We will never stay in any of the Divi's again thanks to this resort. Our room was on the 2nd floor, no elevator with our golf bags and luggage. Our room had MOLD in the shower, in the bathroom, and in the sleeping room on the ceiling. We asked them to move us and they told us they didn't have another room available. The glasses/silverware they provide you with was dirty. It was disgusting and I can't believe we spent 2 nights here. NEVER AGAIN!!

We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration that you experienced while with us and despite not being pleased with our resort, we do hope that the remainder of your stay on island was pleasant enough and that you were able to return home with favorable memories of your stay on Aruba.

The Divi Golf Village was a great resort. The unit was a large one bedroom with its own washer/dryer. We were on the third floor which gave us access to a hot tub and a gas grill for our personal use. The unit was clean and welcoming. The staff at the resort were always very helpful and knowledgeable.

Let me start by saying we would have never picked a stay in Aruba if it wasn't for the Living Social deal. We are West Coasters and it was a trek to get here from Palm Desert but we were looking for a beach/golf vacation and this seemed like a great deal. Aruba is beautiful and the golf course is in good shape. I am a self proclaimed foody and I am amazed at the quality of the food. What is conflicting is the odd set of rules here. Because of the length of our journey I added 2 days to our stay on top of our 7 day deal... It takes 2 days of travel... So it was worth the extra stay.... What I didn't expect was all the confusion about it. When we checked in a horrible man named Renee helped us.... Mind you we just spent 14 hours traveling with lost luggage and he informed us that we would have to change rooms on our 7th day but they would try to accommodate us. I was mad but just hoped for the best. Exhausted and without luggage we went to our room only to find the door wide open and the lock not working, the hotel not willing to change our room we left the door open and went to eat came back and the lock was fixed. Went to bed, the next morning 8 am, 5 am our time the drilling and banging started. Since we booked with Living Social we just assumed that was part of our deal and sucked it up for the week... What I think is odd was when we wanted to keep our room for the extra 2 days that Renee gave us grief.... Anyone else would have thrown a complete fit over the noise..... They finally agreed to let us keep our room, but what a mess, first they made us check out, then the next day made us get new room keys and then didn't give us a new resort card at that time, made us come back for that too... Seems like people would add extra days to there time share stays all the time, there has to be a better way. I also think its funny that they gave us grief when we wanted to play golf.... Barely a sole on the course but we have to make tee times and the pool restaurant closes breakfast at 11am.... 8am our time. Also note that if you pay for Internet access it only allows one device even when that device is logged out. Not very accommodating accommodations. With a little effort from the management this could be 5 stars, it just misses the mark.

But our highlights are the Sunset Bar with Franklin.... The wait staff were very professional, our room had a great Ocean view and is stylish and updated.

Room Tip: Make sure when you book to ask if the building you are staying in is under any remodeling.

I've been a time share unit owner for almost 14 years and I have to say that this last trip to the resort was a bit disappointing.

I stayed at one of the villas in the older section of the resort. It had been quite some time since I had been back to my home resort and boy was I a bit disappointed at the upkeep of the unit. It seems that lately most of the focus and resources have been to develop the Links area of the resort and to upgrade the older units. These villas don't need a whole lot of maintenance but some things should be replaced or refurbished such as the gas grills on the roof decks, the covers on the hot tubs and some of the appliances. I missed the way things used to run at this resort. It's the little things that make a difference such as finding some supplies to tie you over until the next day when the supermarkets are open.

Most of the staff was friendly but my friend and I did encounter some not so helpful staff. As mentioned by some other reviewers, the shuttle would often take forever to come and it was not unusual for people to wait as long as 40 minutes even when someone would call for one. This would be unacceptable at other resorts.

I still love the location of the resort as it is not too far from downtown Oranjestad and a fifteen minute bus ride from the high rise area. The common areas are still kept up nicely as well as the pools so not all is bad. Mulligan's restaurant at the Links was good in a pinch. It had a decent menu with reasonable prices.

The entertainment offered at the all-inclusive sister resorts was one of the few bright spots. The carnival show is a must see as well as some of the local bands. A schedule of the activities and nightly entertainment at the different resorts was provided upon check-in.

I hope that management addresses some of these issues. I would love to come back next year and see an overall improvement regarding these concerns.

Our family of five travelled to Aruba November 2011 for our annual winter vacation and stayed at the Divi Village Golf and Beach Resort. The condos were very well maintained and the property was lush and beautifully kept. We were in a studio suite with a kitchenette. The views were towards the beach from our balcony and were enjoyed on a daily basis. There was one large pool that extended throughout the resort with a slide and a swim up bar as well as a infinity edge. With staying at this resort we were able to share other resorts ammenities across the street at The Tamarjn and the Divi Resort. Food at all the a la cartes was fabulous. The beaches are amazing! Druif Beach was never crowded. We always managed to get a great spot and always close to a beach front bar. Sand is white and soft. Shell hunting is pretty good. Mostly white shells. The water is so turqoise, it's unbelievable! Our kids loved that the water was always warm and took advantage of some great snorkelling. The employee's at all the resorts were very friendly and helpfull to us as well as friends who were also travelling with our family. Renting a car is recommended to see this island as well as shopping in Palm Beach. Airport was easy to get into and out of even with kids. we are definately returning in March 2013.

Room Tip: Take a top floor facing towards beach.

Divi Dutch Village is a condo style time share resort that rents out rooms as a hotel as well. The resort is about 100 feet from the beach, with the Tamarijn hotel obstructing the view of the ocean unless you have a 3rd floor room. Usually rooms overlook pools which are shared with the Tamarijn resort. We typically go in September, and it is pretty deserted. Get up before 8 am to reserve yourself a palapa on the beach, and sit back and relax to enjoy the sounds of the ocean. We do not do the all inclusive option. Typically we hit the Super Foods grocery store, which is about a 5-10 minute walk and make breakfast and lunch for ourselves, then go to a nice restaurant for dinner.

The rooms are OK, 3 star, but we don't spend much time in there. We've stayed in the 1 bedroom, studio, and a really small studio. The bigger studio is nice, but for us the 1 bedroom suite is excellent, since it has the best patio/balcony. We've stayed at this hotel 5 times, and enjoyed it every time.

My only complaint is we frequently have trouble checking in. You really have to make sure they give you the same class of room that you booked.

Room Tip: Get the one bedroom suite.

The room was huge and clean – We had a 1 bedroom unit that had a galley kitchen, dining area, living room, ½ bath and patio on the first floor and a large bedroom with two closets and a full bath on the second floor. They have Dish for TV, so I was actually able to watch the Thursday night football game which I can’t do at home (Go Giants!). There is also a DVD player. The kitchen has no oven, but it does have a convection/microwave (it’s vacation – stop cooking!). The bed was comfortable. The unit did not have a view of the beach, but that is never an issue for us. While these buildings are older, they are well maintained. The grounds are beautiful and clean. The 3 pools are nice – each different, however, our preferred pool is across the street at the Divi Golf Resort. It is an infinity pool with a swim up bar (the bar also offers sandwiches, hot dogs and ice cream). There is a water slide, as well. The beach is an extremely short walk from the room. There are free chairs and permanent umbrellas made of palms all along the beach. Be sure to get out there by 7:30 in the morning if you want to get under one of these umbrellas, as people tend to save them, but then never even show up during the day. The location is excellent if you want to save some money and don’t go all inclusive. You can walk to three supermarkets. Also, if you are looking to save some money, check which on-property bars have happy hours and when they have them They are not always at the same time. I recommend renting a car for at least 2 days to explore the island (I rent for my entire stay) as the best snorkeling is north or south of the DIVI resorts and the dunes and lighthouse are certainly worth a visit. The new check-in location at the Golf Resort is huge and all 4 times I went over there, I was the only person so everything was fast. And the people that work at the report are extremely nice. We do not own here but we do plan on returning.

Room Tip: Try to get the 2 level one bedroom unit.
