Description: Aruba is all about the fabulous beaches during the day, and the many great restaurants at night. It is only logical that these two unique things of Aruba are combined into one! Luc & Gerco found the perfect spot to synergize great food, and a beautiful setting to create an experience almost unique on our island. When listening to the ocean caressing the shore, while wiggling your toes through the pearly white sand, why not let yourself be pampered by a gourmet dinner? Chef Gerco & Maitre d' Luc had a shared dream of opening up a restaurant here, but wanted something in line with what they enjoy on Aruba: the nearly perfect climate, the possibility to always be outside, the tropical feel... When opening their restaurant, they had these ideas in their heads, and it worked like a charm! Tables under a large palapa on a wooden deck with a view of the ocean, or outside under the Aruban nights sky, on the pristine beach... An original menu was created by Gerco and team, with some of the old school favorites as well as locally influenced dishes. With the help of the local wine suppliers, Luc made an extensive wine list, with wines from all over the world, and is always ready to pair a wine with your dinner. The experienced service team is friendly yet professional, ready to wow you from the moment you walk in, to make a fabulous evening into a great memory on Aruba!

We have been going to Aruba for since 1969, when no one knew it existed. Over the years, we have been to quite a few restaurants on the island. We have our favorites and Barefoot on the Beach is one of them. It is across the street from the Talk of the Town Motel at the roundabout. We go there at least once or twice while on Aruba. The food, service and ambiance is excellent! Even if you sit "inside", on the deck, you are really sitting outside. If you get there at sunset, it is beautiful. It is a lovely, romantic restaurant, with great food!

We have been going to Barefoot for a few years now and are still pleased every time. Luke, the owner, is just the kindest person and always strives to make sure we have an exceptional time. We do. You want reservations here, they fill up fast. When I say this though, it does not mean they pack people in. They have the perfect amount of tables that are so spread out, you can't even here the people next to you talking (unless its a large group of course). Some of the other fine dining restaurants on the island have a reputation for packing people in like sardines, you will not experience that at Barefoot. Try for 6-6:30 so you can watch the sunset during your meal. You can sit on the beach or on the patio, both are great. The servers are fantastic. They obviously know what they're doing and do al they can to make sure you have everything you need. The food. I can't say enough about the food. It is amazing! And it's consistent every time. He has a variety of choices so there's an option for everyone it seems. If he has the calamari on special, GET IT! You will not be disappointed. If you want a fine dining, on the beach, sunset experience while visiting the island, Barefoot should be your #1 choice, hands down.

The food and atmosphere were very good. We ate at night on the beach in our bare feet. It is romantic here. It's about a 15 minute cab ride from the hyatt regency.

It was the only place we visited a second time during our week-long stay in Aruba... there was just something very special about it. The atmosphere, the sunset, the food.... two very perfect evenings.

The location on the beach is amazing. While it's true, as others have mentioned, there is another bar next door, you don't really become distracted. I made reservations for 630 as I knew the sunset would take place while we were dining. That was such a plus to observe the beautiful sunset. The menu choice are plentiful and none of us had a bad meal. We ordered cocktails before dinner and they all were top shelf. My wife order the grouper with a mango cream cheese sauce, my daughter ordered the pork tenderloin (not a seafood fan) and I had the peppered tuna steak. They all were fantastic. Two desserts were shared, the banana tiramisu and apple strudel were very good. The service was terrific as well. The price is no more expensive in comparison the the other restaurants of any quality in Aruba. You truly get what you pay for and here you get so much more than just a meal.
