“Absolutely Amazing!!”
Reviewed September 1, 2010

My wife and I just got back from spending our honeymoon on Aruba. I had never been to Aruba and I didn't really know what to expect. I have been to several places and this was by far my favorite vacation.

The Divi Village Beach and Golf Resort was an excellent choice for us. The high-rise area is great for the party and large crowd scene, but if you're just looking to relax and get away from all the hype this resort is perfect! Divi has four resorts all within walking distance of the Divi Village Beach and golf resort. The other three resorts are all right on the beach and the Divi Village is just across a small street. As a guest, you have access to all four of the Divi resorts within the area and there are shuttles that will take you to each one if you don't want to walk.

As mentioned, the beach is located right across a small street from the resort. There are beach chairs and huts that are always available to use (no matter what time you go). The beach is absolutely gorgeous with soft white sand and turquoise blue water. There is also a water sports place where you can get rafts, snorkel equipment, and schedule activities.

The rooms at this resort are also extremely nice. If possible, try to get a room in the "Links" part of the resort. The "Links" are part of the golf area of the resort. All of these units are extremely modern and updated. Flat screen televisions, brand new kitchen appliances, brand new bathroom fixtures, and a ton of space. We had a one bedroom unit that was bigger than most apartments.

All Inclusive or Not? If you're debating the all inclusive here is my advice. We decided to not go with the all inclusive and we saved a ton of money. There is NOO WAY you could eat and drink enough to make it worth the all inclusive. And most of the bars and restaurants will allow you to charge stuff to your room. It also gives you a chance to experience some of the local restaurants, which were all very awesome! The best restaurant selection is towards the high-rise hotel area, which is only a couple minute drive from this resort. Definitely check out the high-rise section if you get a chance. The beach up there is gorgeous and it's fun to check out the shops and attractions in that area.

If you're planning any excursions, I would highly recommend the "Mi Dushi" snorkel tour. It is a large sailboat that takes off from the high-rise area at 9:30am and goes til 2:00pm. It takes you to 3 snorkel spots and includes lunch and all you can drink for only $50 a person. The snorkeling was awesome, the crew was very fun, food was pretty good, and the drinks were soooo amazing! For $50 it was an amazing deal! You can make a reservation at their website.

If you wanted, you could spend all of your time at the resort because of their Amazing pool area and beach. However, I would definitely explore the island because it has so much to offer. As mentioned, check out the high-rise area, maybe schedule a boat tour, and lastly, take a trip to Baby Beach. It takes about a half hr to get there but it is such a gorgeous beach. It's protected by a man made stone wall so it's just like a giant swimming pool with gorgeous water and such white sand. Even though there is public transportation and taxis, we rented a car and absolutely loved it. "Smart Rent a Car" is a very inexpensive company and it is so convenient to be able to go wherever you want whenever you want.

Absolutely great resort and an absolutely amazing island!! You will not regret staying at the Divi Village Golf and Beach Resort and you will not regret visiting Aruba. I plan on going back as soon as possible!!

This was our family vacation for Spring Break and our first time in Aruba. We had a great time and loved the resort and the island. We had heard so much about Aruba and finally we booked out trip, we love All Inclusive Resorts in the Islands. The Divi Village Resort and Golf was great, even though it is across the street from the beach it is an easy walk. The rooms was very spacious and roomy with kitchen and two bathrooms. It was very clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Since the Divi has 4 hotels next to each other we ate at a different restaurant every night for 6 nights that we were there. The food was fresh, good and every night they had a different theme. We rented a car one day and traveled the island from one point to the other. We had a great time sight seeing, eating and spending the day with the family. We went to Baby Beach which is a must for every person going to Aruba after having a hard time getting there because there are no signs. We have been to several islands and Aruba is our favorite one now.
The Divi Resorts are great for family even though it is away from all the other hotels and shopping but we took the bus and got there in 10 minutes, the bus stop is in front of the Hotel and they come by every 15 minutes. We will come back and stay at the Divi.

My husband and I stayed at the Divi Golf and Beach Resort from July31st until August 10th. The first week we stayed in the newest section on the resort and it was wonderful! The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had everthing you could have wanted. Even though it was a studio, it had a full kichen, a washer and dryer in the room, large bathroom, and a beautiful balcony. The pool was gorgeous and the beach outstanding. Mulligan's Restaurant was always a great choice and Windows on Aruba is a definite must!
Now for the unpleasant portion of the trip. For the last 3 nights we had to move to another room because the resort said that the owners were requesting that next week. That would have been OK but we were given a room that did not even come close to the room we had been in. We were moved to room 8202 (look out for that room number if you are checking in!). The room was in an older section of the resort and awful. It was smaller (but still big enough), and soooooo run down!!! The refrigerator actually had huge patches of rust, the tub was not fully attached to the wall or floor and smelled like mold, the floor around the sliding doors leading to the balcony were literally encrusted with filth, and the balcony itself was terrible. The kitchette was a fraction of what was in the other room as was the tiny TV. The only saving value was that the beach was so nice, we didn't have to spend that much time in this room.
The resort is attractive but my husband and I aren't sure if we will ever be going back beacuse we were told that we could not be guaranteed a room in the newest section of the resort. I can't give this resort a resoundind thumbs down but we go to Aruba every year and next year we are going back to Marriott's Ocean Club!!!

"Weather is like this 365 days a year" the taxi driver tells us as we race from the airport to the village. Its 90 degrees out, slight breeze and no humidity. The rid eto the village was interesting, I now know what its like to be a passanger in a NASCAR race. The check in was interesting, they had our check in the wrong week. According to the front desk we were a week early. After 35 minutes the problem was resolved and we were headed to our room. Second floor overlooking the pool and the golf course. Room was clean and plenty of linens and towels. The bar/resturaunt there "mulligans" was a bit pricey it seemed (they all are no matter where you go), but the food was good. Service was really slow, probably didnt help the super bowl was going to be on in 2 hours. I tried the bar there a few days later and service was great then. The infinity pool was awesome, you can charge drinks to your room, which is a plus when you dont want to carry cash in the pool. We didnt get to golf, but all the people coming in the bar seemed to like the 9 hole course. I would recomend to stay at an all-inclusive though, groceries for the room were out of this world.

My Husband and I got married out in Aruba july 09 & we had our honeymoon at this resort. It was a perfect place to stay for the occasion. The resort up-graded our room from a studio to a 1 bedroom suite for free, and have to say, we never wanted to leave!
The room was so spacious. Our view of the golf cousre & resort was amazing. It's a good 10-15 minute walk to the ocean, but it's well worth it. Along the way you can see the golf course or even stop in for a drink halfway to or from the beach. If you don't want to work your legs on vacation, you could even take rides on a golf cart to the beach, which the resort provides.for free The staff is so nice and very helpful. I will come back to this resort again and again.

This property is nothing but GORGEOUS!

Room: We were stunned with how beautiful, spacious and wonderful our room was. It was a 1 bedroom with a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, washer/dryer, master bedroom and 2 balconies, it was a mini apartment. We also had a roof top hot tub! We loved it!

Food: We were on the all inclusive package so we were able to dine at Divi Golf & Beach and also the two properties across the street, Tamarijn and Divi. For lunch we always ate at Mulligans, it has a variety of food and great quality. The drinks were amazing, top shelf liquor, who could ask for more? If you're on the all inclusive, you wont want to drink anywhere but at Mulligans. Ginger, which is a resturant at the Tamarijn was asain cuisine and was to die for! We ended up eating there twice in our 7 nights there. Red Parrot at the Divi property, wasn't as good as all of the reviews I had read on here said but that's just a personal opinion. We are not buffet people by any means so I can't give a review on the buffet food for we never ate there. We were super lazy when it came to making dinner reservations so we weren't able to experience the other resturants that the properties had to offer. Mulligans is awesome for dinner though, we loved the wide variety of things to choose from. No room service which was a little bit of a let down, for us people who like staying up really late, it's nice to be able to order food 24 hours a day. No biggie though.

Service: SLOW! Goodness the service everywhere is just SLOW! On average we would be at a resturant for an hour and a half to two hours. It started to become a joke between my boyfriend and I, trying to guess how long it would take for our server to come back with what we had asked for. On one occasion we sat at the pool bar at the Tamarijn for 13 minutes before someone asked us what we would like to drink and that was after I had said "excuse me sir" 3 times! I understand they're on "island time" but this was a little disappointing. :-/

Activities: We are quite the adeventure seekers so we choose to rent quads and do our own thing. George's cycles is a well known company in Aruba for ATV rentals. The rental was pretty reasonable, 8 hours for $120, not bad at all! We were provided a map with all of the things to see along the way. We went to the California Lighthouse, nothing special, in my opinion. The natural pool is crazy to get to! If you're not adventurious, don't even try. The rocks are huge and the terrian is rough! We ended up off the path and got a little lost but ended up making it, finally! It's awesome and totally worth it! Along the way we saw rock formations and caves. All together, renting the quads and making your own "adventure" was the best way to go! At the Tamarijn they provide wind surfing lessons which my boyfriend really enjoyed, make sure you get there early to sign up as we found out the hard way one day and was unable to go that day.

Casino: Every night we hit the casino. There is a golf cart that will take you there, it is quite a walk otherwise. Being from Vegas and having casinos open 24/7, we were surprised that the one in Aruba closed at 4AM but on the bright side, we were able to get sleep every night because of it! We walked away up every night so we loved it!

Beach: The beach is gorgeous! No seaweed and the prettiest blue I've ever seen. Every time I was at the beach it never felt crowded and there were was always plenty of chairs, which was nice! My only complaint, I wish the bar was a little closer or they had waitresses walking up and down the beach for drinks.

Overview: This vacation was amazingly relaxing and loads of fun! Besides the slow service, we enjoyed every minute of it and would return back to the property tomorrow is we could. The food, room and activities all exceeded our expections and I would recommened this property to everyone.

Stayed in one of the newly refurbished studio rooms in the Golf section of the resort. Room overlooked the vast swimming pool and was only a two minute walk to the beautiful Divi beach. Staff were helpful and friendly, room cleaned everyday, rooms well equipped and the shuttle golf buggy service allows you to get around the resort with ease. Only critique would be food at the on-resort restaurants was overpriced for what appeared to be a fairly standard westernized menu. Head on into town for some better seafood!
