Description: Aruba is all about the fabulous beaches during the day, and the many great restaurants at night. It is only logical that these two unique things of Aruba are combined into one! Luc & Gerco found the perfect spot to synergize great food, and a beautiful setting to create an experience almost unique on our island. When listening to the ocean caressing the shore, while wiggling your toes through the pearly white sand, why not let yourself be pampered by a gourmet dinner? Chef Gerco & Maitre d' Luc had a shared dream of opening up a restaurant here, but wanted something in line with what they enjoy on Aruba: the nearly perfect climate, the possibility to always be outside, the tropical feel... When opening their restaurant, they had these ideas in their heads, and it worked like a charm! Tables under a large palapa on a wooden deck with a view of the ocean, or outside under the Aruban nights sky, on the pristine beach... An original menu was created by Gerco and team, with some of the old school favorites as well as locally influenced dishes. With the help of the local wine suppliers, Luc made an extensive wine list, with wines from all over the world, and is always ready to pair a wine with your dinner. The experienced service team is friendly yet professional, ready to wow you from the moment you walk in, to make a fabulous evening into a great memory on Aruba!

On the way down we sat next to a couple that have been coming to Aruba for 33 years. We asked for recommendations. They prefer sand and sunset locations. The recommended Barefoot, so for our last night in town we decided to try it out - we were not disappointed! Between the four of us we had the weekly special - Grouper, a Dutch skirt steak, the pork and the chicken and pineapple - all were very, very good. We also had the calamari and the dressing on the greens with the calamari was great. We finished with the Strawberry Lime pie which was a great finish to the dinner. It was a dinning experience! Oh and the sunset was great and the views of downtown at night were also a pleasant surprise.

I went with a group of seven and we split three appetizers between us: crab cakes, scallops, and escargot. All three dishes were really, really good. So, I had high expectations for the main course. Unfortunately we were all disappointed. I ordered the special, grouper in a creamy truffle sauce, but the sauce was really mayonnaisy. The fish was nice but the sauce completely ruined it. My fiancée ordered scallops, lobster, and shrimp but it was all overcooked. The lobster was so chewy I had to spit it out. For dessert, we ordered key lime pie and it was scrumptious. I really like the ambiance here too with several tables right on the beach with really nice lighting. Overall, I’d come back but just order appetizers for dinner.

We tried Barefoot for the first time, and it was a great experience. The food was great, all around, and the service was even better. The prices are higher, but you get what you pay for here. And then, of course, there are tables right on the beach, lit up by tiki torches. We had a great dinner, and would definitely return.

Having been to Aruba quite a few times, we wanted to try someplace new with our adult children. We used Trip Advisor for suggestions, and decided on Barefoot. We made a reservation for 30 minutes before sunset and weren't disappointed with our table on the beach. We got to see a beautiful sunset and most everyone really enjoyed their meals. My only slight complaint was that my mahi was a little overcooked. We shared the Grand Dessert, which included Creme Brûlée, Key Lime Pie, Apple Strudel, and other small delights. It was enough to top off all the meals. The service was impeccable by the attentive staff. We will definitely return on another visit to the happy island.

The view, the sand, the service and the food made Barefoot on the Beach one of my very favorite restaurants in Aruba. We also appreciated the manager teaching us how to take pictures into the sunset in order to capture it perfectly. The Seafood Ragout hot appetizer was the best item on the menu. It had chunks of lobster, grouper, and other fresh fish in a sauce that was served in a pastry shell. I could have ordered two for my entrée. It was wonderful! The blackened mahi mahi was also delicious as was the Pork Tenderloin Chimichurri. The couple we were with was celebrating an anniversary and the staff brought out a beautiful dessert with a flaming sparkler. This was a great restaurant to which we will return.
