“2014 stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2014

This is our fifth year stay at the Tamarijn. We love the place, people and beach. Great place to stay and relax. Food is great especially the Red Parrot. The rooms are all very close to beach and beach area is always well cared for.

This was our 4th trip to Aruba. The first time we stayed in the high rise section, the 2nd time at the Divi and then we discovered the Tamarijn where we stayed the last 2 times. We love the proximity to the ocean. You can't beat the view!! The room is not overly large but you are hardly ever in the room. We found that they were very clean and the shower issue is not that bad - a couple of towels solve the problem. The staff is wonderful!! Everyone was more than pleasant and always very helpful. If you are nice to them, they will smile and be nice to you!!

The food is awesome!! We enjoy all of the a la carte restaurants. The buffet restaurants are also very good as are the beach restaurants. The drinks are very good too!

I really have nothing negative to say. We are hoping to go back next January!! :) Some of the negative comments that other people have made are highly exaggerated in my opinion. You can't go wrong with this resort!

Room Tip: If you have issues with walking any distance then stay in the lower numbers.

You can not stay at a hotel with the water any closer. The food kwas good and the service is great. This was my second trip to Aruba and I will return again this year in May. Tamarjin is my pick to stay for the third time.

Better late than never with this review.
Please forget all the negative, poor reviews, these people MUST have been looking for anything to moan about.
we stayed there August 2013, two weeks or pure amazing bliss.
we did not care what room we had, and were very happy with our 1st floor( thats not ground floor to our american friends) amazing views, 30 seconds to the best beach i have ever stood on, ( better than isle le surf in Mauritius)
staff in the buffet amazing, every morning lunch or dinner always happy, its really quite simple, if treat people how you like to be treated, speak to staff like they are a piece of Sh1t and what do you expect.
all restaurants were great, did not get up early to book, if there was a space when we walked past the booking ladies, then we booked, simple. windows, amazing, wine is expensive, but who cares.
the Divi, very special, the evening entertainment there was better, than the Tam, and as you can switch anytime day or night between the two, perfect.
i could go on, but it was so amazing that we are going back there next year to get Married taking 30 of our nearest and dearest with us.

this place is a must.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary, what a fantastic hotel, did is amazing and the hotel is situated in a great location. Easy access to the local bus to Oranjestad, this is the first holiday we can truly say 'we will be back'

We have been staying at the Tamarijn twice a year for several years. There have been cosmetic upgrades to the Terrace, rooms, and a different entertainment schedule. What makes this our home away from home are the people. They are warm, friendly, and HAPPY! We would especially like to thank Francis R., the entertainment coordinator, for everything he does. His enthusiasm for his job, his dedication to it, and his warm personality are just one of the reasons we love it here.

I was slightly shocked as we first arrived at the Tam- not nearly as gradiose as I was expecting. Our room was VERY dated and run down. I have read all the reviews about the showers and was not expecting to care at all if a little water got on the bathroom floor, but it wasn't a little water it was ankle high water- we used all our towels on the floor so we wouldn't slip. Our maid was very nice she introduced herself the first day. The room was picked up, but not "cleaned" our bed always had sand in it. On the second to last day she came to our room to announce our departure day was her day off and would like her tip now- I found that a bit rude, but english was her second language. Ok now for the positive stuff- the beach was AMAZING! just steps outside of our door was a clean white sand beach and beautiful turquoise water perfect for swimming. It was never a problem to find beach chairs the beach actually seemed somewhat deserted. I never saw anyone in any of the pools. There was no activities or night life to speak of which was a disappointment, but Aruba is such a safe island we were able to ride bikes all over the island. Since this is an all inclusive I went there fully intending to drink all week, but I was disappointed all of the drinks tasted like sugar water, wine selection was limited, and they had Miller, Heineken, and Bashi beers. I was blown away by the food- I had read so many bad reviews about Palm Grill I didn't even want to try it, but it turned out to be my second favorite and we went there twice. The food is great and if you think its not it's your fault because you cooked it! My favorite was Ginger- really, really good asian food, try this resturant first because you will want to go back. The buffet always had great food, but it was always covered in flies! Paparazzi and Red Parrot were both ok. It was a hassel that we had to make reservations 2 days ahead of time and because there were 6 of us we sometimes had to go as early as 6pm or as late as 9pm. This resort was very spread out- I think 2 1/2 miles end to end we enjoyed walking off all the calories we ate, but I don't know how anyone less mobile would get around, there was a shuttle service sometimes they were always around while other times we wouldn't see one for hours. All though I was not impressed with this resort at all I would recommend it for the beach and food. Compared to other resorts that allowed you to walk right out on to the beach this one seemed quite affordable.
