They do a buffet that includes some local foods for lunch. The services is always very good. It definitely beats eating a cheeseburger before you sit on a plane.

This seems like a tremendously misplaced concept. A restaurant at the airport - why? It is not part of the food court and is a distraction for travelers either coming or going and is not really an attraction for anyone who has arrived and is in the middle of their vacation. The food is mediocre and the service is poor. We hope that someone will re-evaluate what they are trying to do here.

Normally, we get to ARUBA once a year but this year circmstances were such that we made a second short trip partially motivated by a desire to see if we had missed something at this place and because of certain information that we had received about the place.

Unfortunately, we did not miss anything on our prior trip to this place and the information received was simply that the concept of the place was more for the airport staff than travelers. That concept may have some merit to it. However, we do not see how that diminishes our other concerns that the food, service, and ambiance of this place do not warrant a visit to it. Nor do we see the POR KILO concept as anything that is especially new. It essentially simply is a make your own salad or buffet type of presentation - for which you are paying roughly $8.50+ a pound (which is roughly what $2.00 per 100 grams translates to) and, as reasonable as that might be, one can do better. And, again, do you really want to go to the airport to partake of that type of deal!

We have additionally learned that the founder of RUMBAS was joined by the founder of YEMANJA to establish this place and we continue to believe that their expansionary objectives have adversely impacted upon their current other operations. We have dined at YEMANJA from its opening and have generally been satisfied there (so much so that we used to eat there twice each time we visited ARUBA). It has only been in the last two years or so that we have noted an inconsistency in their performance and we noted it without knowing that its founder had branched out (now, as a result we only eat there once each trip and that is subject to review depending on our next few experiences there). Whenever one spreads oneself too thin quality invariably suffers and this is what seems to have happened to YEMANJA and the other related ventures

Our visit this time was similar to that experienced by larawill - poor service and mediocre food. It is not a place for travelers or tourists - it is for the airport staff and we should all honor that position by not patronizing the place. There are far too many better eating venues around. This forum is for Travelers and Tourists - it is not for local airport employees (who are, nonetheless, welcome to read and take what they will from the forum). And advertised free parking and WIFI are not and should not be inducements to dine here - what type of silly inducement is that anyways? "We have free parking and WIFI so you should eat here" - REALLY, when is the last time you ate free parking or WIFI and what did it taste like? As we have said before of this place BE SERIOUS because this place apparently isn't! We would recommend to the founders that they return to their roots and spend their time attending to their other restaurants before they decline beyond repair - ARUBA is a very competitive restaurant market, every customer should be regarded as a precious gem and every effort should be made to retain them. Lose them and you lose the game.

“Before your flight home”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

This is inside the airport area, but before you enter to check in for your flight it's to the left, outside. It's a combo of buffet style, plus cooked while you watch. Good food, and quick, so great place to catch a meal before your flight. Better & calmer atmosphere than inside the airport.
