We just returned from staying at Tamarijn All Inclusive resort. The weather was wonderful. Hotel is average, with a few needed upgrades, but overall a nice place. There is a boardwalk on the ocean side of the resort, that runs the whole length of the resort, and paved pathways on the back side. Ramp to the pool area, steps to get into pool. Rooms are small, non handicap room is quite small. If your not able to walk long distances there is a tram that goes by every few minutes and will take you to the main areas. (Rooms in 1900 block are very quiet).

Food at buffet was average buffet food. Breakfast had a very good selection, lunch was average, and dinners we choose to have reservations in one of the restaurants.

Very nice gym with a surprising amount of equipment. Personal trainor, Shar was very friendly, and helpful. Very nice person to work with.

Resort has security walking around, day and night for any problems. (Sliding doors in rooms are not very secure when locked, and they have a 1x1 to help secure the door at night- but it did not work correctly as the length was to long in room 1913). Security did knock on our sliding door one night around 11:30pm to advise us that the door was not locked. So they are trying to make everyone safe.

Nice place for a relaxing vacation. If your a sun lover this is the place. Laid back resort. Middle of the road price wise. If your looking for luxury and excitement, this would not be for you. Quiet, and relaxed vacation...try the Tamarijn Resort. Overall, we will return again.

The beaches in Aruba are too beautiful to pass up on your travel. I felt Aruba lacked in individual culture, but it was still warm and nice to see. The landscape is very arid, so do not expect the typical, lush tropical landscape of other islands. The grass has to have sprinklers there, if that helps explain it. It is very hot and humid there, as well. The beaches work wonderfully to cool you off, since the water is always very fresh. The food is delicious every where you go and reasonbly priced. There are many tours offered, and the snorkeling is great. Aruba is great for a relaxing getaway. Wear sunblock! I wore SPF 80 and still burned!

Oranjestad, Aruba
L.G. Smith Blvd
Downtown Shopping
Shopped on 5 August 2013. The downtown shopping area is full of colorful buildings, all types of eating places, the cruise ship port, flea market areas, Renaissance Mall, and the marina. Do your shopping when in Aruba and pay attention to details. Palm Beach has a mall also and shopping as well as downtown. Compare prices all over. This has become my favorite place to travel to. Like the two big signs that say "I Love Aruba" is so true. The people are friendly and happy. They love their tourist and do their best to keep you happy. If you can't be happy and at peace here, then you might want to check your personality. Since we rent a car when we come to Aruba, the tourist side is not the same as the majority of the island living. Most are just making it. But when driving through those other areas (only speaking from daytime experience) I never felt unsafe. I have been to the desert with the military and always stay on alert to many things, but never had ever felt unsafe. Just be careful because the drinking age is 18 and that is how young adults tend to get in trouble. You also have people from all different countries on this little island. Any where during travel always travel in groups and never leave a friend any where. But overall you will Love this little island.

Aruba is a fantastic island to visit. The people are very friendly and really make visitors welcome.Everyone of the islanders are happy & smiling and this is why Aruba is known as "The Smiling Island".The island is very clean and fabulous for sightseeing.I found nothing to dislike about Aruba. There is very little, if any crime, as everyone has a job and therefore an income. This was explained to me by a tour driver native to the island. There is no dole.If you don't have a job the government will give you a job.If you have nowhere to live the government will rent you a home. You pay the rent for 25 years and then you own the property.A brilliant system and it works.I have visited the island twice on cruise ships and it is the friendliest and safest place i have ever visited.Thoroughly recommended.
