We spent a lovely Xmas in the forest using the hotel as a base. The food was excellent . Unfortunately one couple was unable to get there due to flooding in the South East but all the other residents were very friendly . Our room was spacious and we were supplied with an extra oil heater to warm it up in the morning due to the cold temperatures outside . Xmas lunch was excellent .

I stayed in Ty Mawr as part of a Murder Mystery night at the location.

The house had beautiful decor and the rooms were quality and spacious.

The evening meal and breakfast were delicious and locally sourced :-)

I highly recommend Ty Mawr, the staff are friendly and very helpful.

Our stay at Ty Mawr was part of a two centre mountain biking week in Wales visiting Brechfa Forest and Coed Y Brenin trail centres - climbing Snowdon on our day off the bikes! After a tough day in the saddle we do like a little luxury and the warm welcome, friendliness, cosy lounge, splendid bedroom and hearty superbly cooked food did certainly not disappoint. The mountain bike trails were tough but we also visited the Welsh National Botanic gardens which were a treat we would recommend. If we revisit this part of Wales we will certainly return to the Ty Mawr

Just back from a weekend here with family. We had room 4 which was huge with a large comfortable bed and great views. The rooms were well decorated with large screen TV and comfortable armchairs. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was the best I have ever had. The scrambled eggs were golden and delicious and the bacon was first class. All the food is locally sourced and suppliers are all listed. The evening meal had a wide choice and was always well cooked and very tasty.
The area is beautiful and there are plenty of walks to go on and places to visit. I would go back again any time. Can't fault it.

We recently celebrated another special family event at Ty Mawr and again the staff came out on top with fantastic hospitality and food.If you're into walking or mountain biking you will not find a better location. This time though was a little different [no mountain biking],so the afternoon was spent in the garden with wonderful sandwiches and a stunning fruit selection [can still taste the peaches!].Evening food was also outstanding,my wife's sea bass, caught in the morning off Burry Port, was the best she'd ever tasted. After dinner was like being at home, only with waiter service,a truly amazing little hotel. I'll be back!! Thanks Annabel & Steve...PJ&SU

We celebrated another special event at Ty Mawr and again were treated wonderfully. We managed to sit on the patio in the sunshine (we are usually gathered by the fire - so the sun was an extra treat) and enjoy the beautiful garden, we had a great afternoon platter and relaxed. There were new members to our party this time and they absolutely loved their room and the hotel in general. Again Annabel and Steve were so welcoming and provided another excellent stay. Food was great especially the freshly caught sea bass and the local beef and lamb were excellent. The host and hostess cannot do enough for you and if you are a dog owner this is a magical find. Peace, tranquility, comfort and a great place to relax with family and friends. Thanks again.

Room Tip: Room 6 is a great room if you take your dog as it is annexed and therefore easy to take pooch out fo...
