We've not long been back from the Tam and absolutely loved everything about it which others have gone into in detail below so I won't go over the same stuff.

The only downside was a couple of the waiters were very rude in ignoring us, telling us we weren't going to be served any more drinks as we'd had enough (we'd only had 2) and serving people who had clearly just walked up to the bar. This happened on numerous occasions and to a few people within our group of 12. This isn't just our own perception but that of other English people we met whilst on holiday.

We've come to the conclusion that the its the English custom to tip AFTER good service, guests from other nationallities tip BEFORE any sort of service. Bar staff definately expect to be tipped on a regular basis so if you want bar service I would recommend doing just that.

I'm not moaning or griping, just wanted to point that out so you enjoy your holiday, it didn't spoil it for us we had an absolutely fantasitc time and I would definately recommend this hotel.

The best thing about the Tam is that the rooms are right on the beach - you can literally open your patio door and within two paces are standing in the sand with the sea another 20 or so paces in front of you. However, you will need to navigate the rocks which are located along most of the shoreline - not that this is a major problem although it probably makes this hotel unsuitable for families with young children. The sea is clean and clear with a sandy bottom.

Our room was fine if a little tired and dated - but was well equipped with a/c, ceiling fan, tv, hairdryer, iron and fridge. We knew not to expect luxury rooms before we went so were not disappointed!

The food was usually pretty good - both at the buffet and in the four a la carte restaurants which you can go to as many times as you like (this has not been the case in other All Inclusives I've stayed at). I did have a couple of bad entrees in the Italian but it was still my favourite restaurant & it has a comfortable air conditioned bar area. On the All Inclusive package you can use the facilities at neighbouring Divi hotel - we used their buffet for dinner a couple of times and their gorgeous beach front bar in the evenings - it has a more sophisticated atmosphere than the Tam's buffet which is a bit like a canteen. The a la carte at the Divi (The Red Parrot) was my husband's favourite and we ate there a couple of times too.

I’ve read a few reviews regarding poor service but I found the service to be efficient and friendly enough - perhaps sometimes a bit brusque (particularly bar tenders & some waiting staff in the buffets) but the reception and concierge were very smiley and helpful.

The Tam is a very laid back hotel and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing beach based holiday they can slip into from day one - just one point - if it is a special occasion such as honeymoon or anniversary I would probably choose somewhere a touch more luxurious.

We stayed at the Tam from 9/17/2007 through 9/27/2007 and all we can say now is that it more than lived up to our expectations.

The ocean was 10 seconds from our patio, the huts were readily available, and the beach was not crowded unlike the hi rise area. never even set a foot in a pool! Very friendly staff and guests, and plenty of good food and drink.....Aruba's island brew Balashi was excellent ..bring some back to the US, since we don't import it ..

The breakfast buffet in the Cunucu Terrace was typical for an all inclusive package.Make sure you sit close to the water to watch the pelicans dive under and get their breakfast!

We ate at Ginger 5 nights..excellent Asian cuisine.. try the fresh ginger with whip cream for dessert.Paparazzi (Italian) was also good, but don't expect anything with red gravy .. Didn't do the Palm Grill, and ate at the Red Parrot one time. No color red or parrots to be seen...

Pizza per Tutti had pizzas (thin or thick crust) cooked while you wait and you could carry out/take away if you choose.. they also had excellent sandwiches (club, tuna)

Use the snorkel equipment and check out the fish around the pipes just off buildings 19 and 21. saw some starfish as well...

Rented a Jeep for a day..find the large red/pink anchor at the southeast corner of the island and check out the beach below ....spectacular!!, enjoyed it more than the crowded Baby Beach. bring some apples for the donkeys at the donkey sanctuary.

gotta go..getting ready to book the return trip here next year!!!
Thank you Tam for making our vacation a most memorable one..

I have just returned from Aruba (27/09/2007) where I had the most wonderful enjoyable holiday.
Myself & my partner stayed at the Tam in room # 2218 - views are breath taking.
Our room was very well equipt with plenty of wardrobe space (you do need to take your own hangers though) with 2 double beds.
The hotel was the cleanest that I have ever stayed in and the layout of the hotel is very good.
The food in the buffet was 5 star with plenty of choice on a daily basis.
The resturants at the Tam were of a quality that you would pay top notch for with our fav. being The Papazzi (you must try the steak or the chicken with pesto)
The Pizza per Tutti bar was star class with wonderful fresh pizzas, sandwiches and snackes being made till 1am.
The drinks were good and all known brands are well stocked. My fav. cocktail was by far the "Brown Lady"
The only bad comment I can make was the bad attitude and service of two barman. One barman was of such poor quality that he slammed the bottles on the bar to one customer and told him to make his own drink. A complaint was made by the holiday maker and was satisfied by the comments from the manager.
The rest of the staff at the Tam are a credit to the hotel with there helpfulness and service provided.

The only other downside was lack of shade around the pool area and the holiday makers (you know who you are)! reserving the beach sunbeds the night before with towels which was very annoying.

Having the full use of the Divi Hotel was a huge bonus, the facilities could be used as all-inclusive and has the best stretch of beach in Aruba.
The water there was as clear as tap water and had no rocks, seaweed and had more shade then the Tam.

Snorkelling at both hotels was amazing, so many beautiful and unusal fish.
I would highly reccomend the Sea Trek trip along with the snorkling trip to see the ship wrecks - amazing experience.

Both myself and my partner Paul enjoyed our holiday so much that we are planning our wedding there - go, you would love it!!

Stayed at the Tam 8/18/07 to 8/25/07 - It was a great week - Wife and I and 2 kids ages 12 and 8 - We stayed at the Divi Dutch Village but were part of the Tamarijn All Inclusive - This is tremendous - Once they put the all inclusive bracelet on you , it is a free for all for all you can eat and drink - All the food is good and the restaurants are excellent - Not a problem with anything -The bunker bar on the beach is great - Good service at all the bars and restaurant -

Our room was a studio suite in building 1 and it was perfect- Had a full kitchen, patio - king bed and sleeper sofa - All you need for a week

The beach was beautiful - We were there right as Hurricane Dean had passed so we had great waves which my kids loved - Had some extra amount of seaweed but that is too be expected, especially after a Hurricane passes by the island - The hotel staff did a great job over the next few days to get it all cleaned up.
Got to use the giant pool across the street at the Divi Golf and Links - It has a nice waterslide and a basketball hoop and a swim up bar - Beautiful pool - We also used the 3 private pools located within the Divi Dutch Village and they were nice- Quiet and peaceful - That is where we saw most of the iguanas - My son was really looking to see them.
The main pools at the Tam and Divi are also nice. We had fun playing bingo at the Tam pool and my son enjoyed the pool activities.

The golf carts can take you to the "sister" resort - The Div Divi and can also take you to the Alhambra Casino or across the street to the Divi Golf and Links Resort- They can also take you to the edge of the property then you can cross the street to the supermarket -

My daughter and I did the horseback riding on the beach and it was very nice - We also rode the bus into town a couple of times.
I do not really know if renting a car is necessary - I guess it depends on how much you want to do away from the resort . ...
Just a little tip but in between the Alhambra Casino and Dunkin Donuts is an entrance that takes you behind the casino and there is a little booth where you can make phone calls to the United States for .25 cents a minute - They also have the internet for the same price- This was something we found out about 1/2 way through our trip - It sure beats paying $2 a minute with your cell phone - As I said previously , the golf carts will take you there- Just tell them you want dropped off at Dunkin Donuts - That's what we did - Then you can also go to the casino or walk next door to the Divi if you want- It is real close- There are also some other gift shop buildings back there too .

The Tam is the way to go - Excellent food and drinks, as much as you can want - - beautiful beach - quiet - not real busy like the Hi-Rise area - peaceful - Multiple pools to pick from and a bunch of different restaurants- They do have the exercise equipment and rock climbing wall but we did not do that -

We liked it so much we will be back in 2009 - probably with some extra people .

Just got back from Aruba. The Tam is a great place. Room 2311 was great. The view and ocean was outstanding. Service and food was average. Only place didn't like was Papazzai, service was horrible and food was worse. We loved the buffets! Drinks were nice and strong. Had fun playing bingo at the pool. Check in and check out was smooth. We did have a leaky toliet, did take a couple calls for someone to come look at it. Overall the vacation was great and will be back to the Tam. Rent a jeep, its great fun to travel the island. Amazing views you can find!!

Well we have just returned from 14 days at the Tam all inclusive.

This is our third visit and I have to say that it was not as good as the previous two.
The buffet became to much the same, not much variety at breakfast or lunch, day after day.
We had a couple of problems with the room but in fairness they were resolved although the loo took 3 days to solve. (new loo fitted).
Gingers the new Asian experience was excellent, The Red Parrot was at its usual best standard, my advice ask for Joyce to serve she is customer friendly as is Calvin.
The cleaner we had was very good and looked after the room.
The staff saved me a lot of money in tips as they were mostly new and had not become fully customer aware.
All in all it was another good trip and we would still recommend the Tam/Divi all inclusive to our friends.
