“Walking distance from Divi”

Went to restaurant based on trip advisor reviews. Dinner was acceptable . Service was very slow. Best part was that we didn't have to pay for a cab ride.

“Are you kidding me??”
Reviewed January 1, 2014 via mobile

We have been going to Aruba for over 30 years and have been to all the "top, big name" restaurants, and are always looking for new finds.my sister and her family raved about The Kitchen, but we thought she was being overly exuberant when describing the restaurant. Our family finally made it over to The
kitchen, and were we surprised! everything we ordered was top notch. We started with the margherita pizza( awesome) and an order of California roll, which my son said was amongst the best he's ever had. we had four main dishes, the stir fry with shrimp, one stir fry with surf and turf, the grouper Milanese, and The tenderloin steak in a merlot reduction sauce. Each dish was better than than the next. We couldn't decide which was best. All came with the freshest vegetables, a double stuffed potato, and rice and beans, wow! We had one glass of wine and 2 desserts,( they were out of bananas foster, our only disappointment of the night) and our tab for the 4 of us with tip came to 125$. We really loved the restaurant, although decor was just average. Service was great, super friendly and attentive. We just can't wait to go back, but they are closed on Sunday nights,so we are out of luck for this year, but we will be back next year for sure

“Escargot to die for!”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Inexpensive compared to meals we've had at other places. Escargot to die for...served in a bread bowl, seasoned with fresh vegetables and cheese. So good that we went back the next day and purchased two portions for take out. Soups are superb...between the four of us, we tried all options. Each soup was delicious and could have been a meal all by itself...soup servings were large and came with fresh bread. We're going back!

“Good food, good value, a little out of the way”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

Located in a strip mall behind the island's largest supermarket, the kitchen is a little tricky to locate if you set out on foot from the supermarket, especially after dark. It requires a car or taxi to get there and back from either Oranjestad or Palm Beach.
The ambiance is not that of a fine dining establishment but more of that of a diner with a counter and daily specials listing taking up most of one wall. Welcomed by friendly wait staff, we were seated in no time, handed a menu, questions answered patiently, the order taken, and a glass of wine in front of us, pronto. Luck had it that our order went to the kitchen when it did as a large group of about 20 well dressed local women began arriving and settled in along a large table, suggesting the Kitchen is a local favorite.
Items on the extensive menu range from fish over chicken and meat to pasta and even Pizza, something for everyone's taste buds. We ordered a French Onion Soup, a grouper entrée which came with veggies, and Brazilian black beans. My filet mignon, covered with blue cheese crumbs and wrapped in bacon came exactly medium rare as ordered and was out of this world, all at a price about half of what one would have paid in the US. Portions were very large, and one better comes hungry to the kitchen. All in all, the Kitchen serves delicious food at reasonable prices, and if one is at the supermarket at lunch or dinner hours, a visit at the kitchen is a must.
