Well worth a visit. There are stairs to climb in order to appreciate the overall ambiance. Take your camera.

Going to the Arikok park, which became cash cow, is kinda expensive. Instead we decide to stop at the Grotto and see more of the location and then turn back to 1A. Too bad didn't knew about geocaching item, maintained there

After leaving Charlie's Bar we decided to venture up to Lourdes Grotto to see the Christmas lights. The Grotto was lit up and very pretty but the main attraction was down the road on the other side. It was a house that is decorated every year. Since it was January 3rd I wasn't sure what to expect. The Christmas display is actually quite impressive and it's a walk through display with a snack bar. I am not sure if other houses on this hill participate in lighting their houses but at this late date there was only one. Another cool thing is the fabulous nighttime view from above.

If you come to Aruba for the beaches, this is probably not the place for you. But if you want to see something offbeat and off the beaten track, then it is worth a few minutes extra while on the south end of the island. Very much dedicated to Catholicism and the Virgin Mary. A quiet place for reflection. I even know a local psychologist who goes here to do therapy with his clients because it is so quiet and has few visitors. Enjoy!

Problem with this site is that it is difficult to find. We drove by it probably three times before we realized that we were there. It is also not an overly impressive site and one whose failure to see should not cause anyone to lose sleep about.
