“First visit to the Tam”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

This was my first trip to this hotel and this island. My husband has been here several times but this hotel is a first for both of us. We decided to go all inclusive and were glad we did. The staff is extra friendly, the beach is great, the food at the buffet was good although we ate dinner at the resturants on the site which were the best. Breakfast was good, alot to choose from but it was the same items for breakfast. Lunch we usually ate light, salads and soup. The rooms were nice but I would say the outside of the buildings could use a little upgrading. There are large golf carts that take you back and forth to the divi hotel which is included to use all their services and they will also take you to the alhambra casino which is next door to the divi. If you like to gamble this is the place the locals go and yes I came out with a few winnings. Whenever we decide to go back, we will likely stay here if we go all inclusive.

Room Tip: If you like a quiet room with easy access to the resturants, pool, bar, gift shops, and the beach to...

We had a first floor room (low rise complex, with only two floors), with a patio. The beach began 12 feet from our patio door, maybe 50 yards to the Caribbean Sea. While the exterior of the building is showing some age, the room was in great working order. Beautiful tile & granite counter in the bathroom, very comfortable bed & linens. Food in the buffet restaurant was consistently fresh & good flavors. At Ginger, the Asian fusion restaurant, we tried sushi for the first time. One night at Papparazzi (Italian), we experimented with pasta & seafood dishes. Also ate at the Red Parrot in the neighboring Divi resort, and Windows on Aruba at the golf course across the street. Nothing was crowded; plenty of beach chairs to enjoy the sand & beautiful aqua water.

Room Tip: selecting a first floor room avoids the stairs, and have direct beach access. Second floor rooms ha...

Our first time to Aruba and we stayed at the fabulous Tamarijn Aruba All Inclusive. It was like having our own private beach when we walked out of our patio doors. Not crowded at all--unlike the high rise hotels just up the strip. Never a problem getting a beach chair or sitting in the shade under the thatched-roofed huts. The pool was very clean, as well, and never crowded. Food was good, with good selection at buffets every day (definitely not 5 star, but it was all-inclusive). Only problem was the shower--no sliding door, and water splashed all over the floor. Had to keep extra towels on the floor to keep it dry. All staff was extremely friendly and accomodating, especially our housekeeper, Louisa. We were in room 2415, which was a little hike to the food and main pool, but it was very quiet. Next time would try to get room in 18 or 19 sections.

Room Tip: If you don't like to walk alot, try to stay in rooms beginning with 15, 16, or 17. Rooms on fir...

Just got back from Aruba Saturday night. Spent a week at the Tamarijn. This was our 6th time staying there. I will say in the past I have complained about the food at the buffet, well to my surprise the food has improved drastically! I can honestly say I have NO complaints about the Tam! If you are a beach person this is the place to stay as it is the only TRUE ocean FRONT resort! This isn't a ritzy fancy resort like some of the high rises, but it works for us! It's personal and somewhat quiet and just perfect! We generally stay in the 2100 - 2500 blocks, which are father away from the main area, the walk from the room is not bad at all though and I find it more private at the end of the resort. Iris Veen (concierge) is the woman to speak to! she is amazing! Ronny is a great bar tender and will accomodate anything you need in the alcohol situation if he can! The beach at the Tam is beautiful, not many rocks in the water and the sand is pure white! The night time and day time activites are lacking but that was fine for my husband and myself. I would recommend this resort in a heart beat!!

Resort located beautifully right on a beach. We stayed in building 22, that is quiet and far away from all activities. It is long walk to the lobby and eating areas. We often used a cart to ride to bar or restorants. If you planning to stay with little kids of olderly person consider to stay closer located building to all the activities. Resort are cliean, rooms renovated, food OK in buffet, Palm Grill and Red Parrot restorants are great. Our only concern is kids/adults activity. The schedule and events on the calendar were not followed. We tryed two-three days to get into the kids club, and then decided it not worced it. The scheduled activities eather was cancelled ( without any notice) or recheduled for time we are not informed for. In general the vacation was great and we enjoyed our stay.

Could not be more pleased with our experience at the Tamarijn - if you are a beach person (vs a pool person) you could not ask for more. We were in Bldg 17 (recently renovated), 1st floor unit. From the patio out back it was 10 feet across the grass, then the boardwalk and you were on the beach (sand) with just a little bit further to the water - I was only in the -pool for 15 minutes. The Bunker Bar was one bldg to our left and just a few short bldgs to the main pool/restaurant area.

Food was good and had no problems with any of the restaurants, either here or at the Divi.

Would definetly stay here again.

Room Tip: As you look west from the pool area choose a building to the left if possible. The first bldg might...

My husband and I just returned from a 5day/4night stay at the Tamarijn. I would definitley come back to this resort and I'd also try it's sister Divi resort next door.
The resort was clean and comfortable, the food was good (if you're looking for 5 star food then don't go to an all-inclusive), the drinks were great, the beach was gorgeous and the service was EXCELLENT! Every person who worked in the resort that we intereacted with was helpful and friendly and everyone we passed in our walks said hello/good morning/etc.
Our priorities were easy beach access (Check), all-inclusive (Check), clean (Check), safe (Check), plenty of palapas for shade (Check).
A few areas of improvement I would recommend:1) the beds are not comfortable at all - I'm not looking for pillow top luxury, but our bed was like sleeping on a wooden board; 2) free wifi in the rooms should be a given; 3) odd shower set up so that water always gets all over the bahroom floor.
We even spoke with a few people on the beach who said the Tamarijn is the best hotel/beach set up on the island where you literally walk out your door and you're on the beach.

Room Tip: The higher number buildings are farther away from the center, but they are quieter and less crowded...
