“Amazing holiday for you and your dog”
Reviewed November 28, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

We have just returned from an amazing weekend here with our dog. The location was stunning - a stones throw away from Brechfa forest and the mountain, with miles of lovely walks. We also popped over to the beach which was fab.
We stayed in the Old bike Shed which is the smallest of the 3 rentals, but with ingenious use of space, this tiny property felt spacious. It was fully equipped with everything you could need (we even cooked a roast with no problems).
We treated ourselves to a meal cooked by Nikki for our anniversary, and it was gorgeous!
The one and only small niggle I had was not realising the bedroom clock didn't work - it reads 12:30, which upon waking the first morning I thought said 6am and it wasn't until I was up and dressed I realised it was 4:15am....oops. But it did mean I was up in time to watch the sunrise which was amazing!
We will definitely be returning

Oops indeed! So sorry about the clock. We removed the battery when a previous guest said the ticking kept her awake! I didn't want to take the clock down as it looks so lovely. Eek! I'm glad the sunrise (and everything else) was worth it!! Thanks so much for this lovely review - it means a great deal to us to hear how much our guests enjoy their stay and are so helpful to those reading them and considering a visit. Happy Anniversary :)

“We will be back... truly stunning”
Reviewed November 27, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

To all doggy families this is a must for your holidays. Ellie, teagan, grace and Darcie (our 4 legged gang) had an amazing time. We were Greeted like friends by Nikki and Jason , the hay barn is extremely well equipped and scrumptiously cosy. Walking is stunning in the forest... take a good map though footpath signs are a little few and far between!!! beaches are breath taking and from Sept to may many are completely dog friendly with no restrictions. I can not recommend this highly enough it is a beautiful place to completely switch off and relax.

“I'll be back!”

We found this gem via a 'Like' on a FB page, and from the time we booked to the time we arrived I was following all the lovely posts Nikki put up. We were so excited and when we arrived not at all disappointed. We ( me, him and the dog - a cheeky cocker called Oscar), stayed in the Bike Shed, a wonderfully quaint and cosy annexe to Nikki's home. When we arrived, (after a wonderful drive over the mountains), Nikki gave us a wonderful welcome, (heralded by her 3 dogs). She took time to make sure we understood the lay out of the cottage, explained how the TV worked as well as giving us a 'heads up' for the best dog friendly beaches, pubs/restaurants and the forest. The location is wonderful, and while the cottage is small, (a bit like a split level studio - which we knew when we booked), as you are attached to the owner's property you share the best views of the valley.
The beaches are H U G E and as we were there at the end of October there were no restrictions for dogs. And the forest is on your doorstep too.
We took advantage of Nikki's cooking skills and had a wonderful meal prepared for the Friday night we arrived, and enjoyed a 'date night' (sans chien) in the fabulous BBQ Hut. Highly recommended!
Thank you Nikki & Jason for being wonderful hosts; several friends have asked for the website after seeing our piccies!! We hope to be back next year!

“A perfect weekend break”
Reviewed October 16, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Well where do I start this place is truly something special. My husband and I have just returned from a weekend break staying in the old bike shed with our two dogs Jenson and Bobby and we can't wait to come back. First thing first the location is perfect so many places to explore both our pups were shattered every evening I have never know them so quiet. Secondly the BBQ pit we were lucky enough to hire it Saturday evening and all I can say is if you are going to book to stay make sure you also get booked into the BBQ pit I have never seen anything like it the attention to detail is phenomenal and everything you need (apart from alcohol) is provided. Last but not least the host the wonderful Nikki as soon as you meet her you will know you are in good hands. she clearly loves what she has built here and her passion for looking after you is clear. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend x

“Lovely break, great hosts!”
Reviewed October 8, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We stayed in Bay Tree Barn for a long weekend with our two dogs (wayward pup & older girl) and were made to feel very welcome despite having a crazed puppy after a long journey. The barn is equipped with everything you could possibly want and Nikki took the time to go through local facilities, things to do, how things work in the barn etc. There is also a very helpful book with recommendations on things to do in the area. The location is beautiful and quiet, with views you could never tire of, a night sky full of stars and fantastic walks literally on your doorstep. We found the barn to be comfortable, clean and inviting with lots of extra homely touches you don't usually get. Best nights sleep I've had in ages. We spent our time visiting relatives, fantastic beaches and discovering the local area. Cefn Sidan beach at Pembrey is amazing and Llansteffan is well worth a visit. Not enough time in a weekend to do it justice!

“Already waiting to book our next trip!”
Reviewed September 17, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

I was really looking forward to taking our 3 boys away with us for our first holiday. Having three dogs and finding somewhere to stay is always difficult which is why we have put it off for so long. I didn't really know what I was expecting, but WOW. We stayed in the hay barn and it was perfect, the views, the accommodation, the surrounding areas, the local pubs, the beaches, the forest, all just perfect! Staying away from the coast meant we got to travel around and find different places to explore - but on the evenings we wanted to stay in, we were nice and cosy with everything we needed. We even made a roast on the one evening it rained and every utensil we needed was there ready and waiting. Our three boys were made to feel very welcome and the locals were lovely. Whilst at the barn, we watched the sunset over the valley, watched the sunrise on the other side of the valley, and even stargazed at 4am and saw 4 shooting stars where it was so clear. I just wish we had stayed for a few more days! We can't wait to book our next trip. The only thing I'll do next time is bring less food and my pillow! See you next year!
