ambiance is nice, then we were sat and the service was rushed. We ordered the bruschetta and it was okay, too oily, I had the caesar salad and it was olive oil w/ parmesan cheese, for an authentic Italian place I expect a real caesar dressing. I ordered the veal parm and my wife ordered lasagna, they were pretty good. We drank the cabernet and the pinot, both were average at best. So overall for the experience we had and for the prices I would not return to this restaurant, there are better places on the island to eat.

“Average food and nice outdoor seating”
Reviewed January 12, 2014 via mobile

We were seating outdoors in a large patio area. It was quiet, great we could hear our whole party of 9 speak at our round table. We ordered a few pasta dishes, veal and pork chop. The pasta dishes were large, almost family style and weren't bad. Everyone enjoyed their dinners and would recommend this restaurant as a good walking alternative close to Hyatt and Playa Linda.
